...there was one for sale at my local store: Absolute - it looked like a BG to me so I emailed Dan Lakin - this is his reply: "That was actually A Duck Dunn special edition. It is basically a Glaub with a gold anodized pickguard. Only 30 were actually made." So quite the collectors item. However, after owning a BG and now a DD - this is deffo a BG. ShaunB
This one belongs to me now. Maybe it was a bit pricey (although I didn't pay the asking price) but its as new. Lovely, lovely bass!
Well I can feel the vibes from all the music my Precision must have played over the years buzzing through it....it's very strange, but very inspiring. Maybe that's all bollocks, but I believe it.
That Precision had a bit of a rough time with some dodgy chancer from Telford. I really hope you dont pick any of them vibes up! True though, I've owned some great basses over the years. Stingrays, Warwicks, Sandbergs, G&L, Laklands, Rickenbacker.... But what is it with an old beat up Fender? Why so special? It feels and sounds so 'right'.

Here's the original listing: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...&hl=lakland I acquired the bass in a trade recently and to be honest its not my cup of tea. I'm used to P-basses and I find I have nowhere to rest my thumb when playing. Fussy 'eh? But that's me! Its true what everybody says about these, the sound is massive and very versatile. The preamp allows you to set the mid range frequencies which gives you endless tone possibilities. I took it to a gig tonight and was thoroughly impressed with the sound but I struggled a bit with it. I know if I keep it I'll never really use it which is daft. I'd be looking for £500 cash or trades considered Cheers
This one looked pretty... i don't think there is a Tobacco burst W/maple fretboard one here? Anyway, i'm a P-Bass man at heart, i just thought if it was a good price it might've been worth buying - but evidently not Cheers for all the info chaps!
Stingrays were my main bass for about ten years. Then I went back to Precisions. For Stingray money you should consider Laklands or Sandbergs as they do great 'Precision' basses.

Traded a Shuker for a Lakland and a pleasure it was too! Cheers Chris.

What it boils down to is that after doing my sums today I need the money pure and simple. I only got this what seems like a few weeks ago and has been my pride and joy. The pictures don't do it any justice as the quality is outstanding. There's not a mark on it. Here's the spec from Mr. Shuker 4 string thru neck 34" scale 24 frets wenge, paduak, maple laminated neck ebony f/board medium fretwire two way adjustable truss rod myrtlewood head veneer black walnut body core myrtlewood facings (front and rear) polyester basecoat gloss polyurethane topcoat black hardware schaller 2000 bridge EMG Hz pickups EMG BQS 3 band circuit Gotoh tuners Here's some pics So there it is. I paid £900 so I would be looking for the same. I would rather not post the bass as I dont have a hard case at the moment so its collection or possible meet up. Cheers, Paul

Precision scratchplate arrived quickly and great care was taken with the packing to ensure it arrived undamaged. Cheers Pablo
Relatively cheap, too. I thought it would be twice that price.
I think the maple fingerboard ones go for more but I agree for what it is, its a good price.

Oh nuts, its US bidders only! Incredible

Exciting bidding pattern or am I just being cynical?
That's expensive for a bunch of Allparts bits that have been dragged behind a car.
I bet these basses are superb and I would love to have a play on one. There's obviously a lot of work gone into getting the bass to that level of 'relic' and the attention to detail is second to none. I'd love a '60s Precision' like this but I just dont think I would pay more than £700 second hand but thats just me.
