2.
Having just been sent this on FB, can i join the NPG please? http://www.wat.tv/vi...z63_2hztv_.html
Yes, you can - if I can be your bass tech.
 3.
So Discreet, exactly how are you, erm, stacked?
You'd have to ask the current mrs discreet. Though on second thoughts... don't.
 4.
Just get a water pistol and squirt him with water every time he indulges in unacceptable behaviour.
Or smack him smartly across the nose with a rolled-up newspaper and say firmly, 'NO!' ...'NO!'
 5.
Too tall?
Not wide enough, methinks.
 6.
Should I destring the bass for flying? Truss rod need any adjustment?
Not necessary.
 7. Chimp Spanner! For a short time I was in a band called Ape Escape.
 8.
I've read really good things about these but would look dead weird with my amp flight/rack case on top at smaller venues!
Just put the cab on top of your flight/rack case. Job done!

 10.
...it looks very inviting!
Well... you know what they say... 'no frets - no pants'. OK, it's not a known saying - I've just made it up in the hope it'll become popular.
 11. You can stream stuff direct from MediaFire, you don't have to download it if you don't want to.
 12.
The chance of this happening is 1/1000. There are 33,000 members of Basschat. It had to happen to someone and there are probably a couple of others this has happened to also.
Then by rights, it should have happened to 33 members or thereabouts. Given that a large percentage of the 33,000 hardly ever post and the regular contributors here probably number less than 200, you'd think the chances are that we'd probably have heard of at least one incidence of this happening. Oh, wait...
 13.
Just upload your file(s) and the recipient gets an e-mail containing the download link.
This. I use MediaFire. There are many alternatives.
 14. Nice... looks very 'right', somehow...
 15. Hi, welcome back. A bizarre dog-walking accident? Very Spinal Tap...
 16.
I have recently left a band where all the other members made absolutely no effort ...
Tell me about it! To the OP - I see where you're coming from, but don't worry about it, let him do what he likes. At this stage hardly anyone will see it anyway - and if you get successful, the marketing will be taken out of your hands for sure.
 17. You really need a P to get the sound of a P. However, glad you're liking your J. I like Status Half Wounds too, very underrated imho. I had a Squier VM Jazz V a while back and I fitted an Audere JZ3 tone circuit to it, which basically turned it into a Super Jazz. I'm sure the East J-Retro would be great too, thought I've not used one... the Auderes do come up second hand, but only rarely. 18.
...late onset mojo
I've got that - just bought some hair dye.
 19. For a little more outlay you may want to consider the Behringer X32 Producer. http://www.thomann.de/gb/behringer_x_32_producer.htm I have heard good things, but bear in mind I have no direct experience of it.
 20.
I’m thinking of trying La Bella Deep Talkin’ Flats next so any advice on these from anyone reading would be much appreciated!

I love the feel of the LaBellas...
I love the feel of La Bellas too, but also the 'tension' or 'compliance' or whatever you want to call it, is perfect (for me). I've been using La Bellas for years and in my opinion are the best flats out there. They are fitted to two of my three basses. Yes, they are expensive but for all practical purposes will last for years. To a lesser extent I also like the sound and feel of Fender 9050ML, which are much more affordable if that's an issue. TI Flats also see a lot of love on this forum. By the way, it was playing La Bellas on one of Happy Jack's basses a few years ago that turned me onto them. I immediately knew I'd have to buy a set. Thanks for that, Jack...
 21.
why would I prefer to be in someone else's band which isn't the one I'm as passionate about?
Well that's it, isn't it? I suppose from the purely financial point of view you could say you'd like to be in band 'X' because they're your favourite and they've made a shedful of cash (which would be nice, of course) and they're touring and playing large, well-attended venues and they have a legion of fans and they're living the dream, etc etc - but forgetting all that for a moment, I can't think of one single band I'd genuinely want to be in. It's an exercise in fantasy, really. Nothing wrong with that, but most bands who are in any way successful usually have a harrowing back story involving, at the very least, some kind of conflict or sacrifice or tragedy, or all three. It's not enough to be talented, one has to be driven too - most people are not and actively avoid difficult situations. Doing what you want (or what you think you want) is hard.
 22.
Also, I suspect that their tolerance for husbands is limited
They do seem pretty angry. I think they might be clam-jousters.
 23.
I find myself drawn to P-basses...
I really tried hard to leave the P Bass club, but it proved too difficult... and totally unnecessary, as it turned out.
Might be something to do with trying to learn as many Maiden tracks as I can...
Possibly! Or any track, really - I've found that when you have a decent P-Bass in your hands, you can forget all about the bass entirely and concentrate on what it is that you're supposed to be doing without the distractions of GAS nor gear...
 24.
I think that's the first time I've heard a shout for Simon Kirke... Amazing drummer and should be a household name IMHO.
He is a household name. At least in our household he is.
