Yes you can. The only way you'll exceed the recommended speaker load is to go below 4ohms. So you can use one 8ohm cab (which is what you've got anyway), two 8ohm cabs (4ohms - addition of another 8ohm extension cab) or one 4ohm cab (with internal cab off). Just don't use an 8ohm cab with a 4ohm cab or two 4ohm cabs (2ohms).
Erm... I don't get it?
I think any working band that enjoys even the slightest modicum of success won't touch social media with a ten-foot pole (there it is again!), simply because they don't have the time or the inclination. As far as 'name' bands go, it's their fans that create the pages and do the work to promote their faves. My experience of online promotion is that it's a fantastic way to waste a huge mountain of time with little return. If you're online 24/7 promoting yourself across several 'platforms' you're basically not writing songs, recording, rehearsing, gigging and all those things that bands used to do to promote themselves before the advent of teh internetz. If ever I'm in any band that becomes successful enough to have dedicated 'fans', then I'd be more than happy for them to do all the piddling online crap that I wouldn't have time for, and wouldn't want to do even if I had. Peace out!! -
Is it normal for old strings to go out of tune?

I use flats for everything now. Not only do they last a long time, with modern flats it's possible to get a very wide range of tones. -

Fans? Bwa-ha-ha-ha-haaaahhhhh!! -
All their guitars are fitted with a G-string.

Fire! And lots of it.

My thoughts are that even if it were the best-sounding bass on the planet, I'd still fling it into a swamp.

Bargain stacker...err, wait a minute..

Er... logo is wrong as are lots of other things, obviously. And you know what, the Jazz sound CAN be surpassed. IMHO, of course. YMMV. -
One factor is how long the drill will last when it's being used on a daily basis. It's not just one job, but perhaps a lot of jobs. The same would apply to an unreliable bass that failed a lot, but I don't think this happens with many cheaper basses.
Especially if it's P-Bass or one of its derivatives - they have few parts and there is little to go wrong!
Does it make any difference to the punters?
I'm quite sure it does not - but it certainly makes a difference to me. Who is more important?? If you like to have nice things and you can afford them, then capitalism dictates that nothing stand in the way of you buying them, regardless of any possible negative effects on our environment. But that's for another thread - one which I'm not going to start.

Non-bass players who love playing bass
Tom Petty who, IMHO, needs to be more adventurous.
He certainly does, and not just on the bass. -
*SOLD* Babicz FCH-4 Bass Bridge
GLWTS Axesrus have Hipshot Vintage bridges in stock which should be more appropriate for you.
I thank you sir, I have been looking at those very bridges. Though I suspect that only the original stock bridge will prevent some kind of mental illness and/or obsessive behaviour. Now THAT'S what you call a first-world problem. God knows what would happen if I even thought about Peak Oil. -
*SOLD* Babicz FCH-4 Bass Bridge I bought this recently in an effort to address an issue I had with my stock Fender bridge. The Babicz solved the problem completely, but it turns out my OCD won't allow a non-stock, non-period part on my vintage bass - so it's up for grabs. This is a really well-designed and well-made bit of kit and it looks great, almost sculptural in fact. And it's a real doddle to fit and adjust. The idea is that the strings have full contact with the body at all times through a rotating cam system, so there's never any air space below the bridge saddles as there is with a bridge that uses saddle screws to adjust the action. Babicz also claim an increase in sustain and the eradication of unwanted vibration and I can certainly vouch for the latter, if not the former. I don't think long sustain is a particularly desirable trait in an electric bass anyway, but your mileage may vary. In short this is a very worthwhile upgrade to any Fender bass that uses the five-hole fixing system. Once you've adjusted your action and intonation you can lock up the bridge so it is in effect one piece of solid metal. Technically brilliant and very functional. Have a look at the installation and adjustment video at the bottom of the ad. So if your Bent Bit Of Tin is rattling or buzzing, or your saddles mysteriously adjust themselves, or your hand is being shredded when palm muting, or you just want a bridge that is aesthetically pleasing, then this is for you. I'm after what I paid for it which is £55 Posted paid via bank transfer only, please. Item will be very well packed and despatched via an appropriate tracked method. I will PM the buyer an ETA and other relevant information. My feedback is here. I thank you!
Legal limit ? If there is I'm a dead man The white/black/maple is a wonderful playing and sounding bass, closer inspection shows it's been used as a battleaxe in more than one skirmish
Heh. Sounds like a keeper. But if for any reason you consider moving it on...
Even better my gaffer texted this morning saying they were letting me go so I had plenty time today for playing
Perfect day then, really.

Bollocks.

Ooh! Is there a legal limit for Peavey basses..? I'm very much liking the white/black/maple jobbie.
...come to the conclusion that my Retro two 10 has enough warmth and vintage vibe that i dont actually need a warmer head now.
Probably apples and pears - and apologies for the digression - but how would you compare the Two 10 to the 1212L?

I've quit my band - finally. So what next...?
Not always true.
No, not always - but possible. Which is why I said 'it's possible'. -
You just can't beat having 8 speakers moving air.
That is very true. But some of Barefaced's cab designs come close. And they're a lot lighter than a fridge.
