  1. So two cameras with two perfect lenses. What you complaining about? 😛
  2. That is literally the perfect video lens for FF. Get to it.
  3. The waterproof stuff is a big positive I agree. I took mine diving - again, the lack of low light meant that it wasn't the best. Maybe I am just expecting too much out of it. I guess my phone has taken over from the portable camera need... and if I want to take a small rig, I can stick my phone on a osmo gimbal. Maybe I just need a killer application to justify buying one. Hmm... let me think. Those M50s are great. Well, if you ever see yourself selling off your lenses, let me know - there may be something I'm interested in. My mate picked up the 8-15L yesterday for 350 quid. To say Im a little jealous is a bit of an understatement... I've got a 14mm 2.8... but the AF and the extra wide.... argh. Next time.
  4. I've got an old GoPro that never really cut it in the dark. I don't know what they are like now - I'm tempted to get another one, although I certainly haven't had the moneys worth out of what I paid for mine, so I'm more than a bit reluctant to splash out again... especially when I have a list of lenses I still want to get.
  5. Interesting. I've been looking at the GoPro, seems quite an impressive piece of kit... especially if it can perform in low light. I've got a friend who does similar with a Mevo. Takes crops to get different angles, despite there being only one camera.
  6. @stingrayPete1977 ^^ look at what you missed out on. The place was missing a stingrayPete in a morphsuit or something...
  7. Here's my setup with a load of static cameras - with friend on monopod roaming cam. All set between 1.4 and 2.8. It's certainly a learning curve but a quite rewarding way to document gigs. Apologies for it being a bit rough around the edges... guitarist, keys, perc and female singer all deps... and this was after a run through at soundcheck when somebody came up to us asking us to play Timewarp... so we gave it a go... warts and all. It's all a learning curve. For this one... I learned that putting the wide high up on the balcony at the back of the venue in the cold leads to condensation on the lens...
  8. @dave_bass5 - I'm sure that you've got enough on the camera front to sort out some proper gig footage? You've certainly got some fast enough lenses to cope with low light havent you?
  9. Lighting is always difficult if shooting on (what I presume they are using) DSLR with 8 bit video. I reckon they made the right choice of advising against it because it'll look to be likely blown out and cheesy. Its one of the constant struggles I have when videoing my gigs. Anyway, this looks great - especially for the money.
  10. Not really - it just depends if the wax is just thick around the edges (which is enough to stop the taking of an ear impression), or actually thick enough so that it occluding the canal deeper in your ear. If you have the latter, you tend to have a brighter and more airy sounding hearing post microsuction... a bit like restoring the uber highs on a graphic eq! Only advice is to avoid getting water in your ears until the ear can build back up it's natural level of protection (because wax should be in there( to protect and avoid infection).. just not in abundance!)
  11. OK - so what's next? 😛 Who's wanting customs?
  12. I love the feeling of an "ear toilet" or micro suction. Super cold and super clean feeling after. Oh... and it's like you have bat ears. And as for the impressions, yeah, love that too. 😛 Good choice on the UE6 - it's a really cool piece of gear and you'll no doubt enjoy!
  13. OK, I'm going to be that guy that throws the Fletcher Munson curve into the equation. If we don't hear in a linear fashion for differing volumes then... *scurries out*
  14. With coils made of barbed wire no doubt. Thing is, without people understanding the physics, buyers just grin and nod... and the salesmen in the shop (equally not understanding), just regurgitate the same tripe... and low and behold... it becomes fact!
  15. That's dirty marketing... and utter BS at the same time.
  16. I'm sure it's the guy from Mission who is selling the specialist Helix Stomp power units... proclaiming that despite the evidence proving otherwise, the competitors psus don't supply enough power. I kinda take what the guy says with a pinch of salt.
  17. It's a good shout. They're probably the best all round choice.
  18. If your the salesman... then it would seem that way.
  19. Alot of it is buzz. A FRFR cab should be exactly that. The only really true FRFR cabs seem to be the ones that are sporting DSP to make them so. Whilst it is theoretically possible to achieve a FRFRish passive cab, the majority that are marketed as such are not... but hey, it says FRFR so a fool and his money and all that* * maybe that's a bit unfair... if your modeller and (not)FRFR sound good together, it's good. Let your ears do the determining rather than the graphs. The reason I like DSP FRFR is that I like to take as much of the speaker out of the equation and have it all taken care of in modeller world. I think there are a lot of manufacturers selling as FRFR as they are using speakers that are typically less coloured in sound that you'd typical find in a guitar cab.
  20. My current faves are - Ernie Ball volume pedal with insert cable. (Rubbish as a wah though, unmatchable for control over smooth transitions and volumes) Mission Engineering (General purpose and useful as a wah) The Reflex is great - especially if you need the multiple outs and space saving on the pedal boards. Obviously none of these are particularly cheap options... but its worth knowing that you can take a volume pedal and pair it with an insert cable to use an expression pedal* * Make sure whatever you use it with can set the max and min input ranges.
  21. @Gottastopbuyinggearin relation to you questioning whether a sub would be enough for your bass... well, yeah - I think I've mentioned before, the most important frequencies for your bass lie in the 1st harmonic... so 82Hz for a bottom E or 62Hz if you are running with a B string. Both of those frequencies should easily be able to be covered by tops. If you put too much of the fundamental through the sub, it will all come out as mud anyway. The main advantage of the sub is taking the energy sapping kick (circa 50-60Hz) out of your tops power amps.
  22. No - she's not musical at all. She just wears the outfits better.
  23. https://www.festivalofun.co.uk/Ghost_Face_-_Officially_Licensed_Scream_Mask/p5573329_18630893.aspx Although I think my other half does the look a lot better... (She's got better leggings, better footwear (my back couldn't take those... especially on the cobbles)... and above all, a better figure!) - but I have got the white bass... which looks great for the all black and white look. Have to say, the mask is great for visibility... I was MDing on the night so needed good visibility to see what was going on.
