  1. 400 mile round trip for one gig? That's true commitment.
  2. What the f*cking hell is this crap? I'm a Boomer and strongly resent the implication that I'm an angry, bitter old windbag. Actually, I may well be angry and bitter and indeed a windbag, but only because I'm sick of endless injustice and blame being meted out to the poorest and most vulnerable people in society (by all age groups) when it should be aimed at those greedy, ruthless bastards who would aspire to wealth and power at any cost. Yes, I'm of 'that' generation. What of it? Are you really going to start blaming older people en masse for society's ills? We're not all swivel-eyed, prejudiced Mail-reading conservative Leave-voting nutcases. Shame on you for your sweeping (and totally inaccurate) ageist generalisations. I don't accept them and it's quite wrong to have made them. You might expect such comments on FB or YT, but not on BC. Very poor.
  3. Good Lord - you should have bought a stolen one, instead. From a fence.
  4. Yes, or you'll bump into something. Ha! Ha!
  5. I'm generslly shattered after a gig and am asleep as soon as head hits pillow. I don't retire to my cell until around 2-3 am anyway, so gigging doesn't disrupt my routine much.
  6. The victims in the article look quite young to me, so possibly it's The Bank of Mum and Dad? And not everyone's skint Dave, just us.
  7. Quite right Jack, but as we know music attracts flakes and fantasists. They're easy prey.
  8. Behringer gets a mixed reaction generally, but I like their stuff. I've had cause to use one of their bass combos as backline on more than one occasion and they did not lack heft or articulation. Of course marketing would have you think otherwise. Best pairing I've had was a Burman 100W all-valve through two Bill Fitzmaurice J12s with Kappalites. All gone now, I'm sorry to say.
  9. I'd take a punt on it if I was after one. I bet you it's something minor. So many dekos turn out to have very little, if anything, wrong with them. Mind you, if it's a plank don't blame me.
  10. I dont get too bothered by lack of reaction to an initial PM, but what I do find annoying when selling is that a BCer will say they'll buy the item, you mark it as 'sold', then they wait for days on end before paying for it - with no comms. So you're in a sort of irritated limbo. I'm too polite to say, 'come on feck-face, where's the loot?' And also don't feel I can sell the item to someone else. I only sell things because I need the money! If I want something myself I'll go for it and pay immediately. Unless I can't, but will always ask 'Is Friday OK?' or whatever. I think I'll add the caveat 'first to transfer cash gets the item' to future ads...
  11. Why do you say that? Is a Squier really that different to your current bass as to make it unplayable?
  12. Erm... obviously you mean 'iconic example of Italian automotive history'.
  13. You're right. Punters won't know - they can't tell the difference between a bass guitar and s banjo. So that leaves other bass players and of course nobody cares what they think. 'Knowledgeable' non-bass players regard Fender as the best you can get, so will look at your £4k Sadowsky and shake their heads sadly, thinking it to be a cheap copy. Har! Har!
  14. I dont understand the question.
  15. Gratuitous sax is OK if it's consensual. Otherwise just read a few jazz mags.
