Maybe Geoff bought it when he was drunk one night and can't actually remember doing it. Then this guy (Op) contacts him saying he has his bass. But Geoff doesn't want to be a cock so just goes along with it for a while til he remembers what the Op is on about.

Stoopid phone..... Some of these have bigger weighting over their affect on sound. And human ears are all different, and so are our brains, and sometimes air is more dense, the room might have a carpet, the other room might be a concrete cellar.
Every material has different acoustic and mechanical properties. Every piece of wood has at least a slightly different structure to the next piece of wood. Therefore, they will definitely all transmit the energy from vibrating strings at least a little bit differently. The problem could be that the way the neck is joined, quality of neck pocket, windings on individual pickups, etc... Like, lots of etc.... All combine to make up the sound of your guitar. Thanks Bluejay. See, knew it must've been done.

Always interested in hearing other peoples music. How about a thread here where you list your Band's or bands Name(s), Genre, originals/covers, hyperlink to tunes. Sorry if this has been done before and I have missed it. I always hear friends talking about new bands and wonder how the hell they heard about them!

BassDirect have a run down of all their stock octave pedals on their Facebook page today.
I thought Scouting For Girls was a play on Baden-Powell's 'Scouting For Boys' book title? It is a dreadfully naff name, admittedly. I swear as much as the next docker, but I detest band names with profanity in them (that Anal C bunch being a a prime example). Trying faaar too hard to be controversial. "Look at us, we're being rude! *snigger*". Oh, grow up.
Haha. Our band name is Sula Sula which is Latin for Red Footed Booby...

I had Hand, Foot and Mouth disease. Now my fingers hurt!
Thunderpaws replied to Thunderpaws's topic in General Discussion
Hi folks. Yeah, those that have had it will know the throat part is the worst, and the fever. Like swollowing broken glass for a few days. My hands and feet rashed up with big red blotches. Thought it was clearing up but about a week later all of my skin fell off my finger tips and now I play on thin soft skin. Doesn't seem to be toughening up much. Sure it will in time though. Has made me better with a pick though. -

Anyone else experienced this? Got it from my wee boy about 3 months ago. When I was recovering the skin peeled from my finger tips and bottom of my feet. Don't play bass with my feet so that's ok, but I can't seem to get my fingers tough again and my fingertips are hurting every time I play. Any remedies out there?! What a stoopid post.

It does look lovely. Great choice. Is the neck a jazz neck or a p neck?

Excellent thread. Just interested in a comparison with another pedal too versus the VT. The Catalinbread SFT is supposed to model the SVT too. How would you compare the SFT and the VT?

When I were a lad, my first bass was a Vester a Stage Series in bright bright red with a white pick gaurd and potentially a maple neck. I say "potentially" as it didn't seem very hard or very nice. Body turned out to be made of plywood when I took it to bits years later. It always sounded dull and I didn't really appreciate it. It was bloody light in weight mind you. My new American Special P in 3tsb with a Rosewood fretboard is magnificent in comparison. I really appreciate it.

The end of the creative Fender Japan range?
Thunderpaws replied to Chiliwailer's topic in General Discussion
The Modern players have been discontinued, no more Chinese "Fenders" being produced.
Are the Coronado and Starcaster not Chinese? -
Smaller replacement for my 1970s SVT stack

Buy any head and stick a Catlinbread SFT pedal in front of it. -
Couldn't have nicer things to say about their Scottish branches at all. They have always been excellent. I am sure the owners would be well peeved if they heard about your experience.

I have one with a maple fingerboard that I bought new about 5 years ago... Maybe more. Anyhow, love it. I learned to leave the active switch in passive position. Especially when recording. Also, series (middle switch up I think) absolutely steamrolls live or rehearsal. Love the sound on the neck pickup with those settings. Both pick ups on helps cut through noisy guitars as the mids seem to come up a bit. Try dropping the bass and treble knobs back a bit too as that seems to give right good balance to the EQ meaning easier to cut through without going volume crazy. Good luck with it. Built like tanks too.

Hi Phil. You we're going to email me cab dimensions and component dimensions so I could make a CAD model. Are you still looking for that? Cheers, garry

Thanks Highfox. Something that can do fairly subtle well and still sound good cranked is good to have. Might be time toove on my ODB. I like it for one song that we do, but it only makes an appearance for about 8 bars! Poor thing is underused with me.

They were my first ever gig. Edinburgh playhouse in around 90. Supported by The Electric Boys. What ever happened to them?! And Thunder were great that night. Still remember it well.

Hi there. Basically, I feel that my boss pedal sounds a bit harsh to my ears (though sounds cool as hell with my flanger on at the same time). Looking for a pedal that keeps it smooth and creamy even when being driven a bit harder. Genre is kinda alt rock and grungy at times. The SFT sounds quite good on the videos i have seen but they are hard to rely on. I'll never push it, boss, super hard as I rhink I am quite reserved on that front.

Does anyone use this combination and would be willing to offer a short review? Currently use a boss odb3 which I have modded with Monte Allums. Still sounds a bit too harsh for me even at lower gain settings. Cheers, Garry

Update on this situation. I tried several of these through a rather nice Ampeg Heritage amp at GuitarGuitar in Glasgow. Went for the American a Special. It is lovely.
