1.
Wow! Lovely looking bass, does it come with the original hard case and is that a one piece body?
Thank you. It looks like a one piece body and it dose have the Fender case.
2. BUMP with Pictures!
3. I only acquired this here recently but due to a whole change in backline it is now redundant. It comes boxed and is in great condition. TBH I've not really used it apart from one song in the set list at two gigs so I'm not that familiar with it! Pics on request but I'm pretty sure you know what they look like! Paul
4. I have a GS112 (300w 8ohms) for sale. Its in great condition, no issues but is now surplus to requirements. It also has a quality cover (one of them off ebay). I'll post some pics when its not dark or raining outside! I can post but would prefer to meet up if within reasonable distance. Cheers, Paul
5. Due to very recent GAS and a buying frenzy I have to sell this great amp. I've had it for a while now and used it for many gigs where it has performed outstandingly with a variety of different speaker combinations. It has huge power (800w at 4ohms and 1k into 2ohms) and very 'clean' quality. This amp originally replaced my EBS TD650 which I thought was unbeatable. I really cannot afford to keep it and there will also be a Aguilar GS112 up for grabs soon! Its in great condition and comes with the proper EA gig bag. Here's a link to the EA manual. http://www.eaamps.com/manuals/iAMP800_man_v6.pdf And here's a picture... Its a lot of amp for 350 quid!
6.
when did you get a stingray paul? really gorgeous P. hoping to get something along these lines... but with my budget looks to be more a mexican or a squire
I've had the Stingray for about 6 weeks now. Lovely bass too. There's some great Jap Squier Precisions out there that are still relatively cheep.
Amazed this hasn't gone yet, very nice example at a decent price.
Cheers Chris
7. Back up for sale for a while then its ebay.
8.
can U give up the whole serial number ?
PM'd Still available.
9. I would really like a good amp as a backup so I'm selling the P to fund this. Its a Z2 serial number two tone sunburst complete with Fender case. I got this from Bass Direct a few months ago for £650 and I've been very happy with it but after a recent scare with my amp not working (bloody fuse in plug) I want a second amp. I gig lots with several bands and not having a reserve is daft. I would be ideally after a small amp like EA Micro or something Markbass. Definitely around the 500W+ mark. If anybodies interested I'll take some better pics outside when its not peeing it down. None of the other tat is for sale, yet! Cheers y'all Paul
10. I got one new from the Gallery a few years ago and I really liked it. I found it well made (obviously) and quite versatile. One the whole a good bass for the money. I would guess that about 450ish for a used one. I really cant remember what I sold it for or why come to think of it!
11. I owned a 4003 for a while and chopped it in for an old Precision. I loved the look of the Ric and it played ok but it just didnt have any balls. I had both pups rewound by Wizard which gave it a bit more but in the end it still fell short. But if I was loaded I'd have another!
12. If I had the spare dollar I'd have this as a backup. Fantastic and seriously underrated amps.
13. Even my spare (although I doubt I'll ever need 'em) leads are Dave's!
14. If you are used to 'normal' strings give half wounds a whirl. They'll be brighter than flats and feel more like rounds. I would try the three options you mentioned and see whats more comfortable and suits the sound you want to hear. I've got loads of used half's and flats knocking about if you want them. Never used tape wound strings though.
15. I've just 'rediscovered' Stingrays and forgot just how much I like the noise they make. This one is my fifth or sixth and first 3eq pre. I have the mid set to centre and TBH it doesn't sound any different to the 2eq. The build quality has always impressed me although the pre-EB I owned was very heavy. My first one was a 1989 (I think) that I got from Musical Exchanges in Birmingham in 1995 which I kept for almost ten years. My favorite one was a battered white/maple '86 which I was mad to sell. This black one is a pretty newish one and is an absolute peach.
16.
+1 Looking forward to the cleaned up pics!
But the grime makes it look so cool! I really wish I had the funds for this as I always regretted selling my 1980 Ray.
17. What a ******g cool bass! What sort of things would you take in part-ex? I'm sure I have one or two vital organs I could part with!
18. Stick a Badass on it! Nah, leave it well alone. Quality set of strings and a good setup is all you need.
19. Blimey Chris that was a quick turnaround! The Precision I got at the same time is lovely BTW!
20. Good call adding the Seymour Duncan! This is a cracking bass, a real good example of a Corvette.
21.
I've got my eyes all over for new basses at the moment, a P bass is definitely next in line though (though I kinda need a fretless first). The necks on P basses seem too wide for me in some instances, then again I'm use to a J bass.
Howsabout a Pbass with a Jazz neck! Avoid the 60's reissues then as they'll have the 'C' neck which you'll find a bit wide. 70's 'B' necks are nice being not much wider than a Jazz.
