Emerald blue. It looks fantastic and I generally like white basses. I've had a few G&L's both tributes and US ones and none have been shielded. I do occasionally do get humming when I'm playing at home no matter what bass I'm using. There's something going on with the electrics in the house but it's not all the time. If it turns out bad, I'm quite happy shielding it. £350 is a great price. I know how good Tributes are so it's going to be a lot of bass for the money. I will now have 3 Precisions, a 2021 USA Pro II, a US '95 and this one. The others have flat wounds but this one I'll use with rounds. Looking forward to it arriving,

NBD: Fender American Pro ii Dark Night Limited Edition Jazz Bass
bigthumb replied to Old Horse Murphy's topic in Bass Guitars
That rosewood fingerboard looks lovely. I've got the Pro II Precision and build quality and finish is excellent. I wish I were in a better financial position should you decide to move it on, I miss having a Jazz bass. -
I bought @Quatschmacher identical Pro II and absolutly love it. The necks are sublime (IMO) and the build quality and finish are first class too. The reshaped body allows easy access to the dusty end of the fingerboard which really helps on the odd occasion I venture up there. If funds were ever to allow, I'd like one of these with the rosewood board or even one like this and have it strung with round wounds but alas, that won't be for a while. Whoever buys this, I'm sure, will be a happy bunny!

I was quite surprised with the difference between the stock US pickup on my '95 Precision and the Custom Shop '62 I replaced it with. Well worth the upgrade IMO if you want that old school vibe.

I've used UPS for a couple of years now without any issue. I've only had two occasions when the (UK) delivery wasn't on the following day but to be fair they have been excellent.

I have a set of Rotosound fitted to a Precision bass and they do seem pretty dull and muted to me across all 4 strings but all balanced. They're ok but I preferred the Labellas I had on a Pbass I once owned. On my other Precision I've recently fitted a set of Detroit flats. Like the OP the A,D and G are fine, quite nice sounding in fact but the E is nowhere. I've tried re stringing a couple of times but its makes no difference. I'm wondering if it doesn't like thru body stringing? The bridge on my US '95 P is thru body only BTW. So, I replaced the offending E with a Dunlop where the difference is night and day. It blends nicely with the Elites and when the A,D&G newness wares off I think it'll be spot on and what I want to hear from my bass.

Lozz sold me a set of Precision pickups. A first class Basschatter who was happy to hold them for me until payday. Great comms and speedy postage - Perfect. Cheers 😎

What was the weights like of the two? I think I'd be hard pushed to pick between them as the SB-1 also looks very tempting. Sadly there's no shops around here that stock them so trying them out is near impossible. My Fullerton JB was excellent, first class build quality and finish but just too damn heavy unfortunately.

Not a great fan of 'Road Worn' but I do like that one.

Nice one Matt. looking forward to your review.

Thanks mate. And where was it from?

As much as I love the look of the bass, the type of wood is a bit of an unknown to me. I have now seen some cheaper basses with pine body woods but not anything yet of £1k plus basses. It really dose put me off buying one if I'm honest. Also @neepheid is your incoming bass the LB-100 Tribute?
