[/quote] I too bought a Road Worn P and predictably, it's the best Precision I've had in forty years of owning Precisions. Silly money for what you get (especially second-hand). It plays superbly and genuinely has that vintage P low-mid thump with that little bit of high-mid snap. The necks are fantastic on these, best you will see anywhere other than on a pre-CBS. Don't get hung-up about the heel-end truss rod adjustment, it's [i]really [/i]not an issue. You are unlikely to see a classic one-piece maple P neck with skunk stripe, walnut cavity plug, 7.25" radius and 1.75" nut width that has the truss rod adjuster anywhere else but the heel-end, so get over it! Any perceived inconvenience is negligible compared with how good these necks are.

[/quote] I was having the electrics replaced because of a dodgy volume pot and John recommended the Sprague Pacer, which works very well. I wouldn't say it's necessarily better than the stock cap, but it IS different. I take the points about doing all your EQ work from the amp, but it is useful to have a fundamental tone option at your fingertips which can be very quickly changed between songs and even during songs. When I had an active it was convenient to have EQ options on the bass, but I don't like actives, so the passive treble-cut is what you get!

Got an orange Sprague Pacer 0.1uF cap in my Road Worn Precision, it has definitely made [i]some [/i]difference. Which you really only hear as you roll off the tone control, i.e. it seems to cut more treble so you get a slightly more vintage, velvety tone than the stock cap. It has a different value than the original.

Wow. Given the size of the cab, that's incredibly light! My original Jack 12 build was 18kg.

A 500W Class D amp and a Barefaced One10 weighs less than 10kg. I'd also consider (as you did) The Rumble V3 100W, which would be less hassle to use (no separates) and is also 10kg.
