I want a GOOD cab 😉 Just take a look at the frequency range ...🙉 The Glockenklang does 36-18500 and is 400 watts. Soundwise this is like the comparison between an old Fiesta with broken exhaust and a new Mercedes. I played this 15"...it is really a stand alone cab without the caracteristics of an oldschool 15! Like the Mesa Boogie Power House 15" is. But this is close to 40 kg At least the soundfiles are international... 🙂 Test Glockenklang

By the way...because I want something easy to carry for rehearsals and live ( my bas player back....) I am thinking of getting one of this, maybe even two to have a nice light 800watts 2x15 rig... I love a GOOD 15" speaker! The Glockenklang cabs are expensive but their neo speakers don't sound like neos! The speakers are built especially (and only) for Glockenklang Glockenklang 1x15 Art line

Hartke HyDrive HD112 and TX600 groove test
gobasserk replied to enricogaletta's topic in Amps and Cabs
May I ask how you rate this 112HD cabs for a rock band? Two of them of course. I read a lot about how inefficient they shall be..?- 14 replies

Thanks, sometimes not beeing a native speaker in an English forum does suck 🙈☠️

Al, even the google translator can't tell me, what you mean with the last sentence but it sounds good 😛

I am talking about my ears not the ones of the audience.

Well, I like his reviews (his pronunciation is weird ..) and I had to check what you ment...Found it... That's absolutely my opinion 😎😂 Go to 4:08 min basstheworld

There was a music shop nearby that had to close down last month. I was able to buy a new Markbass 210 Combo for 400 Euros. I loved the weight! Testest it with my Yamis... Disliked the sound, disconnectet the amp and played the cab with an Ashdown ABM600 and a Hartke and an old Warwick Profet 5.2. The difference was significant. The cab sounded better with all the not Markbass amps. Let's put it this way... I know how my basses sound because I am playing for example the 1000's for the last 20 years. Any digital amp sounds not like anaolog in an basicaly way. And I am not ok with the way digital amps change the sound of a bass in such a dramatic way. Others may be ok with that new sound, I want it like it always was 🙂
-
Same with neo speakers... and it is funny that they tell you that with the neo cabs you'd get exactly out of it what you put in... but played over a digital amp it is not the instrument ..it is an analog signal transfered into digital and put together again. And it does sound different. this is not denied by anyone... 😉
-
Of course they do. Doesn't matter to me 🙂 I went to the "Musicstore" in Cologne willing to buy the (for me) best sounding amp three years ago. Not a joke ! I ended up with an Hartke LH1000. The Hartke stuff is in the same test room as the Glockenklang ... That nice, warm and NATURAL bass growl.... was only to be heard in analog.

The green BB's are rare. The 3000ma even more. Black ones are on ebay from time to time.
-
To edit the digital amp issue.... I noticed that you can't find any new test vids using analog bass amps any more. All cabs and basses are recorded with a digital amp now. It sounds so bad for me!! I don't get it. Everything sounds thinner and worse...the basses, the cabs.. And nobody plays an ordinary bass anymore... everyone keeps on playing somewhere above the 12th fret, tapping, freaky (cool) fast melodies but noone does BASS... Strange thing...
-
BB3000ma or BB1000ma ? The 3000ma sounds a bit different due to the neck through construction. Edit: As I mentioned before I liked the 1000ma better soundwise.
-
I can confirm this - that's THE reason why I don't go for a nice lightweight bass amp. I had Orange, Hartke, Tecamp and Markbass. The Hartke HD Combos ( I did stack a HD12 and a HD15 combo) did sound so cool alone. Everytime the band came in...bass was gone! Of course you can power up till you can hear the bass again but at this point the windos crack. Any analog bass amp is better than a even a Glockenklang digital amp.
-
For example...if you watch the YYZ vids on youtube of this YYNOT band guy, he gets exactly the Rush sound with his Jazz Bass but I would not get there with a PJ bass. Then I have a very different attack playing fingerstyle etc. But I am not trying to replicate a sound but want to shape my own.
-
So here is a track only with the small combo and the sdrum for the beat. And the pic of the YYZ of the recording before. BB1000ma_without_pedal
-
Well, with the YYZ you have several way to maintain the low end. I did not buy the pedal to get Geddy Lee's sound. I dont like too much distortion, I just like the possibility to keep it low AND have a bit of valve sound. I used both pu's - and I can do the same lick without the YYZ . And I use all my gear to shape my sound, so I am not that much interessted in a pure bass sound without everything on recordings. In my opinion this is eqal to the pure sound of a Gibson Les Paul - it sounds best with an distorted amp and a 412 cab 🙂 But I can of course record a lick without the YYZ 🙂
-
Mh....please try again! In the org. post .
-
Thanks a lot Al but the bass was never for sale.. I just got it yesterday.
-
I recorded a quick bass lick with my cell phone in front of my little HD25. YYZ pedal for some smooth distortion. BB1000ma

So the misty green BB1000ma arrived. I think the one with the new finish will be ready next weak. I will post a new group hug of the basses when they gather!
