  1. Yep, I bought 3 as they were cheap, thinking they'd probably fail, but they're all still working.
  2. Looks like you've got it sorted, but just for the record you can convert most audio files to .wav online without buying software. https://audio.online-convert.com/convert-to-wav There are lots of other sites that do similar - YouTube to .mp3, for example.
  3. That's the problem with headstock tuners - they work using vibration and easily get confused. I find them perfect for home use, but not for gigs. Whenever you need to tune up at a gig there's always some kind of racket going on, so I use a pedal tuner.
  4. I notice everyone seems to be boosting their EQs quite radically! I prefer to cut, me. I have just a small boost (+ 1-2 dB) over 0dB at 100Hz but otherwise everything is cut. It's not like you need to boost the EQ to get volume, is it?
  5. Really? Then you'd think there'd be fewer crappy bass players about. Personally I find guitar easier but thats just me, I suppose.
  6. Time being the real problem. I make sure young master discreet puts plenty of time in on the piano. He's not that keen, but he's up to Grade Four now. I'm sure he'll thank me for it... one day...
  7. Yes, and increase your confidence. If you're not feeling confident about your technique, that is.
  8. This, too. They also get hung up about 'tone', amps, basses, strings and what other people think. Before I joined BassChat I was perfectly happy for nearly 35 years with one bass and one amp. I didn't even think about 'technique' and certainly not 'lessons'. I did what I did and enjoyed it immensely. Now I've been through a period of extreme GAS, extreme expenditure and extreme wasting of time, as my post count will verify. So I'm going back to basics and concentrating on the music. New band, new outlook. 'So what are you doing on here talking about it, you idiot?' I hear you ask. Good point. Gotta go, BYEE!!
  9. This. It's also about confidence, sense of rhythm, timing and that indefinable element we call 'groove'. Either you can play the bass, or you can't. How you actually play it is entirely up to you. If you're not confident, then get some lessons. That is all.
  10. That's just tempting fate, or something...
  11. I claim to do this. But of course, no repairs are ever carried out...
  12. Nice. I suppose you could avoid Hangover OCD by using a BF Four10...
  13. A Trace cab would be fine for me. If you carry it.
  14. I don't know if this is any good? Does the FW need to be amp specific? https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F122881583998
  15. For God's sake put the amp on the deck and put the cab on top, horizontally, before my brain explodes! The logo doesn't matter! Or have the amp on the floor in front of you, like a giant stomp pedal!
  16. Rhythm is very important regardless of what instrument you play, but I'd agree there is definitely a huge and very important percussive element to bass guitar, a fact some people seem to miss. I always think of electric bass guitar as the bridge between the drummer and the musicians.
