1.
...The fit in the neck pocket is what amazed me the most for a Bass of this price point, it's super tight!
I'm guessing those Chinese CNC machines are on the money...
 2.
...the fact my PB-50's all had great necks, working tuners and decent bridges helped.
That's the thing, if you're happy with the nut width and fairly chunky handful, the PB-50 necks play very nicely. Great value, imho.
 3. Relax! Back in the day these people would be known as 'groupies'.
 4.
I thought donkeys were kind of grey?
I find it difficult to percieve consistency in my beliefs and opinons when touching a donkey, that's all.
 5. I'd say the red flags are fluttering with a vengance. Avoid! Unless they're hot, of course.
 6.
Just my trusty Peavey SF powered PB-50 left
Super-Ferrite..? My brief experience with those was very favourable, I can only imagine your SF PB-50 is a winner.
 7.
The tort and blue is an interesting one for me. I quite literally can't tell what's going on in my brain whenever I see it. I love it and feel a bit pukey at the same time. Burgundy Mist does the same thing. Congnitive Dissonance, I believe!
I know exactly what you mean. I get it sometimes when I'm grooming my donkey. Aeiough!
 8.
There was physical motion and a prop or two involved though.
Yes, I'm finding bathroom visits more challenging as I get older, too.
 9.
Now Mark, I've warned you about this sort of thing before.
You promised me you'd never post that pic in public!!
 10.
Would be a good bass for miming with.
Why do you say that..?
 11.
Looking and sounding great. Makes me want another one
How many have you got??
 12.
Mr Packaging also selling a used plastic pint pot http://r.ebay.com/3reBM3
That's the single most depressing item I've ever seen on eBay, and that includes Pamela Anderson's rat harness.
 13.
BF Midgets. Phenomenal light little things.
This, or at least something from (whisper it) Barefaced.
 14. That is 'jack of all trades and master of none' in bass guitar form. At least design-wise. It may of course be a fantastic player and sound great. But I'm shallow, so that doesn't matter. And tort with blue just plain doesn't work.
 15.
Sargasso Sea is a great favourite of mine from the ECM golden era.
+1. Very sad news.
 16.
Nice one - out of interest what happened to your last effort ?
I moved it on shortly after finishing it as I didn't really need it at the time. Plus I wanted to do another at some point. I think this one's a keeper though, especially after the time investment. Plus it's not worth much, so there's less chance of it ending up in the pawn shop...
 17.
Here's my HB-50 mod: I stripped the body and sprayed it gold and installed a Harley Benton lefty Jazz Bass neck to get closer to a Dusty Hill kind of vibe. I like the Wilkinson pickup. It sounds pretty good actually.
That is suh-weet! I want to do a body refin on the next one. I only changed my pup because HB don't fit a Wilkinson any more...
 18. HB PB-50 - Modded! v2.0 https://soundcloud.com/arkaymith/modded-hb-pb-50/s-7y2HZ Latest experiment in modifying a cheap bass to make it punch way above its weight - this is the second HB PB-50 I've modded. Basically it's had the headstock reshaped, neck tinted, pickup upgraded, bridge replaced and the pickguard resprayed so as to resemble a 54/56-type P Bass. It also has Fender Mex RW wiring, pots and jack output, Fender-style control knobs and a Fender string tree. The stock strings were iffy rounds, so I upgraded to LaBella 760FS flats. I've said this before, but the difference a good set of strings makes, even to a more affordable bass, is astonishing. Given that the necks on these are surprisingly good, the strings and the pickup (a Herrick Tele '51' Bass Single Coil) make the bass a joy to play and it sounds great. Compared with my last effort, the headstock is a much more accurate shape and of course the new pickup makes a huge difference. I knocked the gloss off the bodywork and hardware with a Scotchbrite pad as I don't like 'new' basses. I don't like the Angle-Grinder School of bass relic work either, so it's fairly subtle. I didn't tint the back of the neck as the stock satin finish plays very well as it is. I may yet replace the tuners as the tuner posts are the 'hourglass' type that force you to have the string resting in the middle of the post, whereas I prefer to wind the string down to the bottom of the post to get a better break angle over the nut. It would also be an opportunity to get the reverse vintage type which of course would be more in keeping with the vibe. Thanks to Davie (kodiakblair) for the headstock template and John (KiOgon) for the control knobs.
 19. No-one listens to the bass anyway.
 20.
...it wasn't the first time I've experienced that, but the other times haven't involved anything you can get on prescription!
Oh yes, that Camomile tea can get pretty freaky.
 21. What can you say about John that's not been said over 14 pages of positive feedback? I was having a problem finding the right control knobs for my P Bass... 1/4" Solid Shaft pot knobs aren't as abundant as one would suppose. Of course John sorted me out in double-quick time and at a very fair price too. Thanks very much mate, another fine transaction.
 22. Definitely get an X-Ray if you haven't already. Personally I'd load up on powerful painkillers and do both gigs, but I'm reckless. Not reckless enough to ride a motorbike however, I gave it up when my son was born...
