  1. I've always been intrigued by these - and people's attitudes towards them - but have never taken the plunge. Is there something of the Spector about them, or is that purely superficial? Ahh... this must be what you wanted the black control knobs for!
  2. Fiesta red P here for £155 if you wanted to try a fretless without risking a lot of cash... for example... https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F223079097090
  3. That would be weird and cause massive suspicion. Best if it's a stealth purchase.
  4. YES!! Fantastic news. I await your detailed review and extensive pics with bated trousers!
  5. I get the current mrs discreet to do my nut sanding. *Sigh*
  6. My fear is that I will die and mrs discreet will sell my basses for what I told her they cost. :/

Indeed.  It's madness when Mr Sheen is the obvious choice!

Kill the missus first. Job done. Throw pledge in the bin

And avoid flights of stairs for the rest of your life.

  7. I do, I had one. A fair stab at a P Bass, I thought. Did me proud when I was 'between basses'. Don't think these Revelations are equivalent, though. Maybe one or two of the Harley Bentons would make a better match.
  8. Thanks Mick, but I use a gig bag so presumably it wouldn't be a problem (I hope). Otherwise 5 minutes with a Junior hacksaw and it's sorted...
  9. I already told her that when I bought the last one. On the other hand, if I buy a sunburst bass she won't think it's mine as she knows I don't care for sunburst basses... reverse psychology, or something.
  10. Allegro Music UK are doing the RPB65 (P Bass) for £189. SNURF! SNURGLE! MUMPH! PRINGLE! AROO! AROO! *Goes to kitchen and repeatedly spanks buttocks with spatula*
  11. Sure I wasn't a load of cőck? Seriously, these reports of quality are doing my GAS no good at all.
  12. Crikey. I doubt very much that the basses are going to be wildly different in build quality to the guitars. Also, I don't think the great Alan Entwistle would associate himself with a product that isn't up to a certain standard. I'm beginning to get quite severe GAS for one of these.
  13. Holy Hell! I mean... thanks for that. I'm beginning to think it would be rude not to at this price. Unusually I even have no problem with the decal or the Dingwall-style stepped headstock. I have Entwistle pups on my bitsa Jazz, so I know just how good they are. But I'm thinking about the Revelation P Bass with a Fender CS 62 pup and La Bella flats... oh Lordy...
  14. You've got sunbursta tortiensis. The only cure is to get your credit card out...
  15. Thanks for that. Only this very morning I was daydreaming about a Jazz with a P neck and twin split-P pickups, which is something of a coincidence to say the least... uncanny. Of course in my mind it was vintage white with a maple neck, not bloody sunburst and rosewood. Tsk!
  16. Argh! It's £200! GAS GAS GAS!! Anyone know what the quality of these is like?
  17. Good God, that dual-P pickup Jazz bodied thing with a P neck looks amazing! Are these budget basses?
  18. There was a time when you could say if they weren't stupid they wouldn't be in that job, but now people have to take what they can get. And the truly stupid get promoted way beyond their abilities. What's that, Prime Minister? No, of course not.
