1.
But why would eminence not make something like it to sell for themselves?
You'd have to ask Alex about that. Maybe it only works properly in a Barefaced-designed cab? Alex has patented the design? He has an exclusivity deal with Eminence..? Eminence aren't interested in it? I really don't know.
 2.
I don't doubt the maths and science behind all this but, in real world situations, if Barefaced cabs were truly twice as loud as competitor equivalents, why are they the only ones building cabs with drivers like this?
The 10CR250 driver is exclusive to Barefaced as far as I can make out from the information on their website. "The One10 contains a unique high output 10CR250 driver, designed by Barefaced and custom made by Eminence in the USA."
 3.
Thanks - my thinking was it would be useful to describe the difference - given they are both 110 cabs. Maybe it would be easier to say, if we say the EBS NEO 110 is a good 110 cab, what does the BFOne 10 offer over and above a good 110 cab, what does the BFOne 10 loose over a good 110 cab?
You're thinking that the One10 is going to sound like a 110 cab. The point I was trying to make is that to compare it with any existing 110 cab is fairly meaningless. Having said that, I haven't heard all of them, of course.
 4. Barefaced One10, G-K MB200. That is all.
 5.
...very excited about this one, can't wait to have it in my hands...
I can't wait either, I'd like to know how the 'P-Bass with Jazz pickups' thing goes.
 6.
...flapping like a wizard's sleeve.
Um.. are you sure that's what you mean??
 7.
Oh very good.
Aw see, that makes me think that it's not.
 8.
The cornet player in question was a lady in my case, but I didn't do no dirty with her.
Ha! So YOU say. I bet she gave you the horn. Fnarr! Fnarr!
 9.
My guitarist friend and I got fired from a gig backing a Country and Western singer/guitarist. The sackable offence was switching to a reggae version half way through "Help Me Make It Through The Night". We were young and daft at the time but in fairness we richly deserved it.
Ha! Ha! Bit of a no-no, really.
Start a rumour that you're shagging the cornet player in a band where handfuls of psychedelics are viewed as a acceptable breakfast.
Christ, that must have been some psychedelic band to have a cornet player in it! The only cornet player I've ever worked with was a 20-stone bald bloke. I don't much like the idea of saying I shagged him just to get fired...
 10. You'd have a job stealing that without a flatbed truck, but I take your point.
 11. I've never been fired from a band. Obviously I'm not trying hard enough. Or more likely I always see the writing on the wall and resign well before being sacked.
 12.
Where is this from?
http://barefacedbass.com/technical-information/generation-three-enclosures.htm
 13.
Try recording yourself playing to a drum track or metronome, even if its using something basic like a phone voice recording app, that will show up errors that you might not be concious of while actually playing.
Good advice, and not just for drums.
 14. I'm pretty sure this has been posted before, but it's up for sale again... http://andybaxterbass.com/details.php?id=1046 Though I think even if I could afford it I probably wouldn't buy it!
 15.
Play along with a lot of Stax, Atlantic and Malaco records. And keep at it. You'll get good in the end.
+1 May as well learn from the best.
 16.
Apologies to Discreet for bringing this up, and any resulting existential angst, but we A/B'd the One 10 with a G-K MB 200 and an MB Fusion 500 the other night. The 200 was good but IMO (and that of all assembled, well not quite, we didn't ask the drummer, obviously) the Fusion 500 was in a different class. Of course, the 200 is far cuter.
The G-K MB500 Fusion is in my opinion one of the best - if not THE best - lightweight Class D amps available and is the one amp I regret selling (apart from a hand-wired 1974 Burman MPA Pre and Burman SL100 Powerpak with original Mullard valves - but it was too heavy) and there is definitely another Fusion in my future. However as long as I remain in my current band the MB200 will sustain me until that day comes, when it will be demoted to back-up amp or more probably sold (as it will have become expendable) to help fund that week's GAS...
 17.
Does anyone have any experience as to how these compare to EBS Neo 110 Cabs?
I've not heard an EBS Neo 110, but it may not be particularly useful to compare a One10 with any other 110. The 10CR250 driver in the One10 moves a lot of air, allegedly - 'basically like a good 15" or 2X10" in that respect' - according to the blurb. I wouldn't know about that, but the LOUD sounds very nice and is definitely kept inside this little box somewhere, I can tell you that much. http://barefacedbass...range/one10.htm
Outstanding leadinge
I thank 'ee, Captain.
 18.
http://basschat.co.u..._1#entry3005362 I've never used one, but lots of people refer to them being extremely loud for their conservative rating...
That's what I heard too. And they are supposed to be Tone City though I've not auditioned one.
 19.
I am so upset that I am considering flouncing off AND taking all my toys home with me
Not the toys??!!
 20.
I was not suggesting that the BF One10 would be moving at all.
Sorry I quoted you in error.
 21.
Surely you need dampening to stop panels vibrating not bracing. Won't bracing just strengthen the panels, so they can be thinner with the same strength?
Barefaced bracing is part of the structure. The cabs are also well-damped.
 22.
I have what might be deemed a stupid question .... if I'm correct the BF uniqueness comes from a cone with a high excursion, i.e. movement on the z-axis or in & out to most of us. Is it possible playing at higher volume that these cabs will move? In my mind a light box & speaker violently moving back & forwards shifting air conjures up all sorts of images of BF cabs roaming the stage like demented Daleks
I have gigged my One10 and it doesn't move. It doesn't even vibrate that much. My MB200 was placed gently on top of my One10 and it didn't move a millimetre. The MB200 weighs less than 1kg. This cab does NOT go walkies!* *Nor do Daleks, come to think of it.
 23.
I think I'll wait until I actually have them then see what I need
Good wheeze. Your solution may not be the same as mine depending on how you're going to stack the cabs, whether a stand is used, etc etc.
 24.
In which case I think I shall commission a pair of those nifty right angled Spekon cables.
Very good, but bear in mind I switched the alignment of the sockets by 180 degrees so the Speakon cable wouldn't stick out horizontally beyond the perimeter of the cab. If that makes sense. You may not be as OCD as I am, of course.
