    Flaming bargain dodgy jack or not! I had one of these some years ago but it was a boring black one. The colour is fantastic, I love it. Cracking basses. I got mine from PMT in Brum and I sold my Stingray to fund it! They're that good!

True though, I've owned some great basses over the years. Stingrays, Warwicks, Sandbergs, G&L, Laklands, Rickenbacker.... But what is it with an old beat up Fender? Why so special? It feels and sounds so 'right'.

I'm used to P-basses and I find I have nowhere to rest my thumb when playing. Fussy 'eh? But that's me! Its true what everybody says about these, the sound is massive and very versatile. The preamp allows you to set the mid range frequencies which gives you endless tone possibilities. I took it to a gig tonight and was thoroughly impressed with the sound but I struggled a bit with it. I know if I keep it I'll never really use it which is daft. I'd be looking for £500 cash or trades considered Cheers

    I guess sunbursts are more desirable (I'd love one) but I got my black one for a bargain by comparison. I wish I had something to trade... its stunning.

Then I went back to Precisions. For Stingray money you should consider Laklands or Sandbergs as they do great 'Precision' basses.

    What it boils down to is that after doing my sums today I need the money pure and simple. I only got this what seems like a few weeks ago and has been my pride and joy. The pictures don't do it any justice as the quality is outstanding. There's not a mark on it. Here's the spec from Mr. Shuker 4 string thru neck 34" scale 24 frets wenge, paduak, maple laminated neck ebony f/board medium fretwire two way adjustable truss rod myrtlewood head veneer black walnut body core myrtlewood facings (front and rear) polyester basecoat gloss polyurethane topcoat black hardware schaller 2000 bridge EMG Hz pickups EMG BQS 3 band circuit Gotoh tuners Here's some pics So there it is. I paid £900 so I would be looking for the same. I would rather not post the bass as I dont have a hard case at the moment so its collection or possible meet up. Cheers, Paul

There's obviously a lot of work gone into getting the bass to that level of 'relic' and the attention to detail is second to none. I'd love a '60s Precision' like this but I just dont think I would pay more than £700 second hand but thats just me.
