1.
Me against the rest of the room. Nightmare.
Situation normal, whether I'm playing or not.
 2.
Everything I liked in the 70's was called progressive.
Well that's it. At the time I would say I listened to progressive rock, but now 'prog-rock' is something else, and in fact is almost a derogatory term...
 3.
I just finished a J Bass and fitted it out with Schaller hardware all in their vintage copper finish. Looks lovely. I hand made the control plate and side jack plate in copper sheet, then aged/patinated it dark.
You can't post that without pics!
 4.
Funny how the comments here are largely saying "keep the drift-wood look". But the voting is 2 to 1 in favour of spraying it and covering the look.
That's because those who like the driftwood look are free-spirited liberal types who can't be bothered to vote.
 5.
It's OK, prog's a broad church they will let practically anyone in.
Hee, hee. I'm sure 'progressive rock' meant something different back in the day than it does now... for example, Deep Purple were considered 'progressive' then, but not so much now... or am I talking out my arse again?
 6. Oh God, I'm familiar with an awful lot of the albums mentioned but never considered myself a prog fan...
 7.
Thanks; I didn't know that. I'll amend my 'demo' pic to illustrate that.
I'd leave it Dad. Yours is more logical and we don't want to confuse anyone, do we..? Just because I've been doing it the same way for years doesn't mean its necessarily the best way.
 8.
It doesnt give me an option to do that, once i click upload it just tells me to email it to myself but that didnt work properly.
I'm assuming you've created an account and have registered with Photobucket? @Dad - you can use the direct link too in the way I described above.
 9.
I was looking at the Retro 10, but according to the Barefaced site the impedance is either 4 or 12 Ohms. Unless that's a typo, that won't be suitable for me.

2 12ohm cabs looks like 6 ohms to an amp. That's fine for Puma amps.
Yes, in practice it's not an issue at all. As said, 2 X 12ohms = 6ohms and 3 X 12ohms = 4ohms. 1X12ohms = er... 12ohms, so you'd get about 2/3 the power you'd get through an 8ohm cab, but again not an issue as the cabs are very efficient.
 10. Sign in, click the 'Upload' button, click 'Choose photos & videos' button, select pics you want to upload, click 'Open', and the pics will upload to Photobucket. Create an album first if you want to keep groups of pics together in one place and upload into that. Done. When you want to post pics on BassChat, select the pic you want on Photobucket, choose the 'Direct' link from the list on the right, click on it to copy the link, then go to the post editor on Basschat (where you type your post in), click on the green 'image' square (above), paste in the link and click 'OK'. You should see the pic in your post.
 11.
Oooohh... Whereabouts are you?
South London, why? Do you want your pants washing too?
 12.
I like it as it is, very 'Rat Rod'
It's going to need appropriate hardware, though...
 13.
I has been stripped and spray painted.
Definitely going to need pics of that!
 14. Oops, sorry. It IS a lovely bass and at least my pants (or lack of them) are keeping it at the top of the shop! I think I'll go and do some washing now... GLWTS.
 15. Yes and owing to a laundry crisis, I'm wombling free as well.
 16. Well... You probably don't care whether your strap stays on or not, then... I'm on the wagon, so am living dangerously - no straplocks!
 17. OK, OK, I believe you! Grolsch washers work just as well, mind.
 18. By 'red straplocks', do you mean 'Grolsch bottle top washers'?
 19. Well Keef's blown it, because as a result of this thread I have today ordered three Beatles albums. Beatles albums ordered today = 3 Stones albums ordered today = 0 Mind you, that's probably because I already have all the Stones' albums. And I doubt my record-buying habits are going to bother Keef, much... This just in: I've decided to call Keef 'Queef' from now on. So there you have it.
 20. A gratifying number of posts expressing years of trouble-free use. Reliability is up near the top of the requirement list, imho. I suppose the amps that don't burst into flames just go on and on!
 21. Hey Alberto, welcome to the forum.
 22.
I'm not a particularly strong bloke but i dont mind carrying heavy things if i have to......i do try and get out of it if i can though lol.
Well there is that... I'm not as young as I was and have had one hernia operation already... I really don't want another! But 14kg or thereabouts isn't gut-busting if you're sensible about it. Which in my case means a sack truck!
 23.
...the new Tech21 500watt head.
I did have quite a lot of GAS for that, and still do to a certain extent, mainly because it wouldn't need a preamp or pedal in front of it. But neither does the ABM, so I've gone off the boil somewhat. I suppose it's down to whether hauling the ABM gets tedious. But it really isn't that heavy... I yearn for the time when men were men, there were no Class 'D' amps and no power steering! Everyone had huge biceps, even the dweebs, dorks and nerds!! *Does heavy weights while scowling and smoking a fag*
