  1. Hi guys.... is this worth 350 Euros? Will have a look at it tonight, noticed the not org. bad a.s.s. bridge that is not sitting on top of the body ...it is immerged into the wood...
  2. That is a beauty indeed!!! 🙂
  3. Does anybody know if it is possible to get colour information about a special red tone that they used on BB3000 basses back then? I want to get a BB body refinished in that colour.
  4. Yes, the normal model is out for a while I think, saw this model yesterday too.... Not my cup of tea. Boring design - in my thoughts, and the walnut finish.... togehter with I think.. 3300,- Dollars... not for me. The Yamaha MA design is a dream come true, would love to buy a 3000MA any time! When Michael announced the Schecter model first, I was realy disappointed 😞
  5. I don't know if that sounds weird but every time I try out a 734 against a BBP in the Musicstore I always prefer the 734. -For me- the neck fells better and it is the far more better bass when it comes to feel and playability. I always try to think, tha's not possible, but I won't buy a BBP ... Fender must be Yamaha's aim when it comes to colours... by the way I liked the 414 better than the 424. Had both. For the neck through... I love the neck through BBs but I prefer the bolt ones tone wise. It features my fingerstyle playing better with more punch. Are you happy with the b string? Have not played a 735 yet.
  6. I would love to have the chance to buy a BB that combines best of both worlds. It would not be THAT difficult for a company like Yamaha - who did it in former years 😉
  7. I like the colours of the 414 better. 700series colours are a bit.... boring too 😞
  8. Here is an old pic of the BB body I still have resting on the same guitar stand like my 1000... maybe I should do it..?
  9. Cool, thanks. There is a light on the horizon! Cites may exclude instruments/ parts in the future (2019) That makes espacially japanese online Stores more interesting.

  11. The connection to this BB thread is of course a BB.. 🙂
  12. Did anybody recently buy a bass let's say from Japan or the US? I wonder how "dangerous" it is to order from outside the EU concerning this CITES regulations..?
  13. Me too. Got used to it from the early BBs.
  14. Does anybody know why Yamaha changed the inlays on the fretboard? They used to start on the first fret, know they start from the 3 fret.
  15. As I mentioned a few pages before with photo, I once bought a Warmoth neck for a 414 and the neck somehow did not feature the body well. I would LOVE to finally have a neck for the BB whatever body that still is hiding in a corner of a room here somewhere but it was a quiet expensive experiment with the 414 and it did not turn out well. So I am still hesitating to buy a neck.. 😞
  16. When I played the 734 in the store I was positively surprised of both sounds. I liked the passive sound (of the bass with fresh strings) very much and loved that the active sound did not make a total different thing out of it! I can understand that you like both sounds!
  17. It's about being a fan of the style of an object that got iconic characteristics in a way. Not about partners.. To keep it realistic .. 😉
  18. For me it's like.... changing the org. wheel rim of the most beautiful car in the world... an e type Jaguar against a modern one, like for a Porsche one. It might go faster in the bend but will never look as cool!!!! 🙂 It will never be the same. But I know, that's only my view, there will be always guys who only go for speed and that's ok. 🙂
  19. It's a bit like a Fender P without pickguard. Still a Fender but no "real" P.
  20. Well only with surrounds it's a real BB (in my world) 🙂
  21. Well we all have good and bad ideas sometimes 😛
  22. If I could be a consultant at Yamaha...I would try to convince them to built pu frames where any other brand could fit in and still keep the surround design. Best of both worlds. Still I don't like the design without it.
  23. In my opinion, the strings are an often underrated factor. THE most underrated factor! When over here the "Musicstore" in Cologne got in the 734a, I tested it and was very pleased with its sound. After some time, I went there to test it again, even brought my old Yami to compare but by that time the strings of the 734 were so done that to this day I could not manage to get the same impression out it. It sounds very bad and I am happy that I played it when strings were new. Writing this- I was in the store yesterday- the 734 could not convince me to buy it because it sounds so "bad" with old strings (for my ears) like any bass does. I like them fresh with as much highs as possible... Out of experience (for my sound) I always tend to say: The best bass effect (pedal) is: putting on new strings!
  24. Please excuse my question ...I am not from England... there is a Yamaha store in London???
  25. Did you record anything in the studio? The sound difference will not get the producers like !
