  1. Such beautiful playing. Totally in context and nothing that overshadows the song. I'm always inspired watching him play.
  2. One of my pupils arrived at his lesson last week with one of the elite 18v models. It played very nicely, and sounded pleasant: there were some really great sounds to be found in there. It's not something I would buy, as a died in the wool p pup man, but it was definitely a keeper for him.
  3. Bass soul food, dod bass overdrive should both do the trick with a p bass.
  4. Just for information, and the outside hope that someone might find this thread in the future, I bought some of these on eBay, listed as suitable for sennheiser wireless packs, and they fit perfectly. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/231065267027
  5. Hi. I find myself in need of two pack clips - the little folded wire clips that attach to the rear of the transmitters. I already have a pouch to sit my main one in, however I prefer to clip the other one to the strap of the backup bass for swift changes, and have a clip for the times I forget the pouch, of just plain and simple want to attach it to my belt. Would anyone have any idea where I can source some? I've looked at some sennheiser ones, but not sure of the size differences. Cheers
  6. Mostly 50-110 But I do have one bass with 45-100. Super fast and super fun to play
  7. The vast majority of my work is cash in hand. I declare all of it- so it is all liable to tax. Paying cash in hand doesn't mean that it exists outside of the standard system, it just relies on the honesty of the person receiving it
  8. Toothpaste cap? Bottle cap? The one on a fruit shoot type drink should do it
  9. Donington 1988 Iron maiden Kiss Guns n roses Dave lee Roth Megadeth Helloween
  10. I suspect there is a fender endorsement deal going on. There was a big giveaway last year iirc of a fender bass with a RB album graphic design. The bass on Jools looked like a jag with a mud bucket type pup in place of a p. Defo a custom job 😉
  11. I've thought this exact thing many times over. Chasing all the 'pedals of the moment' that people rave about either here or on talk bass. I've found that, for me, very very few actually live up to the hype. (Inc source, boutique brands, and some of the ehx products) The boss offerings, as well as the ampeg inspired ones don't work for me. It has cost me an absolute fortune over the years!! The ones I've had the best results with are the bass soul food, bass tubescreamer, dod bass overdrive, cream pie for subtle drive and the glove for lemmy grind I don't have much use for full on drive/ distortion tones- so I don't have anything on my boards at the moment to cover that.
  12. Prince Hendrix McCartney was a guitarist before bass player
  13. Altars of madness - morbid Angel. Some light relief from teaching 😉
  14. The old hr2 harmonist does pure octave up. Can be found quite cheaply too 😉
  15. Soo good to see someone mention dread zep. I had the good fortune to work for them on a uk tour in the early 90's. Lovely lovely people and boy, did tortelvis know how to work a crowd!!
  16. Allegedly the cp18 is a clone of the guitar version
