1. Worth a punt, I like 'em. Makes you realise that every string set you've used so far has had a wildly tense 'D' and 'G' string and that you've been sub-consciously compensating for it all this time. Nice strings.
 2. You can see why it's unplayed - nobody wanted to get close enough to pick it up.
 3.
Looks like he'd be a big lad to meet in person!
He's a giant in more ways than one. He makes his basses look like ukuleles. Sweet player, nice feel, he has a good ear.
 4.
I hope the ground crew are not badly injured - the band must be upset...
Let's hope it's not a matter of life and death. Sorry.
 5.
It doesn't look any less comfortable to play than a Rick....
Probably sounds better though, even without strings. *Runs away*
 6.
...I used to use something called a watkins copycat...
Ah yes, also known as the WEM Copicat. Fantastic. And later the Roland Space Echo. The colours, man!
 7. That is very delicious. Though if I had a bass like that left unattended for hours I would probably have had a stroke, but all's well that ends well... lovely bass, well done.
 8.
...that`s the punk part of me coming to the surface.
Eww!
 9. If that's a lap steel, you're going to need a funny-shaped lap. *Sings* Not a lap shaped funny, but a funny-shaped laapppp!!!! I thangyew.
 10.
...the mistake a lot of people make with a pick is plucking it too hard, which can be fun too, but you usually get a better tone if you pick it softly - more roundy. And that should ease your discomfort also.
Yes, as said above it's less strain on your wrist to use a flexible pick relatively softly and turn your amp up rather than dig in with a thick pick and aggravate existing injuries or get RSI, or whatever. Less is more!
 11. I can see the appeal IF you want more than 30,000 radio stations. I do not, myself. Radio Four is enough for me and it should be enough for anyone.
 12.

Mike Dirnt Roadworn... a good thing by all accounts, especially this maple-board variant. I'm currently modding a bass that I hope will satisfy my 50s P GAS. Thread to come in the fullness of time...
 13.
Has anyone mentioned not liking yellow basses yet?
I like yellow basses - especially ones that were originally white and have turned yellow with age.
 14. I played with a pick exclusively for decades before playing fingerstyle, now I do both and am completely bisexual. Is that what I mean? If you're finding the pick difficult to hold it may be worth using a more flexible one. I've always used Gold Herco .50 nylon picks which are too thin for some, but are a lot less effort to use... you simply turn your amp up a bit. I rest my right palm over the bridge and palm mute when necessary. This stops your right wrist from aching too much as you support your wrist on the bridge and pivot the pick from there. I don't have the bass in a different position for each style, not necessary. Hope this helps matey, good luck. Edit: Pre-empted somewhat by Funk-Bloke! ^ ^ He is right, however.
 15.
Ah. You're the bass player. So you are into conspirac...
No conspiracy about it. The comments are in plain view for everyone to see in just about every Barefaced thread on this forum.
 16.
Well spotted
So what's the difference? Why make that sort of comment when it's Barefaced but not when it's any other company? I'd really like to know, because the general anti-Barefaced stuff that always gets posted whenever anyone ever mentions the 'B' word is frankly baffling and I just don't get it.
 17.
Yeah and guess who's laughing all the way to the bank...
No-one says Mark Gooday must be laughing all the way to the bank when people talk about Ashdown gear. Or Dave Boonshoft when people talk about Aguilar gear.
 18.
..a thickly iced Victoria sponge.
Mmm... Victoria sponge.
 19.

Actually that is so far out I really like it.
 20.
I saw this the other day, http://fodera.com/anthony-jackson-presentation/ Which as far as I'm concerned is very nearly through the far end of the spectrum of ugly & in danger of emerging out the other side.
Wow! If you regard it as an electric bass guitar, it looks like some kind of marine animal. But if you consider it as an orchestral instrument it makes a lot more sense. Or something.
 21.
Good call, what I really dislike are those violin basses that Macca used to play in that overrated band
Wings..? I believe he played a R*ck*nb*ck*r...
 22.
I like to keep us all rehashing the same old sh*t, I'm starting another thread on The Beatles being overrated later.
And I'll be talking about the merits of flatwound strings as compared with roundwound, whether to use a hard case or a gig bag and posting that video of the cross-dressing Korean bass player, followed by that video of the drummer at the wrong gig. Pip, pip! However we still don't know which is the best bass for metal, so have a think about that.
 23.
I think there was a thread on this about 6 months ago?
There was a thread on everything about 6 months ago. 6 months is the BassChat cycle length.

 25. Barefaced cabs are indeed among the very best bass cabs available. This fact seems to infuriate some people on this forum, but I've never been able to figure out why. Enjoy!
