  1. Been back over and over again to look at this. Not doing myself any favours!! Overwhelming 1955 P GAS!!
  2. I spent months rehearsing with a band, having joined on the condition we'd be doing regular gigs Basically I was led down the garden path. They wanted a good bass player, but had no intention whatever of doing gigs. To say I wasn't best pleased is something of an understatement...
  3. Crikey, I thought several months of rehearsing without gigging was pushing it a bit and taking the p|ss - er... apart from now, was there no point during the twenty years you suspected your gigging career might not be as productive as it could be??
  4. Eh? No! I thought it was a picture of Laura Kuenssberg's buttocks?
  5. Beginning to think I should have chosen a lovely picture of a lagoon, or a mountain, or something... I have one or two ideas... it's simply a case of getting them recorded. What could possibly go wrong??
  6. Yes well, if you get good let us know.
  7. They say if you get a tattoo you should consider what it's going to look like when you're old... but if I got one, I'd know instantly... :)

Does a large Tena Lady cover a whole coffee table though and if so, how much would she charge?

@SpondonBassed My Tena Lady covers a whole coffee table, but she's quite a big girl and it's a very small coffee table. Glass-topped too, but we probably don't want to get into that on a family-friendly forum... as for charging, I have to put the bins out on Monday nights.

  8. Yes, sorry. Obviously there should be some sort of profanity filter. Think of the children!
  9. I do my paint spraying in the conservatory. It's currently a lovely shade of shoreline gold...
  10. Yes. Bollocks and shitty buggery, all possible. What profanity filter??
  11. You're welcome mate, but not entirely sure if I helped or hindered...
  12. It was July, 1971. I was 11 and this blew my tiny mind. Nothing was the same ever after...
  13. True. However I find Fender flats take more playing-in than most before they get to where I like 'em. YMMV.
  14. People tend to fit Fenders, instantly don't like them, then remove. But the initial tone you get is in no way representative of what they sound like when played-in, when they get much closer to La Bellas. Well worth persevering with when you consider a 4 string set is around £24.
  15. Well excuuuuuse me! At no point in the thread (until just then) is there any indication that you were talking about a five-string set. Thhhppp!
  16. Lollipop tuners are great, but not on a fiver. It's a four-string thing.
  17. I found Chromes to be alarmingly high tension, but this was way back before I was happy about adjusting the truss rod. I may give them another go, but to be honest I find La Bellas perfect for my needs. There's something about a really well worn-in set of La Bellas... ooh, yeah.
  18. I found that too, but Fender flats are cheaper!
  19. Not much to be done about it then...
  20. Hmm, what does that tell you?
  21. I thought it was an 'arrythmia' of drummers...
  22. Great, like it. Just the level of weirdness I was hoping for when I chose the pic.
  23. Already?? I haven't even got round to seeing if the LSO is available...
  24. As 70s Fenders become more expensive, good Japanese instruments of that era are where it's at.
