1. Here's a little addition I've been considering... shall I..? Makes the guard a little more acceptable, imho.
 2.
Great little amps, big fan of mine! Surprised you're putting this up for sale mate!
Thanks Mel! I know - I keep buying them, selling them, then regretting it.
 3. Sold Rich an Aguilar TH350 and Schroeder 1212L cab - ages ago! He left feedback this morning which reminded me I hadn't left any, either! What an arse! (Me, not him). Good to finally meet up after all the correspondence Rich, I know you're enjoying the gear! Thanks!
 4.
I know a keyboard player who's using a ONE10 for the low end of his sound, being driven by an MB200, and he doesn't like it. Too sterile according to him.
To be fair though it IS a bass amp. And he IS a keyboard player.
 5.
Now I just wear incontinence pants.
Tena Lady Discreet..? For women who like to piss themselves laughing, if their ad is anything to go by.
 6.
It's easy enough to have a quick tweak during the first song.
I suppose if you have your bass slung low enough you can get away with it.
 7. Yes, I've owned and played both. The TH350 is a good amp, though if you're not into knob-fiddling you may find it frustrating as the EQ takes a while to come to terms with. The controls are very interactive. The MB200 is a plug-and-play job, it's very hard to get a bad sound out of it and its core tone is really excellent. Set and forget, concentrate on your playing. I like both, but for convenience of setting up and portability I would choose the MB200. It's also a LOT more affordable. However, in no way does it sound cheap - it shares a lot of tone with its bigger brothers, all highly-regarded amps. The MB200 does the GK thing but it's very versatile. I've been using mine in a country band playing a P with La Bellas and it produces a nice warm thump if you want it. The Aguilar has a great reputation, but it's telling I sold mine quite a while before I considered selling my MB200. Edit: I'm not just saying all this because I have an MB200 for sale, honest Guv!!
 8.
...it does still leave the issue of the dreaded tuning song if you've had to use the sound-guys DI-box before the amp.
Occupational hazard. I'll carry a headstock tuner for that eventuality. I think people are WAY too OCD about being in tune, anyway.
 9.
It'll do the job just fine without drums and would have a fair chance even with drums.
I've used it with two different drummers in two different bands - one of which was a right shed-builder - and had the gain at 12 o'clock. With a One10 you'd definitely have no problem. It's a loud amp for 200W! Which just goes to show that watt ratings mean little.
 10. Steve sold me a Markbass Mark Stand. Great comms, arrived in very good time, smooth transaction. Recommended!
 11.
I assume the built-in tuner on any amp is more there for home practice over gigging; everyone uses pedal tuners for gigs don't they? Which would make sense as it's easier not to use a pedal at home if you're just having a quick noodle.
Actually I dislike pedal tuners for a number of reasons and have been using a headstock tuner at home and for gigs. The problem is at gigs it can get noisy in the room and as the tuner relies on vibration to work properly, sufficient racket in the room will skew the accuracy of the tuning. I'll certainly be using the on-board tuner in the MiniMax at gigs. The button which activates the tuner is also a mute, so it will be quick and easy to check tuning between numbers if necessary. Especially with our singer, who likes to ramble on a bit between numbers.
 12. It's a pretty mad premise though isn't it? Obviously this looks a bit like BM's guitar... but he never played bass and certainly never had a bass that matched his guitar, so it seems a bit ill thought-out to me.
 13.
It's how we always start the day... numbs us to the bitter reality of it all.
Damn that bitter reality.
 14.
I'm just firing up the pot in the office...
Wow, you must have a very liberal and understanding boss. Cool!
 15. *SOLD* Gallien-Krueger MB200 Specifications: http://www.gallien-k...om/mb-200-specs I'm definitely going to be keeping my recently-acquired Peavey MiniMax (the on-board tuner proved irresistible) and though logically I should probably keep this little MB200 as an emergency/spare/backup amp, I don't much like having gear knocking around that I'm not really using and I'm not very logical, so up for grabs is this fine Gallien-Krueger MB200... It's really tiny - 7.75" wide, 1.75" high (without rubber feet) and 8" deep. If you're viewing this on a desktop monitor, the pic of the front is slightly larger than actual size. It'll fit into any gig bag, no problem. It's light, too - less than 1kg (2lb). 200W RMS @ 4ohms and 140W RMS @ 8ohms. It's very simple, very small, very light and it sounds very good. It's also very affordable, especially at this price. You could consider this a back-up amp, a purpose for which it is well-suited due to its size, but it's really very much better than that - if you're on a budget, or you just don't need a massively loud amp (and really, no-one needs a massively loud amp - that's just marketing) then this is for you. It'll handle most gigs no problem, unless you're in Metallica. Like the rest of the G-K MB range, you don't need a preamp or sound-shaper in front of this little beast - it sounds just great straight out of the box, it's totally plug and play. And its convenience, portability, simplicity, power and tone make it almost irresistible. Amp is in full working condition with no issues. Cosmetic condition is very good, there is a tiny ding on the front of the case at the top but it's hardly noticeable. There are one or two light scratches on the case in keeping with the amp being used, but again they're minimal and of course do not interfere with the normal function of the amp. I'd like £155 paid via bank transfer only please and this will include despatch via Royal Mail Special Delivery Next Day before 1pm and will need to be signed for. I will PM the buyer an ETA and tracking information. My feedback link is in my sig. Thanks for looking.
 16. Two here that I've used and liked: http://www.daddario....52-0ffc21bd25f1 http://www.korg.com/...ners/pitchclip/ Accurate, easy to use and not too heavy on batteries. The Korg Pitchclip is a one-button job which is way less confusing at gigs! Best to leave them on during your performance though, I'm forever losing mine. I've got an amp with a built-in tuner now, which frankly is a bit of a relief.
 17.
have you heard of Tim Allen? He does very good pickguards and is highly regarded
If that's Scratch-It, he doesn't do 3-ply guards - just 1 ply and with no bevel. It might not be his site, however.
 18.
They made a Heft switch, turned it all the way up & then broke it off! It's small but has heft
You could say the Punch and/or the Psycho Acoustic buttons introduce heft, but I think it'll be hefty enough without them.
Ah! But is it 'better' than a Rumble 500 Combo?
Like the aftermath of a roast chicken dinner, 'remains to be seen'.
 19.
Mint. It's crying out for mint.
I agree, but I promised to keep the pearl for a while longer and see if I can live with it (I don't think I can live with it).
I believe John Mc Vie from Fleetwood Mac uses a Lakland these days, Although I'm sure he uses sensible strings.
What have you got against sticks of rhubarb??
 20.
Am I the only one the childishly sniggers at NAD ?
No (snigger).

 22.
Good grief! That's stupidily large
It's all relative...

Dimensions: 10.75" width x 3.25" height x 6.625" depth
Weight: 5.6 lbs
23.
Also, although it's superficial, I do love the maple neck look!
I see it now! Nothing superficial about a maple neck, it's an important consideration. I have had rosewood fingerboards and they're fine, it's just that I always come back to maple. For one thing, it's easier to see what you're doing on a dark stage...
 24. The G-K MB200 you can easily get in your gig bag, especially if you take the feet off. The MiniMax, not so much.
 25.
I used to love the punch and bright switches on my peavey TNT, especially in a live setting
Well there you go. I'll certainly be checking it all out at the weekend. However there is a TNT in our rehearsal room and I tend to use it flat and not use the punch and bright switches, so obviously it's quite subjective. I'm aiming for a very warm, clean and straight-ahead sound in my current band. There are no pyrotechnics or solo FX-laden set-pieces from this bass player, that's for sure.
