1. I love these. When I bought my Streamliner this was also on the list. Good luck with your sale. If I had the cash I would jump at it. Especially in that condition.
2. Could be people trying to free up cash for the new MesaBoogie?
3.
He says that the new amps are going to have the ICEpower modules. And Thunderpaws, he doesn't have any Focus 210 cabs kicking about the place, sadly. S.P.
Thanks for asking anyway. Haha. That's great that he is moving forward with things. Good luck to the guy.
4. Yeah, I know, shocking. Wonder how loud the 50 will go and how many rock guitars it could cut through and how it would fair in pub rock. Imagine releasing a product and not having a video ready!
5. http://www.ampeg.com/products/portaflex/pf-50t/ Look what I just saw. Looks interesting but damn ugly!
6. I get a bit of choke at the moment and I like low action. If I want to get rid of this choke phonenon a little tweak of the truss rod could sort it out, but so too could raising string height at the bridge. What is the most appropriate one to go for?
7. Any plans for a Streamliner with that new 800 watt power module other companies are using? Any chance he has any Focus 210 cabs left? Who's the Numpty at Fender who stuffed everything up?
8. Bloody hell, good luck. 33 songs! I struggle with 3 and a third!
9. They came across very well. For playing a Telecaster guitar there seemed to be a fair amount of heft behind her notes. Does she downtune a bit to achieve this? Couldn't see her amp settings from 200 yards away.
10. That's great. She did great, and Cat too. Cat used to be with one of my friends. He said she would be over the moon to be supporting the Foos. Who wouldn't be. They could do with a bass player, especially for stadium sized rock! I'm sure there would be no shortage of takers for that slot. They came across brilliantly with original sounding material.
11. That's a lovely set up. What's the abm rig?
12. What a cracking gig last night. Nate Mendel had a fine array of instruments on show and his playing suitable held things together. I thought his best sounding bass was his red P, the newer one of the two he used. His old one didn't cut through as much. Dunno what pups he has but what a significant difference it made. He also brought out a white Ric that sounded nice and his other may have been a Gretsch or a Gibson semi hollow. Anyway, I was impressed with him. I know he gets slated but he showed a fine array of melodic and 8ths. If only he smiled more! Royal Blood were pretty good too. What a set up. Does he have different strings going to different amps? Honeyblood didn't have a bassist so I won't comment, except to say that the local girls did good.
13.
I don't agree. If they wanted to make more money they'd just produce expensive basses cheaply. I don't see why a beginner or intermediate should have to shell out £2k for a bass.
And I don't see why not, if you can afford it. And I don't see why an advanced player, or a pro, should have to either. And, cheaply produced expensive basses?! Fender tried it and failed. Value for money is not the same as cheap or expensive.
14. This thread has some really sttoopid posts and some cracking posts. To me, to a great extent, most of this can be blamed on the marketing departments and magazines. This doesn't just go for musical instruments but sporting gear, cars, houses, etc... When we start out we are encouraged to buy a beginners model until we get good end ugh to buy a more expensive model. companies need us to progress so they can sell more units.
15. How about the OB1, as it looks like it ticks so many boxes, and if you still want the Ampegish sound stick a Catalinbread SFT or similar in front of it.
16. A decent computer with a decent DAW
17. Thanks Ratman. If you have a minute can you explain why?
18. What would be the benefit of sticking this in the affects loop or on the other hand in front of the pre amp section of an amp? I am low on knowledge when it comes to stuff like that!
19. I believe GuitarGuitar sell MesaBoogie, try giving them a bell
20. Exactly what I was thinking. The feature set is almost exactly the same as the Streamliner. Only difference I can see is the mid control being predetermined, but usefully to set at high and low mid. Oh, and the missing bright blue LEDs that intermittently work on mine. Bet it's the same darn thing with tweaked eq and a different power section.
21. Van Halen, Women and Children First. Love this album to bits. Most concentrate on the first two and 1984, but this one rocks like a mo fo. Also, it's the best balance of sound across the frequencies Van Halen produced (for me). You can actually hear Michael Anthony's playing and it's actually pretty good.
22. Yeah, I can live with it. Sounds great. Adds a bit of definition to my low end and had a drive function that actually cuts through with my Genz Streamliner with three loutish guitars in the mix.
23. Occasionally once I have set my gear up and switched everything but the soul food on, then step on the soul food to turn it on, I get a massive Pop sound from my amp. Y'know like if you do something wrong. However, I'm not doing anything wrong. A bit of a worry.
24.
I use a THR10 for guitar and bass at home. Very good for both purposes, surprisingly effective for bass.
Would it cope for bass if playing along with a couple of acoustic guitars in a home setting?
