1. Howdy So earlier last year, i decided to sell my first proper bass, My fender USA Jazz 5 1996. I wasn't playing it, i'd gone off the colour, and the damage had stopped being cool, and was starting to bug me. So i put it up for sale here, and starting receiving some rather cheeky cash offers of around the £200 mark.. After a while, i almost sold the bass on a few occasions, and even found myself making up or exaggerating faults to put off potential buyers. So eventually i decided to keep it, and back in the cupboard it went. A month passed, and i got another offer (sensible this time) to which i declined, the offerer admitted he planned to refinish the bass! This turned on a light bulb in my head, and i started planning how i would refinish my faithful Jazz. Cut a long story short, i decided to Have a gold Jazz, with stacked knobs. I sanded the Red paint off, and sent the body off to the incredibly talented Dan Macpherson at DM guitars. 4 weeks later, i had the body back, looking great, with a faint sparkle to the gold finish. The new pots and control plate came from All Parts, which i hastily soldered together to make a working bass! After an hour of screwing bits back together, and restinging with some black roto Nexus strings, the Golden 5 String 60's stacked knob late nineties Jazz Bass Was born! The only thing i would love to do would be to get the headstock painted in a matching Gold, but to be honest i think it looks Fabulous anyway! Heres a pic with my 73 P Bass Hope you Enjoyed!
2. Thought i best update my Shuker collection having recently welcomed another into the pack.. So here we have : Singlecut 6 - Commissioned by Eude.. this thing is a lovely 33" Bass, very comfy with a very direct sound, can be loud in the mix without killing other instruments.. Jazz 5 - My 21st Birthday present from my parents, Upgraded to an East Preamp, sounds killer, the East really has made this the most versatile bass i own. Artist Pro 6 - Wow, this thing i mad, sounds like a double bass and weighs nothing! crazy. Had a bit of a game getting the action where i wanted, but thats what you sacrifice for a piezo bridge i guess!
3. check out some pics of queen in the mid eighties, john deacons p bass was black with gold hardware

5. I owe so much of my playing to church, as i was let into that world really early on.. just regularly playing from the chord charts with different people every week was just great for my playing. Have also had some great gigs on that scene, done the big stages at soul survivor and new wine, aswell as led worship at some big events at cathedrals.. i'm really thankful i've the chance to be a part of it all

14.
I was thinking that, I know I'd rather a MM to a Fodera.
I'd take the fodera.. sell it and and buy many MM's

16. like in a strange way
17. +1 for the AK4x10, really great cab
18. In my experience.. No, I use 2 of the 4x10's and the sd1200.. IMO, I really don't like a p bass through markbass, but anything else, I can get pretty much any sound I need
19. If you back out of the program, does the bass sound disappear even though the app is still running? Just thinking about reading charts and stuff..
20. Never thought to post in here.. I'm a 22 year old bass player, currently in Walsall in the west midlands. Graduated with a first class degree in popular music last year, regularly gigged since 14. Have recently left originals band to find something more stimulating for me.. Can you offer that? I'm looking to play funk, soul, neo soul or anything that grooves along and makes me smile.. Lots of experience (well as much as a 22 year old can have) playing a wide range of styles, not interested in musicals (have done them but don't particularly enjoy), metal, classic rock or punk. Wide range of pro gear, both modern and vintage sounds. Have own transport and access to a wide range of PA gear. Good image, reliable, easy going... Some experience: regular dep work for past 6 years 3 musicals Competent stage tech/back line engineer First class degree pop music Headlined own night as a solo bassist at the jam house Birmingham Support slots with multiple signed and touring bands Festival appearances and residency Lots of studio experience with 2 originals outfits I'd love to get into a new Christian/gospel kinda thing if anyone's doing anything like hat and needs bass let me know, I've played at soul survivor and new wine, and it's a scene I'd love to be a part of once again Get in touch for more info, headshots or anything like that: [email protected] James
21. Not enough strings for me dude! I've always loved that top though

23.
Terence was a price rise on April 1 anyway.
Surely that's an example of the extremely helpful iPad/phone spell check?
