  1. This. Cricket, Rugby and Hockey. Three sports that were compulsory at school and therefore three sports I want nothing more to do with.
  2. No problem - we'll be able to support home-grown UK manufacturing that was dismantled decades ago in favour of a deregulated service economy. Oh, wait...
  3. God no, that would be silly. We need screens that work with dead skin. I call them 'zombie screens'...
  4. Bodes well for the projected and much-vaunted post-Brexit trade deals with the US, doesn't it..?
  5. Seven hours? Crikey, I thought I was going some with three hours a day. Edit: But of course I have to spent another four hours a day on here, so...
  6. Yes... I'd go trans red with a white guard. Would look killer with an amber tint on that maple neck. As would trans blonde and a decent tort guard. * Please, no jokes about trans blondes...
  7. Why do you think I have all those mirrors??
  8. My guess is that it's one of the input (preamp) valves saying goodbye. I'd usually suggest replacing it yourself, but I know that there are some very high voltages involved in these amps, so I'd recommend Pro Audio Service or somewhere like that. Is it still under warranty?
  9. Me too, especially when I forget my glasses.
  10. Big problem for me. Sometimes I have to press the same button about four times to get it to work, which makes me want to hurl the phone against a wall. But then I hate doing internet stuff on a phone anyway, the bloody keypad is just too small for my banana-like fingers. Trying to put a 'For Sale' thread together with pics and so on is a very frustrating experience away from my desktop and I won't do it unless absolutely necessary. I HATE PHONES!!
  11. *SOLD* Schaller BML Chrome Tuners (4) *Price Drop £35 Inc* Unexpectedly re-available. The BMLs were used on many Fender products, particularly from 1976 - 1982. So if you have a late 70s/early 80s project on the go, these are for you. Or even if you don't, these are very good large-backplate cloverleaf vintage-style tuners which would be a worthwhile upgrade for any Fender-style 4-inline headstock. These aren't brand new - there are one or two small scuffs on a couple of them (see pic) - but they look great fitted (see other pic) and are in very good working order, have a firm, solid action and are a nice example of quality German engineering. Bushes included. Fits 17.5mm Fender-type tuner holes. Price is just £35 via PayPal gift or bank transfer please - includes UK mainland postage via an appropriate method to your door. Note: This is a UK sale ONLY. Thanks. Now SOLD, thanks.
  12. Yes, up to a point - but there are a lot more flakes and fantasists, too.
  13. Take a compressor on stage and if it gets a bit rowdy, throw it at the audience.
  14. What if you're bald, but wear a wig on stage? What then?
  15. Does this mean you should only use a compressor if you're bald..?
  16. If an engineer at a gig or a recording session wants to use one, that's his decision. I'm good either way.
  17. Have to agree with the general comments. Nothing worse than playing with a crap drummer, we've all done it. Makes the dreadful task a... dreadful task. Look at it this way - it's not a jump into nothing, because: You'll still have somewhere to live, work, friends, social activities. A band, no matter how committed you are to it, isn't the whole of your life. This may be a great opportunity to take a step back and rethink what's important to you. If playing bass in a gigging band is still important to you, then you'll find a way of doing it. Whatever you get into can't be much worse than the situation you're in now, can it? And chances are, it'll be a big improvement. Quit! You'll feel better for it!
  18. I think I'd probably take a gamble on an all-valve amp weighing 16kg. Especially if it sounds anything like a 25kg amp.
  19. I think I'm in love with metallic finishes. They really show off the body contours and they photograph well,, too. The paint seems to go on much more easily than with solid colours, for some reason.
  20. Superb. I think I need LPB in my life and soon!
