*SOLD* Ashdown FS-4 Latching Four-Way Footswitch A four-way latching footswitch with a heavy duty, 4-metre cable. The Ashdown FS-4 Quad footswitch is the ideal accompaniment to add fast control over the many features of your Ashdown bass amplifier. Features four independent latching switches with LED lights which control the Valve Drive, EQ, Compression and Sub Octave features of the ABM Evo III and Klystron range of heads and Combos. I bought it recently from this very boutique, but I have an ABM Evo II and the four-way only works with the Evo III and above and the Klystron range. I need to buy 2-switch pedals if I want to control the same parameters. My stupidity is your gain, however. These are forty-odd quid to buy new. I'm asking just £25 Posted. The pedal is in very good working condition and comes with 4-metres of captive cable with a jack plug fitted ready to go. Item will be well-packed and despatched via a tracked method. I will PM the buyer an ETA and tracking info. My feedback is here. I would also consider a straight swap with an Ashdown FS-2 Latching Two-Way Footswitch. I thank you!
The precision has a pretty much unique pickup arrangement i.e. a single pickup in the mid position. You happened to be in a situation where that particular setup worked better than any other option. No big mistery IMO.
Quite right, and I find myself in that situation pretty much all the time! And with regard to the fact that Fenders are, and always have been, mass-produced and are essentially all bitsas - that makes little difference, imho - it's the design (and as said, particularly the placement of the split pickup) that makes the P Bass what it is, and that design still works well today. If it ain't broke, etc etc.
This is really NOT Dennis territory. At all.
Be very careful, Den. Next thing you know you'll be having a shower every day and using male grooming products.
What I play, I can do on a Fender and that's it.
A key point. I'm no virtuoso up-the-dusty-end multi-string solo shredder-type - I like to lay down a good groove with with a great drummer and be part of a killer rhythm section. A Precision is the tool for this job, imho. I'm never going to be such a rarefied and esoteric player that a P won't be good enough for me.

I've tried lots of different basses over the last couple of years, some fantastic, some not so fantastic. I'm back to my USA Fender P Bass now, because it's very simple, it sounds great, it plays really well and it's just about the only bass that doesn't get in the way of my playing, or even my thinking about my playing - it doesn't make me wonder if there's something better out there I should be playing and it's good for ANY kind of music or genre. And for me that's the best bass there is.

A warm welcome to the proper bass club - even though you're a bit late. You can't beat that colour combo either. It looks like a mint guard to me, but that may just be the pic. Very nice!

Yes, I absolutely hate having my picture taken. No matter what I do, I always look like a three-hundred-year-old American Indian who has eaten a wardrobe made of crap tied up with about a furlong of pubic-hair rope. The camera does NOT love me.
Is it a Peavey neck? That headstock looks familiar.

Wonder if it's a Peavey Fury neck or something?
I thought it was a Peavey neck. As I know little of Peavey basses I said nowt for fear of ridicule.
Either that or your "bass face" makes you look like an axe murderer.
Better than your 'axe face' making you look like a bass murderer. Or something. Sorry, I didn't really think that one through...
I thought I had heard everything on basschat but I was mistaken. It appears that if you are overweight then you are flawed and shouldn't be on a stage. How on earth did B.B. King manage?
Well, you know how it is in modern Britain in the entertainment industry! It's all about appearance and image! As usual my post was not entirely serious. Maybe I should use more smilies...

Even though Foals look like people I'd love to kick in the nads, I thought their performance was pretty good. And props to Ricky Lee Jones (featuring Dave Swift on bass by the look of it) for still bothering to get out of bed. I like her 'balls to everyone' 'tude. I thought everything else was abysmal. Don't see what the fuss is with My Morning Jacket. Terrible band, terrible name. And a couple of 'em could do with getting down the gym. Said the fat bloke with high blood pressure. I just don't think TV is the best medium for music. Too many variables.

I am doing the lightweight thing, but also suspect it's not all it's cracked up to be. I don't think there's anything inherently 'wrong' with Class D for example, but I think the B&O ICEpower unit often used is for general audio applications and is not specifically intended for bass amp use. On another note, I attended an audition today and oh joy, there was an Ampeg SVT and 8X10 in the room - it sounded totally fantastic.

Nah - it's 'mojo'.
@discreet - thanks for the link mate, if someone isn't familiar with those cabs, it gives a great idea about what they are.
You're welcome mate. Though I have 1000W RMS @ 4ohms - I could be wrong, but it's academic really. They sound great with any amount of power thrown at 'em.

Another "Im not a fan of singlecuts but..." thread.
I've always fancied an ASAT bass - do they qualify as single cuts?
Yes, of course - I think this is pretty much the only SC I'd be seen in public with. The Les Paul less so, but it's still OK comparatively. -
Right, you, outside! Prawn Madras and a bottle of Cobra at ten paces.
I already AM outside. Frozen solid in a glacier, in fact.
