2.
think of it this way, if you got another 2x10 you would have a modular rig but you would have to stack them vertically...
I wouldn't have to stack them vertically. As long as they were the same I wouldn't suffer too much OCD. I'd also need an amp that would happily run at 2ohms, too.
 3.
I wonder this too. I'm heavily considering a Classic 50s Precision but the heel truss rod adjustment seems like it would be a pain; would be very annoying if the only reason is purely because that's how it was done back in the day.
Er... if the truss rod adjustment wasn't at the heel, it wouldn't be a Classic 50s Precision, would it? Anyway, it's easy once you've done it a couple of times. Like sex. Edit: If you're considering a Classic 50s P, you should really also consider a Road Worn. A better bass, imho.
 4.
Damn.

...you sure, cos the barefaced 4x10 is like 2 2x10s in one handy package, just with a bit more heft, and we all like a bit more heft
Well I'm not a regular 4X10 guy... but as you say, a Barefaced 4X10 is a completely different kettle of fish... hmm... dammit. Oh well, I've got a month to think about it and get the extra cash together.
 5.
I can hear on my "studio" headphones that SPB-1 sounds thinner. Stock pickup got more lows... unfortunately.

After all I can turn up a bit lows on my amp...
Well, I had a custom bass for which I specified an SPB-1 and I did a fair number of gigs with it - sounded great turned up loud and locked in with a decent drummer. I got lots of compliments on my sound too. So it can't be that bad. You don't want a load of low end swooshing around on stage anyway - it's highly overrated.
 6. I think the pickup you're most happy with is the right choice. The stock pickup does sound more lush in the sound clip. But I think the SPB-1 would be more useful in a mix as it has some mid-shenanigans going on and is more 'classic P Bass' to my ears. It would sit very nicely with the kick drum and you would be heard. So you need to try the SPB-1 in a band (or recording) situation. If you're in a band, that is.
 7.
...suppose the natural progression here is a 4x10, you know you want to
Nah, I'm not a 4X10 person. I am however an 8X10 person, but even I think that would be overkill for a country band. If I were going to play RAWK I'd either go for an Eight10 or possibly three Two10s. With an Ampeg SVT-CL. But the Two10 seems as if it will most likely be more than adequate for my current needs.
 8.
Well thats just it. They could easily cut an inset into the bass body large enough for easy truss rod adjusting (rather than just getting away with it), and being covered by the scratchplate it would not effect its vintage authenticity to look at. Simple innovation.
Yeah, that's no fun at all though, is it? WAY too easy.
 9.
...does anyone know why any bass manufacture today would design a neck/truss rod system that would require the neck being loosened or removed to alter relief? It just seems bizarre!

Because it's based on a 61 and that's how they did it. Same as reverse tuners
If you're careful you can usually get away with removing just the pick guard and leaving the neck in situ. I have this system on my Road Worn P and various others that have been through my hands. I don't find it too much of a chore. The bass is pretty much as per a 57 so it would be weird to have a headstock bullet-type affair. I prefer my one-piece maple neck with skunk stripe to have a walnut cavity plug at the headstock, so there.
 10.
I have one and it is very clear and loud. Amazing for the size.
It is! Even though it's more than twice the size of the One10, it still seems very tiny given the huge sound that comes out of it.
 11.
...did you tell them it would be an only cab, or that you wanted to stack it vertically?
I told them it would be a single cab solution, hence 4ohms - and I also told them I'd want to use it vertically, hence the logo in the 'One10' position.
...can you stack your one ten on top for extra faceness?
The Two10 is 4ohms and the One10 is 8ohms - I don't have an amp that could cope with 2.66ohms. And as I don't actually have the One10 any more anyway, it's a moot point.
 12.
You've gone all "arty and black and white " Lovely looking cab.
The cab is black and white and grey and silver, so...

 14.
A black, HH Bongo most tempting so far, but I know I don't get on with fully active basses . Shame, cos black Bongos look the poodle's privates.
You could always make it passive??
 15.
I'm getting a bit demoralised by playing in bands.
Don't let them get to you. There are good musicians out there. They may still be assholes, but if they can actually play it helps a lot.
It's worth pressing them sometimes. They might just not be aware of how awful it sounds to everyone else.
Tru, dat. I sometimes get results by being persistent. IME guitarists in particular seem to be on the spectrum for some reason, so if you can explain clearly and logically why you think they should do something, it sometimes works... but sometimes not.
 16.
Only iffy one for me is number 9 - in order to convert people they have to see you. So surely the more who see you the more you can convert.
I took it to mean that it's quality over quantity - i.e. not much point accepting every single gig you can get if they're mainly crap?
 17.
I bought a bass guitar book with lots of J.S.Bach compositions in it and I try and learn them, I thought I was progressing nicely on one of them, then I listened to someone play it on youtube and I felt like binning my bass, the guy played the same tune I was playing at like quadruple the tempo ;(
That probably means he was playing it wrong. Fast playing doesn't mean good playing, especially on bass guitar. Restraint and good taste is where it's at. Though he wasn't exactly restrained, you can't get much more tasteful than J S Bach, it's true. There are some good bass players on YouTube - but a hell of a lot more who are not so good. Don't compare yourself with them, you're not in competition with anyone else. Play to your strengths. I'm influenced by Bach, but I don't let the fact that I can't play much of his work get me down. I'm not in a J S Bach cover band. He didn't write too many pieces specifically for electric bass, anyway.
 18. Agree with all ten points.
 19. It's unusual if a day passes and I don't play bass for somewhere between three and four hours. We do lots of gigs and play at least two long sets at each, but we don't rehearse as a band as much as I'd like to. People have other life-based things they need to do, apparently. I've never understood it myself.
 20.
I've heard the normal Road Worn (50's P , 60'S J ) are soon to be discontinued.
I would urge everyone to buy a 'normal' Road Worn before this happens!
 21.
Bare essentials = 1 bass, 1 lead and 1 amp, surely?
I don't think I'd be comfortable without at least a pair of pants and a shirt...
 22.
Light purple? Lilac? At least it's not pink
Nor is it fiesta red. Thppp!!
 23.
...burgundy mist.
Well that's just purple.
 24.
I like these videos https://youtu.be/QZY96eMBAmA
That's funny - I did a short audio piece in my review of the Sire V7 Marcus Miller Jazz using the same backing track! http://www.mediafire.com/download/7r52va7c65qarzq/JB+Groove.wav
