1. I found the Farnell link, too... only six hours too late! It's the thought that counts though, right..?
 2.
That's something im working on and do have on my mind.
That's good, because in my experience nothing improves your playing quicker than being in a band, especially if everyone else is better than you - you tend to play up to their level pretty damn quick, in a way you just don't do by noodling at home.
 3.
...having seen Spanish wiring burst into flames, I'm certainly OK with that.
Is that what the renowned 'Latin Fire' is all about..?
 4.
Why don't you just join a band and get on with it?
5.
I've been playing for 40 years and still don't know if I'm doing it right.
Same here. But I'm not in the least bit bothered about box-ticking or target-achieving - nor do I have 'goals' or ever think about where I'm going to be in five years' time or any of that piddling crap. I'm not in competition with anyone - in my opinion music is art and therefore entirely subjective. You only have to read a couple of random threads on this forum to understand that one man's Mark King is another man's, er... Adam Clayton, or something. I enjoy bass playing far too much to be worried about how 'well' I'm doing, or if someone else is 'better' than me at it. Feck 'em!
 6.
The leads we generally get with amps are rated to handle a 6A load.
I thought it was a 10A load? And the plug fuse is to protect the lead - the internal amp fuses are to protect the amp. Or something.
 7.
You might get mistaken for that singer Sia who was on the tele programme with that Micheal McEntire the other day
I doubt it - she's Australian. And a woman. Nice lampshade, though.
Normal Wednesday for you then??
Actually no - I'm usually hiding in a litter bin in Dulwich Park. And now, back on topic - Barefaced cabs are great! Buy one!
 8.
Make sure the fuses are ASTA marked too...
The American Society of Travel Agents??
 9.
...you might need a 13A one with a 10A fuse depending on your amp power and whether it has a 'soft start'. There's a grey area between 300w and 500w amps as to whether the manufacturer fits a soft start. Essentially you could have a 500w amp that randomly blows 5A fuses when you turn it on.
I had a 500W Warwick ProFet which randomly blew 5A fuses when I turned it on. Changing to a 10A fuse sorted the problem. My GB Fusion lead came fitted with a 10A fuse. Presumably Bob knows what he's doing.
 10.
Is a punk band allowed to tell the bass player he/she's too loud?
I think under UK law it's actually illegal.
 11. You can't have too many Barefaced threads! I have a one-cab solution too, but it's not a Barefaced... so I'm going to stand over here in the corner with a lampshade on my head.
 12.
Yer actual kettle lead is for hot use, and has a notch so you can't put an amp lead into a kettle and melt the thing.
That's right, a 'kettle' lead is actually a C15. *Bores self to death*
 13. If received wisdom from 5-string players is correct and there's nothing you can do on a four-string that you can't do on a five-string... ...my question would be, 'Why??'
 14. In short, a UK Mains to IEC (C13) Power Lead will do you fine. Edit: But it probably won't fit your kettle.
 15. So all I need is a pleasureboard and a laxative throne-sub and my life will be complete.
 16. Lozz - use both, but only have one of them plugged in.
 17.
The platform contains transducers that vibrate the platform and gives you the feeling of (massive) bass with virtually no noise. Ideal for players who use "in-ears" or those who have to play at low volumes and miss that "feeling of bass" also great for studio work and home rehearsing. This is the small pleasureboard, there is a medium and large ;-)
WTF??! O brave new world that hath such things in it! I'm so shocked I can't even come up with an obligatory filth-comment.
 18.
Great picys! The Pleasureboard seem to make people happy :-)
Yes, but what does it actually DO..? Is it sex-furniture??
 19. This is a truly fantastic bass which I would be buying like a shot were I not already embroiled with two other basses! It's an absolute pleasure to play and sounds incredible. And it's like new, too.
 20.
Hahaha.....i think ultimately it'll stay as it is, what with me be quite a lazy bassist an all
Probably for the best. Pearl is an abomination which must be resisted. And for the record, you CAN have tort with maple. Sometimes. A 3-ply b/w/b guard might be a good future purchase, though. Two basses for the price of one...
 21.
The Lakin was pleasing for me too, but not a lot more than my MIM Fender already is. Disappointed with the Thumb, string spacing too tight for someone used to a Lakland.
Hmm... so basically it's a P Bass? I don't like tight string spacing either. So I can stop having GAS for a Thumb, which is handy. Ha, ha! See what I did there?
 22.
I had my money on the keyboard player, in the library, with the music stand.
I thought it was Louise Minchin in the conservatory with a banana.
 23.
Nice colour combo but it needs a black pickgaurd
I can't help but agree. But all-white is good too. Even tort would be acceptable in this situation (gasp).
 24. Wow! Welcome back to the 'proper-number-of-strings' camp. Nice looking bass, I bet it's a real joy. Congratulations.
 25. Congratulations! Excellent taste - you can't beat a white/maple P Bass. Glad you like it - you'll find it really comes into its own in concert.
