  1. I've used the Marshall reflector to great effect. Costs around £80 new and 30-40 s/h A great solution at a reasonable cost
  2. I've used mine in rocky/ metal bands, function bands and church worship bands. Sounded great and present in all siruations
  3. The leading candidates will be the mxr as mentioned above- although I wouldn't describe it as clean per se, more growly. The ebs - new around £100 so s/h should be £60-£70. less growly than the mxr, and what I would call clean The dod octoplus- highly underrated pedal. The only octave I have found that gives you a tone control for the effected octave. Should be found for around £40 ish. Hth
  4. I'll check mine too
  5. Ive had two over the years- never had issue with the bridge. I would still much rather have the original bridge though
  6. Could be that one. I looked at it before, but the bridge has been changed
  7. Hey Paul, Don't suppose you could throw me the link if you're not interested could you?
  8. In one band, my stagename is Rex thunderbolt. My drummist is Rocco savage, our Singist is Kelly zero, and guitarists are rhys lightning and jimmy nightwear
  9. Iirc he is known for using old beaten up ampeg heads. The sound there is most likely a cranked head. I've heard people use the ebs multidrive to good effect, but any pedal that can emulate driven valves should get you in the ballpark.
  10. My home town was immortalised by chas and Dave and only fools and horses. We saw both lots doing the filming when I were a lad! The town in question is, of course - Margate!
  11. Anyone?
  12. I currently have the oc2, ebs, mxr, and dod octoplus. I've also got the whammy and digitech bsw both of which do a decent octave. I've also used the ehx and Aguilar. However the latter two didn't stand out for me sound wise It's absolutely crucial to find the one that sits best with your playing in a mix. I spent hours with both the mxr and ebs going head to head. I went with the ebs initially, but found for me that it didn't sit right in my mix. However once I got the mxr it all worked perfectly for me. The dod and boss have their own distinct and individual sounds and have definite uses for certain genres. I have to say that I love all of them in differing ways
  13. Bought a bass from Ben. A thoroughly nice and personable chap, both online and in person. I would happily deal with him again anytime! Cheers
  14. If they work independently- it is most likely a case of keep trying. They way I do it is to practice the bass part until I don't have to think about it actively, and then that releases my head to concentrate on the vocal side of it. Practice will make it better
  15. I have the Zakk wylde black label chorus. It's exactly te same as the m234 analog chorus. Love it to pieces I still have a soft spot for my trusty old ceb3 and ce5 (on which the m234 is based), and my Marshall supervibe.
  16. These jags are amazing basses. I played one back to back with a '72 p, and I would easily have chosen the jag over the p even if cash were no object. Btw love the phone!
  17. Hey dude! These might be better in the effects for sale thread. This thread is for chat about pedals rather than sales
  18. ^ what he said
  19. Oh! I'm in Gravesend! Gas alert!
  20. Mail order bride?
  21. Very nice Is it just me or does the control plate look crooked though
  22. I always had the same problem. As mentioned above the dry mode is the way forward. The bfd I find to be more versatile. With the separate controls for dry and fuzz give some really thick sounds in the mix
  23. Dudgeman- are you using the ve20 for vox or something else mate?
