1.
IAnyone familiar with the Bowie catalogue will know that this song has been performed in various guises over the years. Our version is a heavy nod towards the BBC gig from 2000. Given that it was our very first gig, I'm fairly chuffed with it. More songs in due course. https://soundcloud.c...rren-byatt/stay
That is a very laudable effort! 'Stay' isn't a walk in the park by any means and you've nailed the sound and feel of it completely. Some very good playing and performances, too. Brave choice for a cover, I'd say - it's not one of Bowie's better-known songs. Relatively speaking, of course...
2. London Drummer wanted for new Americana/Rock project with an edge. Must be pro standard. PM for links and details.
3. Just a bit of noodling really. That or the first two or three minutes of Bach's Cello Suite No. 1 in G.
4. I've heard bands where even one bass was too many.
5. I tend to have a current favourite and the ones I'm not playing live in their cases in a cupboard... so I tend to forget about them. Which is good, because when I do eventually play them it's like a new bass day!
6. I am Simon and she is Garfunkel. She's a curly-haird weirdo who keeps moaning and complaining about stuff that happened 40 years ago. I'm a politically naive, talented git with a Napoelon complex. I'll never record with her again.
7.
The home office / place she would rather hang out will be wallpapered in basses :-P
Won't they get dusty?
8.
I've gone the other way...
You mean you're... 'on the other bus'?? PM sent.
9.
I've been loitering around the site late at night like some anonymous, dirty mac wearing, bass addict.
Welcome, you'll fit right in.
10. No, this is quite normal for Basschat and is a natural consquence of GAS. Don't bother your GP with it, over-the-counter drugs will be more than sufficient.
11. Sold a Spector Tonepump to David. All good, super-fast payment and great comms. Recommended!
12.
Agreed, Strings Direct are very quick and have plenty to choose from. I just bought a case from them (bad timing, Mr. Discreet!) and that was delivered within a couple of days as well.
Sorry about that Dave... In future I'll drop you a PM before I sell anything...
13. I always use Strings Direct. Not sure if they're the cheapest, but their service is excellent, super fast delivery. http://www.stringsdirect.co.uk/strings-c1/bass-guitar-strings-sets-c34
14. It's nice to see neat, accurate pickup routing, isn't it. And I'm not seeing any. £550!?? Now that is WISHFUL THINKING.
15. Pity you'd have to go to Hull and back to get it.
16. I think you should try it. Anything to avoid a guitarist.
17.
... and
But there is likely something very special incoming from Limelight...
18. Wow! What a write-up! Thanks, Dad! Glad I bought that Harley Benton Strat now... and regretting selling my Marathon Bass already!
19.
Where are you based? I could be interested. Thanks
South London.
20.
Damn, bought a new one last week for double your asking price!
Isn't that always the way??
21. *SOLD* Hiscox Liteflite Standard STD-EBS Bass Case Suitable for Jazz and Precision-type basses and probably other types too (I've used a Hiscox with a Spector for example, no problems), but see pics and spec. Case has largely been used for holding whatever bass I'm not using in the cupboard under the stairs, so it's not had a hard life. However, it's not in 100% 'as-new' condition - it has a couple of small scuffs on top and some very small paint spots from being banged into door frames, but it would scrub-up to a pristine condition - if that's your thing. There is no actual damage and everything works as it should. Many years of life left in it, I'd say. I'm just not using it for its intended purpose, really. I have another which I use for gigs and rehearsals and I have gig bags for storing basses in at home. A very rugged dual-skin case with plush velour interior, protective pads, storage compartment, strong handle, latches and hinges. Could easily be used for touring. Spec and more info from the Hiscox website, here: http://www.hiscoxcas...m/our-cases.htm http://www.hiscoxcas...ses.htm#std-ebs http://www.hiscoxcas...-cases.htm#spec http://www.hiscoxcas...onstruction.htm Last time I looked these were getting on for a hundred quid new, so I'm asking £50 plus £15 postage. Payment is via bank transfer ONLY please, no trades. Case will be sent well-packed in a bass box, so you get a free bass box, too! As usual I will send an ETA to the buyer plus tracking information. Case will be sent via an appropriate tracked and insured method. My feedback is here. I thank you!
