Hi there, I am really interested in the NY Cab and I'm happy with the price . I live on the Isle of Wight so getting up to London can be a bit of a performance . Do you ever venture to the south , ie Portsmouth or Southampton area? If not I can meet in Central London - done quite a few deals in Waterloo station in the past. Many thanks Martin.
Sent PM.
OT but love the avatar, Squib! Odd Bod from 'Carry on Screaming', one of the corniest films ever made and essential viewing ("frying tonight!") Have a bump for what seem to be very well priced, good quality bits of kit!
Cheers man ! Glad you appreciate the bit of 'Carry On' . Frying tonight indeed !!

Otherwise, speak to one of the admin or mods to sort it
Thanks man . I'm waiting for someone to get back to me - in the mean time I'll have a look at my settings again. Thanks again for your patience.
Hi, I think you misunderstand, it is possible to send members on this site personal messages that go straight to your personal mailbox on the site. If someone sends you a PM by its very nature its a private mail and therefore people can communicate to discuss things like pricing or offers on kit you may be selling, or indeed their opinions if that's the case without having to post it as part of your thread. Your PM is still off Steve
Sorry about this - i haven't misunderstood you, i just can't seem to sus out what I'm supposed to be doing to get my PM up and running ? I'm working on it though, so please bear with me while i get to grips with my own incompetence !
Do you have your personal messenger switched off so that no one can send you PM's?? Sorry, I'm here there and everywhere at the moment and trying to keep track of things here ( and not succeeding that well ! ) Should find that my PM is switched on now. quote name='Squib' date='Jul 5 2010, 09:34 PM' post='886699'] Hi, I'm based around the Enfield area In North London.

I have been trying to find some new band to listen to in the style of Jamiroquai, Brand new heavies, Steve Wonder or perhaps some Soul Band? Anybody now of any new, up and coming band which are worth a listen? any stuff on you tube? Cheers
As has been said , check out ( probably some of the earlier stuff ) from Incognito - Tribes Vibes and Scribes etc . Akimbo is probably worth a look too . There are still some pretty good bands around doing some very good 'old skool ' stuff such as the likes of Push , who do some very nice stuff . The place to go though really , is back to the good old US of A and the 70's . Try and find anything by Pleasure or The Jeff Lorber Fusion , for a very nice starter .

Hi everyone, I'm Squib and thought i should introduce myself. I did make an appearance in the Gear For Sale column a while back but failed to introduce myself so apologies for that. I have been a bass player for longer than i really care to recall ( about 30 years and counting ) - which makes me something of an old fart i guess ?? I'll play anything that sounds good, but Jazz, Funk and Soul is probably where i'm at. I've had so much gear over the years that i try not to think about it and especially not the amount of cash that's been spent ( what is it with bass players and gear ?? ) I currently have a few Fenders and a small Mark Bass rig (LMK and NY 604 ), that i think you may well find on the 'For Sale ' pages fairly soon - still I'm sure that the next bit of gear that i buy will be my last though . . . . . . . . . honest ! ( That last bit was for the Wife's benefit .) Cheers .
