1.
I did that and he said it would be a great rig. I just thought that maybe the 12" may suit the LB better as that's the popular cab for them.
I'm fairly sure the Two10 would sound amazing paired with a valve amp. However I've not tried mine with a valve amp - yet.
  2.
...for the first time I no longer have any GAS.
Me neither. At least not cab GAS.
  3. You can't teach dinosaurs anything anyway - they're ignorant bastards. That's why they're extinct.

  5.
I suspect I'm more ostrich than chicken, head buried deep in the sand.
I wouldn't worry too much - it shows you are a man of rare taste and discernment, frankly.
  6.
Out of interest, is that a typical covers band set list? I ask as there are only 2 bands on the list I've actually heard of! I knew I was out of touch, but I didn't know how far!
There are only one or two I haven't heard of and I'm certainly no spring chicken!
  7. Haven't read the entire thread - first impressions, it's a standard covers band set. If you could do with the cash, take the gig and meanwhile look for something that suits you better. No shame in that. It's better than the biscuit factory. The other choice is to 'not gig' with your other band and have them continue to piss you off. No-brainer, I would have thought.
  8.
Paid Mark a deposit yesterday for a 63 P in Fiesta Red. Just waiting patiently now!
I don't think not actually having the bass yet is any excuse not to post a few pics...
  9. Larry Knechtel was one of the Doors' secret bass players, at least on some of their most significant recordings. There were others who subsequently played on other albums... http://ultimateclass...s-bass-players/
  10.
... now I am confused here, I was under the impression that you wandered around Wales in the nude and killed people with a penknife.
That's alternate weekends when there's an 'R' in the month.
  11. Got a very nice deal on some acoustic tiles from Tom. Very smooth, great comms, fast postage and an all-round happy transaction as always! Highly recommended. Thanks very much, mate.
  12.
I was going to reply, hot with righteous indignation. But, in the balance, you are probably right
Facts are facts and it's all relative. I wander around in the nude and tell people I kill whales with a penknife.
  13.
Pics or it didn't happen!
14.
Unless, of course, you don't like the sound, find it not quite loud enough and not quite light enough. Like I did I do know I am in a minority, though.
I can only give my opinion of course. And you're a weirdo.
  15. The Fender Rumble V3 500 Combo is a perfect gigging amp. Loud, light, easy to get a good sound. It's 350 watts max without an extension cab, but I doubt you'll need it, because it's well powerful. Recommended. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/278752-ncd-new-combo-day-fender-rumble-500-v3/
  16.
Are these still available?
No.
  17. Yes, but I'm shallow. A bass could be the best in the world (for me), but if I don't like the look of it then... not happening.

Alan bought my cajon bag. All good, fast payment, great comms. Recommended.
  19. Bought a Zoom B1on from Wayne. All good, swift delivery and great comms. Recommended.
  20. Nice work. Are you going to tint the neck?
  21.
I'm guessing it won't take a 9v battery?
It WILL take a 9v battery.
  22.
...if you want a Jazz bass sound I'd recommend getting a Jazz bass.
23.
I suppose if you are a big Bowie fan it's all going to be a disappointment as it's not Bowie and never will be as long as he remains dead.
Absolutely. The sooner he comes back to life the better, as far as I'm concerned.
