    I've waffled on about how much I like my iAmp800 over on finnbass probably a bit too much so I wont start here! I've used the amp with just one 4ohm EBS cab before and its been plenty loud enough and I've been more than happy with the results. I've played an outdoor gig with both cabs 'at volume' and the sound was massive. Again very very impressed. I think your iAmp puts 350w in to 8 Ohms Peter so I'm quite surprised that you're struggling with it. Your band isn't particularly loud by any means and when I watched you a couple of weeks ago the bass was cutting through nicely with the one cab, no drama at all!

    After a couple of weeks of deciding which bass to part with I've come to a decision. I acquired a Sandberg PM in a trade for a cab which I have come to like, a lot! I couldn't really afford to keep both basses so sadly I have to say good bye to the Duck Dunn. I got this during the summer from Absolute Music Solutions. I guess its a few years old although its practically unmarked. I'm lead to believe the it has a Lindy Fralin pickup which to me sounds quite 'aggressive', nothing like my old Precision. It has the usual Lakland build quality and the finish is gorgeous. It has a hard case so posting wont be a problem. If you need any questions answering or further pictures just pop me a PM. I managed to haggle the shop down to £840 plus postage. I'm happy to let it go for £650 posted. Cheers, Paul

    Good stuff Tony! Your old Proline has a new partner now. I've only used the rig once or twice as the bands going through a gig drought at the moment but blimey it sounded phenomenal!

    Fantastic weekend! It was really great to meet up with you guys. There were far too many cracking basses for me to pick a favourite. Loved Joe's Sadowsky, Bob's Pedulla and ACG, Peters Spector amongst many others. Thanks to Alan and Peter for a fab weekend and the guys for bringing such great gear along! Cheers, paul

    I've heard not too good things said about new Ampeg combos (although I've never used one). First thoughts would be a Trace Elliot 15" combo. The 300w ones are pretty powerful and quite versatile tone wise. Not sure if it dose the Ampeg thing but I bet it wont be too far off and you can get them pretty cheep!

    Well I'm a little bias towards them as I've spent years owning various other basses and now I believe Precisions are for me. I must be very lucky as I dont think I've ever owned one of the 'bad' ones! My current '73 is my 5th seventies Precision. I've also owned newer American ones (but alas not the latest) and various Japanese types. The US current reissues I believe are great, 'GreenKing' will tell you! But for almost the same money there are some peaches of early '70s ones out there and I didnt pay ridiculous money for mine (and its as light as a feather) !

    I still haven't been able to try one! Each time I go in to Birmingham's PMT they never have one. I owned an '01 Precision and foolishly sold it because IMHO it was one of the best P basses I've played.
