About a month. It's the rear panel piece. The edges have all lifted. I've had it for a few months now but I can't be arsed to complain and at the mo it's the only cab I have so I can't spend the time sending it back.
I'd definitely mail Alex and see what he has to say about it. When I was inspecting the One10 I saw that back panel piece and thought, 'that's not how it's done...it should be in one continuous piece and the seam hidden at the base of the cab'.* You can see the piece in question in my picture of the Speakon lead, above. I found the same thing when I applied Tolex to a BFM cab I made, I didn't have a long enough piece (fnarr) to go all the way round so I cut out a patch and stuck it on afterwards. Needless to say, even with super-strong glue it was a problem - the edges lifted. But then I've covered precisely ONE cab. Obviously you don't want to be working on a cab you've only had for a month. *I was wrong as it turns out, see later posts.

What, you mean the unit is making a physical noise that's not coming from the output?
As I said I have an MB Fusion 500 and I like how it sounds (except that the overdrive is a bit limited), but this will give me extra sound-shaping options plus (if they're good) a more versatile overdrive, a tuner and a compressor, so 3 pedals off my board.
Well there's that - I tend to favour clean-to-just-becoming-warm tones and don't really go in for overdrive as such. If you get one I'd be very interested to read your thoughts about it.

Hmm... for me the great thing about GK amps, particularly the MB range and particularly the Fusion variants, is that they sound great right out of the box, they are plug and play and you don't need a pre-amp or sound-shaper in front of them. So is this for people who own less-than-exciting amps who can buy a Plex and finally find happiness in the GK fold? If so, then I'm all up for it. Though I could probably do without the sonic competition...

If the buzzing/humming becomes an issue for you, get one of these: http://www.ebay.co.u...VQAAOSw3ydViAzt
There are nuances between 'playing for money', 'only playing for money' and 'playing only for money'. To each his/her own, of course; Having a broad outlook is not a Bad Thing, either. Just sayin'.
+1. 1) The music project that was most lucrative for me wasn't particularly enjoyable, but it paid the bills. 2) I think it's better to follow your heart, and if you end up getting paid for it, then that's golden, but 3) If you're relying on music for your living, then 1) is far preferable to nothing at all.
20 songs for an audition sounds ridiculous. IMO a band is trying to assess whether you can play and have the right chops for them, and they can suss that out in a matter of 3 or 4 songs. Maybe when they landed you with the 20 tracks, it would have been wise to tell them you have a life outside of music that has to be tended to, and 3 or 4 would have been more realistic, given the time restraints in your life.
Plus one to this - and for my last audition I was expected to learn three numbers. However I noticed there was a YouTube video of a gig by the band in question, so having time available I learned twelve or thirteen of their songs. I'm pretty sure that knowing these helped me to get the gig, but I'm equally sure that if I had played them badly I still wouldn't have got the gig. I also got on well with them on a personal level which is just as important, if not more so, but that's probably for another thread.

Looks very good! 33 is not old, by the way. At least not on this board.
My tolex is peeling off mind you. Somewhat annoying.
It must be. How long did it take for this to happen? Is it still under guarantee?

Late to this party obviously, but the 1212L is the punchiest cab I've ever used. You will always be heard in the mix in any size room whether you have PA support or not. Can sound a bit odd at home or in quiet rehearsal but sounds lush and powerful at gigs - where it counts.
I'm thinking of picking up one of these and a GK MB Fusion....
Perfect choice. Huge sound and very extensive EQ with switchable mids. Wish I still had mine.
What's that black and grey thing hiding behind the speakon cable? An alarm clock? Can't really see it well...

Man I am tempted to order one of these... How does the GK sound through it?

How GK does the GK sound through it?

G-K are justly famed for their modern rock tones and the MB200 will produce them - but using a P Bass with La Bella flats gives a very nice warm tone with the amp set flat. Particularly through the One10, which seems to be capable of reproducing a lot more low-end than one would think possible.
The GK sounds great through it, very wide range of tones available. It's a 'voiced' cab, but it's a very sweet voice and doesn't mask the natural sound of your bass. I think it would sound amazing with an all-valve amp, but given its size that pretty much restricts you to the new Ampeg 20- and 50-watt all-valve amps.

Superlative customer service from Dave as usual. Ordered a custom Speakon cable and Dave had it in the post yesterday for delivery this morning, all before going off on holiday. I can't say any more than I have already said in these pages, Dave is the man for cables, end of!
-
Here we go then - custom OBBM 32cm angled-Speakon to angled-Speakon cable. A normal 1m cable with straight Speakons is too long and too unwieldy - and with this one I can have the rig closer to a wall on a tight stage if necessary. Kudos to Dave (obbm), who was just on his way out the door for a 2-week holiday when I enquired about it yesterday. He made the cable and posted it before leaving. I got it this morning. That's what you call customer service...
I have one of the first type of stands - I use it these days to make sure the guitard's combo's pointing at his head...the stage volume's far more manageable if that's the case...
That's what it's all about... having your amp blasting your shins is not good. I like to make sure I can hear myself, if nothing else. There are too many variables attached to live sound, I like to get my own little bubble of happiness sorted as a starting point.
You sure that's 45 degrees? Maybe it's just the picture...
Sorry, it's just an estimate - I can't find my protractor...

^ What he said. ^ Just use your ears, if the cab sounds like it's struggling then it probably is.
More importantly when can I come round and have a go on the scalextric? ... ah the smell of burning plastic.
And that ozone-type electricity smell! That was a Christmas present for young master discreet many years ago and most of the key components are probably in landfill somewhere, via the Hoover...

Some stand pics, for those who are stand-curious... The second stand is a Stagg 14708, which is suitable for horizontal One10 placement if you have a wider amp. https://www.amazon.c...stagg+amp+stand - not bad for £13 delivered in mainland UK. It has a ratchet/clutch system and can be adjusted in various ways for height, footprint size, stance, angle, etc.

This kind of thing leaves me absolutely cold. I knew I should have put some clothes on this morning.

Sold David my beloved Fender Rumble 500 Combo in a very smooth transaction. PorcelFarce got it to him in one piece, communications were prompt and frequent and all is now rosy. Recommended Basschatter, would deal with again no problem! Thank you!
...most intrigued by the amp stand. Never really bothered before but actually quite taken with the idea the more I think about it. You'll have to let me know the pros and cons of the Stagg vs the (I assume!) MarkBass Velcro strip™
I've had a couple of Markbass Mark Stands (the wide Velcro and board wedge thing) and while it's convenient to carry as it packs flat, it's possible to have your cab fall over backwards in use... the Stagg stand gives you a proper 45-degree tilt (in fact ONLY a 45-degree tilt), but it has a back support so no chance of your cab tipping over. It's also close to the floor so your cab can't fall off it and it's very simple, having no controls or adjusters. So you can whip it out, manipulate it and have it ready for action in a few seconds. And when you're done you can quickly fold it up and hide it away before anyone sees what's happening. It packs flat as well... I'll take some better pics later.
