1.
Jeez O When will this nonsense end ? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vintage-Fender-Strat...=item45fa2cc07c
Oh God! They just look bloody dreadful.
2. I have no idea who Justin Bieber is but a paid gig is a paid gig!
3. Amazed this aint gone yet. Folk don't know what their missing out on here!
4.
I'd love a 1987 Warwick Streamer!
I love mine but its sadly way off my birth year! I did have a '73 Precision and I wish I still did.
5. I dont know anything really about them although having a quick look at the Warwick page they look ok. I'm a little surprised that the Thumb has a maple neck and not Ovangkol. The corvette dose! I would hazard a guess that the build quality would be very good but I bet you'll pay for it! And then theres the 'Artist Series'...
6.
Bassists are too stupid to play anything with more than four strings.
God knows I am!
7. Another big +1 for the Genz Neox. For its size its quite remarkable and easily handles the venues I play. The sound is so tight and focused and not what I would expect from a 2x12. When I was in the market for a new cab I tried it against a Berg 2x12 (which IMO didn't sound half as good) and two Berg 4x10's both Neo and non Neo. I thought that the non Neo Berg sounded better being crisper and tighter and pretty much like the Neox.
8. Newly acquired 1990 Streamer Stage I
9.

The black hardware look good, I quite like that.
10. I'd be buggered if I'd ever spend 1K on a new Precision! Hang out for a S/H Japanese one and save yourself a lot of money.
11.
Shocking! I'm a bit out of the loop with the value of vintage Warwicks. How much "should" this have gone for? It looks like it's fallen short for lack of accurate title, decent description and collection only.
I think the advert really let it down presuming that the bass was in good condition. The BIN was £800 which alone would be a pretty good price for one of these. I paid more for mine but worth every penny!
12. I remember you telling me about this. Looking forward to your review.
13.
Don't sell. Warwick Thumb bass IS a traditional tone. You will only regret this and return to the Warwick fold someday. Once a Warwick Thumb owner always a Warwick Thumb owner.
Its the truth!
14. I'd like to think that I'm a good customer of Marks what with buying basses, amps, cabs and various other bits and bobs. On every occasion I've been more than happy with the service I have received. Under no circumstance would I believe that mark would have sold a bass knowing that there was such an issue with it. I don't doubt the claims made by Alex as I'm no expert on '80s Precisions (I've had quite a few '70s). I did view the bass quickly and it seemed ok to me. But like I said I'm no expert. I really hope that the issue is quickly resolved for Alex with the minimal damage to Bassdirect's, and Marks great reputation.
15.

Damn GAS! Anyhow the Thumb and Streamer are great basses. Both very different but both very usable and I'm pretty hard pushed to decide what one to use when gigging, I love them both.
16.
I read the original, just wondering why it's now deleted?
+1
17. Not mine or nowt to do with me. But come on! Enough of the hard sell 'eh? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Warwick-Streamer-Bas...=item43a6430e24
18. Bass now sold and soon on its way to Finland. Thanks for all the messages and offers. Paul
19. Due to a very unexpected bill I have to flog the Fortress. Its one of the first run of the Fortresses as it has the extra sculpting & cutaways. It has the super slim wenge pre volute neck. The EMG's are retro fitted and not original equipment. Its also has a D-Tuner. There's a few dinks and scratches most noticeably a chip (around 10mm) in the lacquer by the input jack. Its a bit of a shame as overall its a lovely bass but its not noticeable from the front and the strap would probably cover it up. Frets are great and the neck is proper Warwick quality and on Parr with Thumbs and Streamers. Weight wise its not particularly heavy as the body is ash (I think). Sound is very 'thumpy' and strong in the mids, roll back the EQ's and tinker with pup volumes and it dose a pretty good Precision thing! It has a Warwick strap and locks. I like the bass, its great fun but needs must so she has to go. I have a hard case so I'm happy to post it. I have a PayPay account if you cover the fees. Duff picture time. Any Q's please fire away
20. I have a set of MEC PJ passive pups sitting idle which came out of my '93 Fortress. Not bad condition at all. The silver/gold lettering is all but gone, as like my other Warwick pups. £35 posted anybody? If you need the pots that came out of the bass I'll chuck them in too. Cheers, Paul
21. Ha Ha! Just been looking at that.
22. Good call! Although I'd see a professional regarding them dreams!
23. I really think you should put it on ebay for what its really worth and you may have more luck. You never know! Standard Corvettes have sold for more than this and I know what I'd rather have. If I had the disposable cash I'd have had this when it were up for 500.
24. £415 is just silly for a bass like this!
