I was gonna say Barefaced, but I designed that logo years ago and I understand it's not for everyone.
That was really your design? I'm firmly in the 'don't mind it' camp.
A disgraceful exhibition of cab nudity, cones, horns and porting. Appalling.
Blame Billy Apple, he made me do it with his words.
I am worried that the new badge is too upmarket for what is, after all, a workaday combo.
Holy crap! I didn't think a new Fender badge would generate so much anxiety! At least it's actually on a Fender product! In fact, it's the only genuine USA Fender part on the whole combo! Just think what would have happened if I'd stuck a Phil Jones badge on there instead! Bloody hell!
-
The new badge does look better. But I'm afraid you have invalidated the warranty!
Ha! You can be sure that if the combo goes tits-up any time soon, the old crappy badge will be back on there before you can say 'Made in China? Nothing wrong with that if the design and quality control are good!'
So..after years of being told a 410 is no good and unnecessary Barefaced announces ....a 410 !! Progress indeed...
To be fair that was partly due to poor dispersion and having the lows run out of steam at high volume, known 410 issues that BF claim to have sorted. However, as I'm not a trained speaker guy, I don't feel it would be right to devote any more time to it here. Particularly as I'm not going to be buying one...

DR Fat Beams,( Marcus Miller sig strings)
I have a set waiting to be put on my Thunderbird. Not sure they will be a good match though. Maybe they will be best suited to a more hi-fi bass. I have never tried them before.
I had my Fat Beams on a 76 P bass and was in a rock band at the time. They were great. -
More importantly, my Super Twin just fits in the Super Twin sized space I have in our lounge. A 4x10 would need more room, and the only way to achieve that would mean getting rid of a bass or two, and that's also unthinkable.
You could always do what I did once and hide a cab in plain view under a tablecloth and a lamp. Though to be honest, it is a little tricky logistics-wise when you have to get the thing out of the room and into the car for a gig...
-
I got the email as well...but I could only get one if I sold my Super Twin, and that really ain't going to happen. Life can be so cruel
I'm not feeling compelled to get one. Cab-wise I want to go smaller, not bigger. Your Super Twin is 6kg lighter, anyway.
I don't ******* need it!!!!!!!!
Look on it as an investment. It's going to go ballistic, so even if you don't get on with it you certainly won't lose money on it. Is this helping you make a decision?? Two-foot square, it's quite petite... thirteen inches deep is actually quite shallow isn't it?
-
I had to stop myself hitting the buy stuff. Just stupidly tempting but I don't need it, I don't need it, I don't need it, I don't need it.
But Karl, when are you going to get another at this price?? Never, that's when.
-
Too heavy for me! I've gone too far down the road of light cabs and consequently can't carry anything that weighs more than 16kg.
-
I can tell you that the studio is awesome, as I've recorded a couple of albums there. Pat is an awesome musician & a lovely fella & knows how to record & mix too.
That's good to know, thanks for the comments.

Jah Wobble must have been a very early adopter, I'm thinking. ^ That would explain it, then. ^
That grill cloth is a bit tatty around the edges, it could do with a trim.
YOU could do with a trim!
-
Ay Caramba! OK then, cop this:
-
I wouldn't remove the grill cloth for recording, but I could if I wanted to. The triangular piece of wood is part of the frame to which is fitted the sparkly cloth... the whole being fixed to the cab with Velcro. All I've done is remove one logo and fitted another! Thppp!
-
No I'm worried. Is the triangle fixed to the cab? Does this mean you can't remove the grill cloth?
The triangle is part of the cloth frame which is fixed to the cab with a LOT of velcro. It's not going anywhere. Please don't make me take another photograph...
-
Is it just fixed to the cloth? Will the weight not pull it and crease it up?
No, there is a triangle of wood behind the logo onto which it is firmly secured. Worry not!

Fender Rumble Combo Crap Logo Solution I'm very impressed with my Fender Rumble 500 Combo in almost every way. EXCEPT for the really very crappy, flimsy, badly-designed, cheap and nasty plastic logo Fender fitted with two screws to save themselves a shilling on each amp. It's only a matter of time before this abomination gets snapped off in normal use. OCD being what it is, I couldn't let it lie - so imported from the USA this rather nice Fender Blackface Amp logo, which is metal, weighty and very lovely, the whole on a sensible and practical 3-screw backplate. Makes all the difference and now all is calm and good. Yes, I have too much time on my hands. I thank you. Before: Terrible plastic Chinese flimsiness. After: Lovely sturdy metal USA goodness.

Another vote for Lozz's post, very good advice to which I would add: Don't say anything unless necessary. Smile at everyone and appear friendly. Don't turn up pissed and don't hit on any female band members until you've got the gig [JOKE]. Don't be late. Plus one for knowing the material, this is the single most important thing. Don't overplay. There will probably be an amp for contestants to use, but make sure before you go. Don't worry about effects. They want to know if you can play or not. Be relaxed, cool and confident, but don't be arrogant and don't be a bell-end. They will definitely not be looking for bell-ends. You are auditioning them, too. After the audition, ask any relevant questions such as how many gigs they'll be doing, rehearsal regime, etc. and anything else you want to know about the band before joining them. Showing a bit of interest goes down well.
The Protection Racket is a great gig-bag. Yes it`s as big (and almost the same weight) as a hard case, but due to the pockets so much more can be fitted into it. If doing a gig with a provided backline you can easily get all your leads and a couple of pedals in it, so only having to carry one item - great if limited room in the car or using public transport.
I had a PR case and it was fantastic, regret selling it. Can be a little unwieldy on a tight stage, though. But that Ritter gig bag you sold me Lozz is the best I've had and is a keeper. Very useful. http://www.musikexpo...ebmd-revolution

DR Fat Beams,( Marcus Miller sig strings)

When I used rounds I thought Fat Beams were about the best I'd used up to the point where I started using flats. And I'd been using rounds for about 35 years, so make of that what you will. I thought Nickel Lo-Riders were pretty good too. -
Anyone could open a new company tomorrow called Microsoft, making a range of small sofas and upholstery and the IT group in the USA wouldn't be able to stop you. When you register the trademark you have to do so in each and every country you want it to apply for. You also have to define the business you're going to trade in.
That's interesting. Incidentally, if Microsoft did build furniture, it would be badly thought-out, take up far too much room, be incompatible with your existing furniture and come bundled with a load of rubbish you didn't want.
Depend you use PA support the bass or not. I gig with my LB30 (30watt valve) and a 1x10 small combo (100watt) before. Both with PA support.
What I want to know is if a 50W all-valve amp can be successfully gigged without PA support. Going by what my 100W all-valve amp was like, I'm guessing that it can.
Has anyone enquired about heft yet?

Oh, it's got that.
I'm assuming it's European heft and not African heft..?
