1. Most of the time when I try a bass in the shop I play it unplugged and if I like the feel of it etc I'll ask the guy if I can plug it in then make a complete arse of myself!
2. Sunday morning hangover kind of BUMP!
3. Im pretty sure that this bass was for sale at the Gallery in London some months ago. As I was interested in it I emailed them for more pics. Thats when I saw the two holes and that put me off buying it. On reflection I think I was being a bit fussy but the asking price was around £1700 and I would have had to part ex my '78 and still find a boat load of cash. What a lovely bass though.
4. I had one once. One of the few basses I had new. (From the Gallery London). Really good quality and some great tones.
5.
Sell your lakland to me.
Ok Then!
6. Blimey Russ, If I could I'd have it back in a shot. Somebody buy my Lakland!
7. This is doing nothing to ease my Fender GAS chaps! Lovely basses there.
8. BUMPO with a bit of a price drop!
9.
ahh ok, my bad. when did that way of doing serial numbers come in then?
1976 along with the new decal. The S/N was on the headstock rather than the neck plate. That dose look a lovely bass.
10. Flaming bargain dodgy jack or not! I had one of these some years ago but it was a boring black one. The colour is fantastic, I love it. Cracking basses. I got mine from PMT in Brum and I sold my Stingray to fund it! They're that good!
11.
...there was one for sale at my local store: Absolute - it looked like a BG to me so I emailed Dan Lakin - this is his reply: "That was actually A Duck Dunn special edition. It is basically a Glaub with a gold anodized pickguard. Only 30 were actually made." So quite the collectors item. However, after owning a BG and now a DD - this is deffo a BG. ShaunB
This one belongs to me now. Maybe it was a bit pricey (although I didn't pay the asking price) but its as new. Lovely, lovely bass!
12.
Well I can feel the vibes from all the music my Precision must have played over the years buzzing through it....it's very strange, but very inspiring. Maybe that's all bollocks, but I believe it.
That Precision had a bit of a rough time with some dodgy chancer from Telford. I really hope you dont pick any of them vibes up! True though, I've owned some great basses over the years. Stingrays, Warwicks, Sandbergs, G&L, Laklands, Rickenbacker.... But what is it with an old beat up Fender? Why so special? It feels and sounds so 'right'.
13. It certainly flicks my switch! And a few little dinks wouldn't bother me.
14. I had a play on this bass when it was in the shop and loved it but after all its a Sandberg. Nuff said!
15. Here's the original listing: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...&hl=lakland I acquired the bass in a trade recently and to be honest its not my cup of tea. I'm used to P-basses and I find I have nowhere to rest my thumb when playing. Fussy 'eh? But that's me! Its true what everybody says about these, the sound is massive and very versatile. The preamp allows you to set the mid range frequencies which gives you endless tone possibilities. I took it to a gig tonight and was thoroughly impressed with the sound but I struggled a bit with it. I know if I keep it I'll never really use it which is daft. I'd be looking for £500 cash or trades considered Cheers
16. I guess sunbursts are more desirable (I'd love one) but I got my black one for a bargain by comparison. I wish I had something to trade... its stunning.
17. £250 Sounds a bargain to me! Whats its RMS?
18.
This one looked pretty... i don't think there is a Tobacco burst W/maple fretboard one here? Anyway, i'm a P-Bass man at heart, i just thought if it was a good price it might've been worth buying - but evidently not Cheers for all the info chaps!
Stingrays were my main bass for about ten years. Then I went back to Precisions. For Stingray money you should consider Laklands or Sandbergs as they do great 'Precision' basses.

20. Traded a Shuker for a Lakland and a pleasure it was too! Cheers Chris.
21.
I applaud String Busters and DR's...
+1 and +1! Great all round.
22.
I don't think those maths work lol Good luck with the sale though, this looks like a beaut! Still never tried a Shuker electric Si
I see what you mean! Not worded too well me thinks
