Nice Like the sunburst one and a good starter bass I'd say
Much better than a starter going by some of the responses here... could be a main squeeze by the look. However I'd have to reserve judgement until I get one in my hands... -
Back when I used to get Tape Op (no idea why that stopped!) they reviewed a VST tape sim next to a struder tape machine, and reckoned it was spot on. I wish I could remember the name of the plug-in now!
I use Vintage Warmer 2 from PSP. It has various tape saturation and classic compressor settings. Use it for mastering all the time.

I'm sure you can buy a cheaper wardrobe than that.

Eurovision entry - under achieving as an art form
The only way we're going to win the Eurovision again is by reasserting ourselves and we can't do that if we haven't got aircraft carriers and an army that will make Ivan think twice. Only when our Armed Forces are back at the centre of Our National Life will the Grand Prix De Chanson come home, never mind the Golden Rose of Montreux.
Absolutely. Being successful is all about confidence, and nothing is more confidence-inspiring than being able to lob big ones into Johnny Foreigner's back garden at the slightest provocation. Let's see who awards 'nil points' then! -
It still sounds like I am being forced to like it to me, if I do I'm a pervert if I don't I'm still a pervert but a jealous one!
It is a well-known fact on this forum that you are a jealous pervert - I have proof...
Oh well - seems I should go back to my bedroom then...
Me too. For a crafty Sherman on the strength of it.
I blame the smoking ban. Everything's gone to the dogs since songwriters were forbidden to smoke in studios. You simply can't write a song unless you've got an Embassy stuck in your face and the keys are buried under a couple of inches of ash.
So true. And it seems like a lifetime ago when you could smoke in rehearsal rooms without anyone batting an eyelid. Only on a genuine vintage bass (or a well-considered relic) will you see the tell-tale headstock cigarette burn, a result of sticking one's lit fag behind the 'E' string... happy days *cough*. Where are the snows of yesteryear? *Cough* -
I'd bin it. Doesn't look like it does anything at all.
That's the spirit!
And I in turn can't understand why you wouldn't want to...
bedroom bubinga botherers

...It's simple, throwaway, OTT high campness of the kind ultimately aspired to by drag queens up and down the country every weekend. To ignore the gay factor is to be disingenuous, because that's increasingly the core target market.
I think it's an absolute disgrace. The world 'Gay' used to mean 'homosexual' but since it's been appropriated by young people, 'Gay' now means something that is sub-standard, egregious or just downright awful. So in those terms, Eurovision is now 'Gay' in both senses of the word. Everyone involved must be lashed until they drop. Yours, etc. Maj. Gen. Sir Herbert Gusset DSO BAR Retd.
The Eurovision is a joke both in terms of the songs that are presented as representing current music (they do not) and the political/bias nature of the voting which is completely unrelated to the strength/weaknesses of the songs.
Thank you! Though it is of course first-world stuff and not worthy of any comment at all, but hey-ho, I'm bored. Again. -

You'd think being thought of as a bunch of knobs by so many of our neighbours should concern to us.
WTF?
We don't win because we don't try to. Things like the Norton/Wogan piss take comments are known to the other countries (last year the main coverage made a point of embarrassing Norton live on air). If we stopped treating the entire thing like a joke and being really snide about the other entrants we'd be able to win it.
Are you American? That sounds like a typically American attitude... act like you're into something when you're not for competitive reasons. I'm not going to pretend the entire thing is not a joke when it so obviously is! People in other European countries simply have no sense of humour and are clearly incapable of understanding ours... in any case, it's just not that important! -
Now we know why people don't visit OT with threads like these... ...but, there is nothing else going on anywhere else either, so it's this or nothing...
I'm not prepared to discus it.

*SOLD* Hipshot BT-1 Bass Xtender [Blurb] Get even more out of your G&L or MusicMan bass with the BT1! This unit will fit an 11/16" headstock hole. Bushing and mounting hardware included' [Blurb/] http://store.hipshot...uct_detail&p=54 http://www.sadowsky....hot_d-tuner.pdf As it says on the tin, this is supposedly for G&L and MusicMan basses but I fitted it to my Squier Jazz Deluxe Active by using just two diagonally-opposed screws (to avoid making any holes in the headstock) - worked perfectly well. I'm not sure if this is Chrome or Nickel, to be honest... Hipshot website says Nickel, Bass Direct say Chrome. In any case it is what it is and matched the tuners on my Squier Jazz perfectly, so I wouldn't worry too much about it. I can confirm that it's NOT black or gold. Allparts UK want more than £100 for one of these, which seems a little excessive to me! Cheapest I can find new is £74 posted from Bass Direct so I'm looking for £45 Posted - payment via bank transfer please. Item will be well-packed and despatched via an appropriate tracked and signed-for method in its original blister pack. I will PM an ETA and tracking information. Selling as I bought it specifically to play one song... which I'm not playing any more. Plus, I'm about to sell the bass it was fitted to. Consequently it has seen very little use and is essentially as-new. I thank you!
Why is it sexist to find her attractive anyway? I enjoyed her playing and her jiggling about.
Quite, that's what the internet is for. If the PC Brigade had their way, there'd be no squishy or snaky at all! And then what would the harvest be?
-
Ahh... I think I've got it, now... the metal bit goes on top of the backplate and protrudes under the tuner thread to stop it touching the headstock, and the plastic one goes on top of that but under the cog to prevent wear between it and the metal bit... I think... seems to work, anyway.
-
OK, here's a pic... it's the two bits (arrowed) that I need to know about. The metal bit and the plastic bit that are the same size and shape. Where do they go, and why? I thank you!
