I hate those posts that go, 'If this were a four-string I'd be all over it'. But... if this were a four-string, I'd be all over it.

Very sad. CAN were, and still are, a big part of my life. I never considered them to be 'a band' more of a philosophy. Holger was one of the most innovative and interesting bass players ever.

It's useful to have a load of familiar bass cases hanging around in various rooms in the house - for stealth purposes. Some of 'em may have basses in them, some of them may not, who knows..??

Agree that you have to move air to hear proper bass and about the quality of source material. If you regularly listen to mp3s on a computer system then listen to a really good CD player or turntable through proper HiFi gear using big floorstanders like I did the other day, the difference is startling, if not emotionally overwhelming. Of course this doesn't help the OP much, sorry.
