So...as i wrote before... this is just a very quick recording out of the headphone out after unpacking the thing. I will do some better riffs in better quality on the weekend. First bass: Harley Benton PB50 Telecaster out of the box, fresh strings (the originals) , second bass: Yamaha BB1000ma (a:P/J, b: only P mode) No good riff, no good timing ! Just fiddling for the first time with the amp 😄 Finger style, no external effects, well the SDrum of course. Listen with headphones.. Digbeth DB500H - headphone out

I like it ! 🙂 But I think, it is not the amp for everyone. I tend to say it is a rock amp. Not for hifi-slap enthusiasts and not a metal amp. The drive section is nothing like a Darkglass ... I did record some very quick sounds but only from the headphone out cause I did not have a xlr cable when I unpacked it. I could do a quick rough mix ..

So the full list of BBs over the time is 3x300, 4x414,3x424, 2x424x,2x614, 5x1000ma, 2x1600, 2x3000, 2x3000ma. Still in da house are only 3x1000ma and 1x300. I was about to buy a 734 and a 434m several times but I do love the 1000ma's so much that I don't want to mess arround with other BBs seriously any more 😛 Calling them my "corona handcrafting project" I bought three Harley Benton Telcasters basses in in the last 1,5 years and pimped them to beauties. (The last one arrived yesterday, so it will have to be done on that bass) The first two I bought even used for a few bucks and I can tell you they do that vintage P sound unbelivable good.

Well THIS list of mine would buy you a nice car. A new one 😛

Interesting idea a list like this. Mine would be (with several multiple items of one numer) 300, 414,414x,424,424x,614,1000ma,1024x,3000,3000ma. What a waste of money 🙈

And because it is fun to listen to this forgotten tracks...here is another song with Mitzky featuring my black BB1000MA 🤣 Mitzky - Duke Nukem Theme [Remonstered]

LOL.... imagining Andy waiting for the delivery guy... I recall a fun song that a friend of mine and I did some years ago...it is a song all about waiting for the "DHL" delivery guy every day 😄 You got to know that my friend is one of the biggest gear heads I know !!! He buys only used stuff and there might be not a single day on what not at least another pedal is on its way to him 😛 That's how he came to the idea to write this song. Last time we counted his pedal board consistet of 99 pedals... He is so deep into the pedal stuff that he buys the same effect from different years to learn how they differ in sound... Vocals are easy (even 'though it's German) "I want the DHL guy (man) to appear, DHL guy get here now" , "I could live my live but I'm sitting here waiting for the DHL guy" and so on. Recorded in the living room, bass (BB1000MA - what else) via an old Hartke VXL Attack into the computer. DEHALEL (DHL)

There was a time when I had 3200 reasons and those were good times. Cool move Andy :-)

I think the players that N E E D (!!) a 2 kg 500/800/1000 watts bass amp,- because of transport - make 5-10 % of all players. Everything else is only "nice to have" or because it is "the thing" right now. Good to know that they always seem to find a 500/800/1000 watts cab somewhere that they don't have worry about.. And there are enough of this tiny matchboxes out there, because 95% of all lightweight amps are built small. The 750g pedal thing actually is the even more efficient solution for backpackers because if you don't need to worry about a cab... leave the power amp at home too. If the 30kg cab is provided, an amp of 2 kg should be an even smaller problem. But thank god that's up to us all the way we like it and this is just my opinion 🙂 I like it big and with some weight so the amp won't fall of the cab. Just some live experience 😄
-
Concerning the weight... 7kg is not too heavy. As long as you are not one of the bass players that is cursed to carry your amp in the metro... who cares about the weight of an amp??? (under 15kg) Cabs is another thing. But in my very own opinion less weight only can go ahead with compromises in sound. The question is, how big the compromise is you are willing to except. There are few guys of real BIG bands who go light.... (I don't think of me, just to be clear here 😛 )

I ordered a 500 head today. It should arrive by thursday. I like the concept and was looking for a new head.. so...we will see.

In fact, the "new" BBs are built different from the older ones. Even my cheap 300 is featuring different wood and the neck is not even close to the 414 (and younger) basses. I would not dare to say the new range is cheaper, cause the 414 (and younger) basses are following new attributes like lighter bodies and more modern necks. Soundwise all BBs are (in my opinion) high class. Not a Precision clone because they all sound very BB-ish 😄 Love the Precision or BBs.

What film?

Not for me..

Do I understand right? PH is selling his bass? THE one? I can't belive that ! It should be on his wall...?
-
BB red with preamp, combo, smartphone, fingerstyle
-
It should be visible on a stage 🙂
-
It is difficult to catch the colour

Project 1 completed: For me, only the 1000ma/3000ma have that sexy a_ss😄
-
Today some "spare parts" will arrive. I had my org. tuners anodized. Not completely due to costs. Only wings and axis. The red 1000 will be complete by then. Happy 🙂

A fact that I like is that the Hartke has so much bass. With the "SHAPE" and the "BASS" knob there is so much bass to dial in... it has defenetly more than enough to dial into the signal!
