1.
This bass is quite likely to be staying as t'other looks to be on its way.
That's good. It's the wrong colour anyway.
 2. Steve bought a bass from me - superfast payment and great comms throughout. He was even tolerant of PorcelFarce, who for some reason didn't pick up the package on the day they said they would and made me look a right arse. But all's well that ends well. Recommended buyer! All good! Thanks, Steve!
 3.
Incidentally, Your old Limelights serial number when entered into the database comes up with 1962 not 1963.
That's probably why it's got a slab board, then. But I'm not sure it's got the correct amount of patent numbers under the logo for a 62. Maybe it's one of those rare transition basses. Or maybe I'll be a little bit more careful with my spec next time.
 4. Had the 'called to collect your parcel but no-one was in' card last Friday. I was in. Expressly for the purpose. With no TV or music on. With my eyes and ears out on stalks. Looking out of the window every five minutes. And touching cloth. Yet still a ParcelForce Ninja managed to get a card through my door without me noticing. Believe me, there was NO knock on the door and NO ring of the doorbell. When they eventually turned up the following Monday I was told the error was due to 'a foreign bloke who is learning the route'. He must also very quickly be learning stealth letterbox work and silent van driving as well. Pshaw!!
 5.
Well, you can, actually... buy a Limelight bass, sell it, then get massive seller's remorse. Twice.

Ultimately it's good - because it means I can now order another Limelight P. Only in white, this time.
 6. White and maple are very definitely my thing and that is a cracker. Welcome to the white bass club.
 7.
... or died of old age..?
I think the euphemism is 'passed on through natural causes'. Or as I like to say, 'gone tits-up'.
 8.
Can't go wrong really!
Well, you can, actually... buy a Limelight bass, sell it, then get massive seller's remorse. Twice.
 9. Yes, I see that now. But it's not.
 10. Wouldn't have thought purple/gold/maple would work but it does, brilliantly. LIKE!
 11.
Even out of sight, there is still a risk. I can understand some gear in certain situations, but never instruments.
Yes there is still a risk, but unless someone actually sees you put the instruments in the car, it's far less likely you're going to have someone break into your car on the off-chance compared with instruments in plain view. In any case I'll always take a bass with me, I'd only leave something like a cab in the boot (out of sight) and even then it'd only be for a very short time.
 12. I really don't know. Do you mean instruments unattended in a vehicle that can be seen? I do sometimes very briefly leave stuff in the car, but only if I can get it under the hatchback cover, out of sight. I'd never leave stuff in a car for an extended period, or overnight.
 13.
Does that cable actually reach the socket like that?
Eh? Yes. That's a picture of the cable securely plugged in at either end. Admittedly my photographic skills aren't all that, but yes, the cable actually reaches the socket like that. The Speakon at the cab end is a 90-degree angled job.
 14.
OK, but be sure to specify air holes so it can breathe.

Good point, cheers Discreet.
Were you joking as well? Only I forgot to add a '' in my post.
 15. It really just the ports that are scruffy. Easy enough to fettle, and could turn out to be a bargain if the innards are OK, as stated.
 16. Not sure about the 'heavy, solid wood' though.
 17.
Bands come and go but mates is mates.
That is true enough, but no point rocking the boat unless there's a very good reason.
 18.
If they are great mates surley they will understand and if you are upfront about it maybe they will allow you to go and try it out, and if they turn out to be ,for better or worse, asshats, maybe you can jump back in?
I wouldn't feel I needed a band's permission to check out other bands! The OP doesn't need to say anything for starters - he can surely see if something's going to work or not elsewhere before needing to tell his current band he's leaving. Obviously give them good notice and help them out if necessary while they find a replacement, etc - but it's down to the individual to decide what they want to do in this situation. IMHO.
 19.
The new band could all be a bunch of asshats.....
That almost certainly goes without saying, but if they're asshats that can play, it may be worth it.
 20. So different colour, different pick guard, different board and we're sorted.
