1. I know Slade did it to great effect back in the day, but I've not tried it myself... would the gtr need to do the same thing too?
  2. This would be perfect for bass given the specs - in my opinion. Bass/preamp in gigbag in one hand, active cab in the other. Sounds like the perfect solution for the bass player who wants a single-cab, lightweight, portable solution without compromising on beans... If it does what it says on the tin (and everything else I've ever used produced by Alex has done, so far) and it really is 15kg, it's a no-brainer. In my humble opinion, of course. Your mileage may vary, good luck with the sale, in before the lock, Rome wasn't built in a day, other products are available, quality always sells, if I remember correctly, as soon as possible and never wipe yer arse with a broken bottle. Hoi, hup la! Thhp.
  3.
I like Mr Clayton, nothing fancy, certainly no virtuoso but does a job for the band... I'd have taken Naomi Campbell out on the town if she'd of asked me too!
I have no beef with Mr Clayton, either - 'virtuoso' bass players leave me cold. It's how they play with a good drummer that counts. Less is more. And I would have stepped out with La Campbell too, but I'd probably have worn a crash helmet as a precaution. Or at least a cycle helmet.
  4.

I like this!! In a strange and pervy way, though... my favourite colour combo and the first Warwick I've ever seen with a pickguard...
  5.
It's £1467 from GAK. Why do I want it? Am I mad? I don't even like U2. What do you people think?
This person thinks: Yes, you are mad. Save yourself £1200 and get a Sire MM V7 instead. It won't make you sound like Marcus Miller in just the same way as this bass won't make you sound like Adam Clayton, but it's much better value for money.
  6. Sold a Hipshot Xtender to John in what proved to be a smooth transaction. Recommended BassChatter. Thanks, John.
  7. Hi, the current mrs discreet was born in NJ, so there you go - a completely meaningless coincidence.
  8.
...if it's a big budget gig you need to put on a good show so you might be rehearsing extra thoroughly...
What if it's NOT a big budget gig? Would you put on a mediocre show and do half-assed rehearsals..?
  9.
If anyone is contemplating downsizing, i'd say that if you get the right cab you won't look back.
Absolutely. I've got a Schroeder 21012L (not a 2X12, but hey) which is about 24" square and fills any room with killer bass. Amazing. Edit: And it's not a GB cab either, so apologies for the digression!
  10.
They do indeed. I had one of these for a while, it was clear why Entwistle used the PP arrangement for so long! I'm always surprised we don't see it on more basses.
I have a Hayman bass with the same arrangment, it sounds amazing. I think the Fender Jazz Blacktop is PP too, but I've not heard one yet.
  11. Pedal junkie? You'll be in good company here. If you can call an insane FX addiction 'good'. I'm not afflicted myself, but many are...
  12. Absolutely love everything about it apart from the shape and finish. Mind you, I bet those twin P-style pickups make it roar like a beast. On steroids. Congrats on the redundo-payout, too.
  13.
£50 a week...
Riches beyond one's wildest dreams! ...If you're a bass player, that is.
Give me a chance - I am trying to make it work through dropbox :/ Try this link: https://www.dropbox....CP090gqpsa?dl=0
Sorry, I didn't mean IMMEDIATELY!! Yes, that link is working.

It's all very well saying you'll upload pics, but until then IT HASN'T HAPPENED!!
  16.
...not one of the old gits in that half hour performance had to run out to the toilet.
Three cheers for Always Discreet Incontinence Pants! A boon when playing Wagner's Ring.
  17.
Hats are no go for me now. At my age it looks like covering baldness. And I ain't!!
Same here. Briefly considered a Knopfler-style headband to conceal sweaty, shiny brow - but that's worse than a hat! Also whenever I see a bass player wearing a hat, I tend to think, 'he's only wearing that to making himself look "interesting" and divert attention away from the fact that he's essentially doing nothing but standing at the back playing roots and fifths...' Which of course is quite untrue I'm sure, and very uncharitable of me.
  18.
I have the MXR M80 which I rather like.
Had one briefly, liked it. Preferred the clean channel though to be honest, added a nice thickness to the tone.
Any love for the Dave Hall Amps stuff? Real tubes too as well as sweepable mids.
Yep, had a DHA and liked that too... far too many tonal options for my liking though - at the time.
  19.
Sausage Sandwich Game then Wobble
The perfect Saturday morning, really...
  20.
String isn't that easy to obtain nowadays so perhaps blue nylon rope is psychedelic enough?
Possibly... if you smoke it.
