1.
For myself, I use flatwounds, so they are slinky smooth anyway.
+1 This works well! I'm currently using La Bellas, and they are as smooth and shiny as a slow-worm. Remember them?
 2. Save money and kill two birds with one stone by eating a KFC, then without wiping your hands, play the bass. Feels about the same and is just as attractive, IME. Horrible stuff.
 3.
Goddamit it's about the amp man!
Yes... the very amp which easily drives Conan's cab.
 4.
The Big One was the most inefficient of them all.
Possibly, but I found it very easy to drive with a 350/500w amp.
 5.
Have you or can you try it with another cab... Some cabs are notoriously 'inefficient' and need a lot of driving...
There's no reason you'd have this problem with a Big One...
 6.
If you dont need a new bass then these fantastic, cheap, gorgeous basses shouldn't even be on the radar...
Now that's just provocative!
 7.
I like a bit of Hot HotD action
Thanks, so do I! It's a lot more fun (in my humble opinion).
 8. In answer to a number of enquiries, I won't be appearing with Cowboy Hat and that Fuzzbox Voodoo at this, or any future gigs. However, I will be putting all my energy behind Hour of the Dog instead, a band I think more deserving of my time and effort! HotD gigs coming up from next month - I will be posting here again in due course. I thank you!
 9.
I was almost hoping to hear negative feedback about them ...but they seem too good at this price to miss!
Thinking I might wait until the fuss dies down, then make a decision... but of course the price may go up in that time...
 10.
In any case, it will all look the same in a hundred years time and no one will care.
I don't care now.
 11.
That looks fantastic I love white basses
Errmm... me too.
 12.
My favourite sex bomb bass playa !!!
Mind you, I've just noticed that he/she has a music stand!! But it looks like it may just be used for keeping pants on, so that's all right then.
 13.
My favourite sex bomb bass playa !!!
Mine too - he or she is lush. And he or she is a monster on the bass, too!
I don't think most clubs I play would allow me to perform wearing a strap on.
14.
I really wish i'd put much more effort into learning when i first started playing. I really have only amounted to a very rudimentary bass player and certainly not a musician. I suppose you're never too old to learn and i'm more than will to put in some time and effort so perhaps i will still improve.
How far you progress in your career as a bass player doesn't necessarily have anything to do with how good a player you are. Not sure if this is likely to cheer you up a bit or depress your further, but there it is.
 15. I wish I had a cake-providing other half. Mine provides either earache OR awkward silences. No middle ground. Or cake.
 16. I've 'dealt with' slap and pop by ignoring it completely. I don't feel the need to add it to my skill set, nor do I particularly like any music that includes it. Except for anything featuring Larry Graham, obviously. YMMV.
 17.

Very nice indeed. The triangular thumb-wear pattern above the E string to the right of the pickguard (as seen from playing POV) and the 'broken' pickguard tip seems to be Limelight trademarks.
 18.
Nice. The full fat model with lovely creamy tone :-)
Udder basses are available...
 19.
Is that a pick-up line?
No, my pick up line is, 'HELLO, I'M ON THE SEX-OFFENDERS' REGISTER!!' - shouted loudly while gurning insanely and making the 'boob-honking' gesture. For some reason I've not had much success with it of late - must be getting old, I suppose.
 20.
Am I the only one who finds it easier to play standing up?
No. I find it easier to do standing up with a strap-on. OK, while I'm here... fingering A minor, G-string, bottom, bass players go deeper, slapping, both hands, wood, etc. etc.
 21.
These basses have not been involved making a single piece of music that I have liked or listened to since I discovered what a bass guitar was.
Having been a big Chris Squire fan back in the day and Paul McCartney before that day, I always lusted after a 4001 but I've been unlucky in that the examples I've played have all been total dogs. I seriously doubt that they're all total dogs, so I look forward to the day when I play a Ric that is what it is supposed to be. When that day comes have no doubt I'll let everyone know about it!
 22.
Take your pick.
They're both true. Simple application of Doublethink.
