  1. There's another bass forum?
  2. You bought erotic postcards?
  3. I've been having problems with my breakfast angle and nut rattles. The current mrs discreet says it's an age thing.
  4. I'm never going to use all those sounds. When I had a Zoom B1on it was very interesting but in the end I found one combination of effects I really liked and used that all the time. In the case of the B1on that's fine, as the thing is only £45 brand new so worth buying if it gets 'that' sound for you.
  5. Enough for what..? A Little Mix gig..?
  6. The current mrs discreet: 'I'm going out now. I've opened some windows and turned the heating off. Bye!' (!!?)

Now she's calling me 'working class'! The cheeky old bag! I haven't worked in years!! :| This is abuse, pure and simple...

You 're not reading between the lines (or maybe it's the tinnitus).

"... and I may be some time" is the missing part of that statement.  Then it all makes sense.

Exactly. While she's out, build an exact replica of Scott's final camp in the living room. See if she gets the joke.

  7. Gaaahhhhh! WANT!! Edit: Wait, this could mean a glut of used V3 combos on the market at reasonable prices. Bwa-ha-ha!
  8. You've been very lucky, I've had exactly the opposite experience, despite desperately wanting to like Rics. There is also the JH issue, of course. I look at him and how he has behaved, then I look at Leo...
  9. Sold Doug a cab. Fast payment, frequent and timely comms and regular updates on the courier situation. All very smooth and a great deal. Recommended!
  10. Always had time for Steve Winwood, his music and his bands, and some years ago I met him by chance at a christening. So really, I should now tell you what a terrible twunt he was. However, he was charming, urbane, funny, showed a genuine interest in what I was doing musically and we chatted for some time. Sorry.
  11. A much-needed presence who cut through the cynical bullcrap of the music business. And unlike so many others, he never sold out. He was grotesque, totally unique and his like will not be seen again.
  12. The Australian Open: the current mrs discreet says she's eager to see the mens' semis. :|

You'll have to ask Fleabag. He collects the evidence. Being a policeman, he probably misread 'heft' as 'theft'! 😂

Is that why they go around in pairs; one can read and one can write?

Or, one can't read and one can't write!

  13. I don't like dual-coil Jazz pickups (humbuckers) as a rule, but it may be worth looking at one for this situation, just so it can compete with the Split-P. https://www.seymourduncan.com/pickup/hot-stack-jazz-bass-bridge
  14. Hipshot Ultralites have the elephant ears and a tiny footprint, as mentioned above. You can buy the licensed version (still Hipshot but made in Korea) for £13 each (plus £4 total shipping) from Bass Direct: http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Hipshot,_Licensed_tuners.html They stop neck dive in its tracks - even if you didn't think you had neck dive - and they will save you half a pound (226g) on the total weight of your bass. Having fitted a set I wouldn't use anything else. The only downside is that the biggest version (1/2" - 13mm) are slightly smaller than standard Fender-style headstock tuner holes, so you need appropriate bushes. These are readily available and well worth getting. Or use aluminium or copper tape for a snug fit.
  15. Yes, I can tell you that La Bellas improve wirh age, like a fine cheese. But not quite as smelly.
  16. DR make great roundwounds. Lo Riders are good and I like Fat Beams too.
  17. Wow! Really nice Spector and a lovely bit of firewood! [JOKE]
  18. Yes, that is REALLY annoying. Please site bods, we need to be able to edit and/or delete our posts in regular threads, PMs and Status Updates!! PLEASE!!
  19. I had similar luck on two wheels. It was the appearance of young master discreet that put a stop to it, not wanting him to lose his old dad before time.
  20. How could I arrange such a procedure for my dream partner?
  21. Surely the make-do, cobbled-together look IS the essence of 'Rickness'? Rrrowl!
  22. You could probably save yourself a fortune by just getting in a car and driving it. Accidents are statistics, there's no logical reason why you should have another. But then, I'm no psychiatrist. Or statistician.
  23. Thanks... be nice to have it back though. It allows self-moderation!
