1. Try and hold out for a decent secondhand SS1 or the bolt on LX which IMO is a better slapper if thats your thing. The older LX's with the wenge necks being very nice and easy to play as they have a slim and comfortable neck very much like the vintage Streamers.
2. Ovi is a great guy to deal with, absolutely no worries there! Great communications, smooth transaction and Bass arrived safely. Top man!
3.
Well, it will sure look nice sat next to my 1983 Pink Triangle turntable, it looks like it came from this era.
Reminded me of an old Denon hifi amp I used to own!
4. I think its fair for me to say that amp/bass demos sound the bloody same! Clickity click stuff played as fast as possible. Granted I listened to that through lap top speakers but the demos I've listened to through the hifi still sound the same. That could have been a number of active basses been played through any modern amp. I'd like to hear a potential future purchase played properly alongside a live drummer for example. I'm sure you'd get a better idea of what the amp is all about. For me it was just another tiresome slap demo. (ok there was a bit of finger playing but you know what I'm getting at). Also, is there going to be a gig bag available for it and is it rack mountable?
5. I've owned one of the big 6x10 Genz cabs and a Neox 2x12. The Focus cabs IMO offer the same build quality. They really are very good. The price if the 1x12 is just silly and I'd love to try one after owning GS112's and EA CXL1x12's in the past. I've yet to hear a better 12" cab than the EA but these are not made anymore? My Focus 15" is superb as a stand alone cab. Compact and light weight. Its nothing like a typical 15" cab you'd expect. Its lively, bright, articulate and obviously has great depth but not wolley and vague. I can only imagine the 12" cabs being the same.
6.
It is Bubinga I believe Delivery can be arranged if need be Its not letting me upload pictures at the moment but i can email if you would like some Lewis
Try hosting with photobucket or something like that. Good price too! Doubt you'll have much trouble selling it.
7. These Focus cabs are just great. Dont think for any second that they are 'budget' in any way. They may be cheaper than a lot of the top stuff but thats the only difference! Agree about the handle though
8. These are VERY good cabs. And even for non Neo cabs their not too heavy. The sound is 'neutral' with maybe a little on the mids. They cut through lovely. I've owned quite a few of the 'top' brands including Genz Neox, Eden, EA, EBS, Aguilar etc. and these are pretty much up there with them. The whole range of the Focus cabs is superb. My 1x15 is a great stand alone cab being light weight, compact and sounds nothing like the 15" cabs of yesteryear. It sounds bright, punchy and articulate even without the tweeter on. Build quality is excellent, certainly comparable to my old Neox 2x12 and every other quality cab I've owned. Brand new prices are great value for money, second hand prices are a gift!
9. And again! I would do this for £650 Collected
10. You sure like the dusty end of the neck! Sounds lovely. Love the old Warwicks.
11. Sadly (for me) this bass is now for sale. £700 No trades thanks. The bass comes with a hard case but would rather not post.
12. I no nothing about these basses apart from how stunning it looks! Where are you located?
13.
Mistletoe and Wine - cliff richard. Uurgh!
Unlucky!
14. I've heard our guitarists play bass.... I'd prefer the end of the world!
15. I was playing along to Elton Johns 'Goodbye yellow brick road' (as you do) and really enjoying it. I noticed it was from 1973. So Dose any body have a favourite play along song from their year of birth? The Sweet and 'Blockbuster' were at No.1 when I popped out, maybe I should learn my birth day song too!
