1. Hi Vilem, welcome to the forum.... that's a great (if slightly tragic) story, but at least you got the bass in the end. I have GAS for an MC924 - they are great basses by all accounts.
 2.
...I didn't want to be a part of prolonging this thread, seeing as the OP seems to feel it's personal and that we are prolonging his sufferings by making fun of him personally, rather than what we're really doing, which is trying to find half-original ways of prolonging a thread without having anything important to say...
It hadn't occurred to me that the OP might be taking it personally. If so, sincerest apologies to him. I just thought it was a bit of fun. What we need to do now is just let the thread disappear from page one and... DAMN AND BLAST!!
 3.
Hey guys! just placed my order with Mark, so far an excellent communication, and cant wait for my baby to be ready!
That's exciting... what flavour is it?
 4.
I must have spent thousands on here - selling too mind - but it`s been great fun, and much better for my health than drinking it all which is what I used to do. I'm pretty much there, looking at different speakers at present, but that`s more for portability and vanity than sound wise, perfectly happy with the sound, just think I can make life a bit easier for myself.
Same here... the joke is that after five years of chopping and changing basses my go-to bass is the one I'd had for decades before I joined Basschat. But it's been an interesting journey and I've learnt more about basses, bass gear and bass playing in those five years than I did in the previous thirty-five. So it was worth spending all that money, wasn't it. Wasn't it?
 5.
These are basically ideal for P shape bodies at home or as a stage stand. Mine has done okay but they are no good at all if the shape of the bass is in anyway not symetrical.
Obviously I haven't recalled correctly! I wonder who it was then? It was somebody who sent theirs back.
 6. Zoom H1. Don't use it on automatic setting, set the record levels manually. Set to 'wav' for ultimate quality with bass cut 'off'. I had mine about two meters from the front of the drum kit pointing at the top of the kick drum. This picks up everything the drummer plays and records it in stereo with the kick dead centre. I then had the bass amp close in to the left of the drums and the guitar amp on the right a little further away. Vocal through a small PA. The H1 will pick up everything. If you wanted to find a decent room and spend all day finding the optimum position for everything you could make some very creditable recordings that would only need mastering and tidying up. The H1 is also very affordable...
 7.
It's as irrelevant as what a pop band looks like - which is not very irrelevant at all!
Depends largely on the age demographic.
 8.
I dunno, pretty sure Fender must have made several basses as bad as this in the 70s
Probably, but this one looks a bit 'special', doesn't it?
 9. Wow. It looks like a Jazz Bass after a few years in Mordor.
 10.
I might start putting money away for one of these too!
Well that's very impressive. I have a problem with saving money. It tends to get spent before I've earned it...
 11. I hope the pup sounds as good as it looks. Can't wait to see the finished article.
 12.
Worth every penny in my eyes!
But is it worth every penny in your bank account..?
 13.
This is a very tragic story of what can happen or indeed could happen to any of us.
We must remain ever-vigilant. Don't think it couldn't happen to you.
 14. Google is your friend. Only the manufacturer builds Barefaced cabs. http://barefacedbass.com/ PS: The look of a cab is irrelevant - it's what it sounds like that counts.
 15. The seller says it's been made to look like a 60s bass, but of course it's been made to look like a 70s bass. Trouble is the attempt has failed whichever time period it's supposed to be from.
 16. A Barefaced Super Compact. Which I don't actually need.
 17.
I inadvertantly bought one of these once. http://www.thomann.de/gb/km_18950.htm Don't ask, it is a long story which I can no longer remember. It does a fabulous job of lifting and supporting my 86lb cab and firing the sound at my head.
That's a proper job! A bit pricey for this miser, though.
 18. I think the issue is being over-complicated somewhat. There is nothing at all wrong with the OP's cab - I used a Super 12 for three months or so and was very impressed - the issue is about the OP being able to properly hear it onstage when standing right next to it. Which means either raising it or tilting it.
 19.
We've hit the point where I've stopped being jealous of your rig. That's a £29.99 GAS killer!
It's a triumph of function over form!
 20. I like it already! But what's that hairy vase all about..?
 21. IIRC, Number6 bought one and found it flimsy and not fit for purpose. I've had a Hercules Mini, but the bass is held at too shallow an angle and thus takes up too much stage room, which defeats the object of a small-footprint stand. I'd buy a bog-standard generic folding A-frame type stand. Not too much of a pain to carry but will hold your bass securely and is relatively compact. Can be got for less than a tenner. http://www.thomann.d...e45103a0771e121 Problem is, you can't beat physics. A small stand is likely to be less secure than a larger one.
