  1. Thank you! I knew we'd get there in the end.
  2. I've seen it. Its the one where Henry Fonda somehow convinces a jury to acquit a murdering teenager.
  3. Nothing is wrong! The issue is about any intent to deceive. None of those ads are deceptive! Saying the same thing over and over is not going to change anything. Luckily you have no say over how the site is run and I sincerely hope you have no say over anything else of any importance, because you're acting like a control freak. You're clutching at straws - give it up, already!
  4. And none are being sold as 'real' Fenders. No-one could be in any doubt about what they are being offered.
  5. Yeah, most of those are just accusing people of farting.
  6. He who articulated it, particulated it.
  7. You are a credit to the British worker. I bet the EU is quaking in its boots.
  8. You do not 'look stupid' in the slightest and none of this is in any way your fault! It's a very easy mistake to make if you don't spend most of your waking hours glued to your computer screen looking at bass guitars, like some people I could mention. I don't do that of course, I'm hardly ever here. I only popped in briefly because it's the holidays. You haven't damaged your reputation at all, if anything it has been enhanced by this thread! Calm down and carry on! Happy New Year!
  9. I'm all for that, as any bass I've sold here is always very clearly described - so if the site wants to issue an edict to the tune of 'all basses with aftermarket decals applied must be clearly described as such' that's fine by me, as it's what I do anyway. It's just common sense, really - but as is increasingly the case case with common sense, it seems to be getting less common all the time and people have to be legislated or otherwise prodded into doing the right thing. I blame education cuts.
  10. Thanks for that... I bet they all produced a similar amount of flatulence, so job done...
  11. One member. One bass. Potentially an issue, but in practice, probably not. eBay has nothing to do with BassChat, so that's one example. Just one. And that has proved to be down to a simple misunderstanding. So the number of incidences of the deliberate posting of a fake bass that had a a brand decal applied to it, thus making it seem like something that it wasn't, that was bought in error by a BassChat member thinking it was 'the real thing': Zero. Nil. None. Nix. Nada. I rest my case.
  12. Beans..? Bran Flakes..? Is there a pattern (and nothing else) emerging here?
  13. That comment was intended for Dad3353.
  14. Um... again... as a product, cornflakes are much of a muchness. The boxes however, differ wildly and so do their prices.
  15. It would allow BC's do-gooders and busybodies to twitch more curtains and dob-in perceived 'criminals'. Hang out more flags!
  16. Surely not if there are properly described as such so that the buyer is in no doubt about what they are buying? The issue (if any exists) is one of intention. If you intend to sell a Squier with a Fender decal on it as a Fender, then that is clearly wrong. To sell a Squier with a Fender decal on it described as 'a Squier with a Fender decal on it' is not, and many such Squiers (and bitzas) have been sold on this site without issue. In any case, the Fender/Squier thing is like the baked-bean situation. Many Squiers I've played have been at least as good, if not better than, many Mex and even US Fenders I've played, so it really just becomes a branding and marketing issue...
  17. That's what I'm saying, I wasn't aware of any such threat from owners of other trademarks. Have FMIC contacted BC on the subject?
  18. I learn the songs sufficiently well that any counting is automatic, or at least subconscious. I don't count the hotties either, I just allow my eyes to assist their charms in their exalted progress to and fro across the room. Which sounds a bit eighteenth-century, but it's really all about a rude, smelly old man in farty trousers ogling fragrant young women. Sorry.
  19. Don't see how you can do that without imposing a blanket ban on all bass guitar ads. Not good for BassChat - or its members - or its sponsors. As said earlier, the Rickenbacker (there, I said it) situation is unique in that the company's CEO is well-known for being extremely litigious. As far as I know, FMIC have not yet contacted this forum regarding copyright issues and given their track record, are very unlikely to do so.
  20. Um... that's pretty much what happens, only the cheaper brand are... cheaper. Supermarkets don't have their own baked bean factories obviously, they are all canned in the same place - only the labels are different. The perceived value of baked beans is in the premium label, which is what you pay extra for. The beans themselves are largely the same.
  21. Good, can I go and have my lunch, now? The label says 'Lobster Thermidor', but I suspect it may be own-brand fish fingers...
  22. Well there's your problem. If you go looking for trouble, you're going to find it.
