  1. Not hardware based no. As an idea, but your bass into a DAW with an API plugin and have a play to see if it gives you something that you dig on before going searching for the hardware equivalent
  2. I dunno, I would say that there was always a bit of feist even back then. I just think the balance of personalities have changed and people misunderstand discussion and argument as hostility. Most of the time it’s just misunderstood passion.
  3. The Grace stuff is well nice... but if you are starting to get into that calibre of gear, I would urge you to look at studio channel strips. You are kinda heading in the same direction as I went - I ended up favouring channel strips over dedicated bass pres and actually ended up buying a Kemper so I could start collecting profiles of channel strips as opposed to amps. Every time I go to a top end studio, I always take my Kemper in just in case they have anything particularly tasty I like the sound of. So yeah, Kemper with SSL, Neve, Chandler, Focusrite, Tubetech... I love it.
  4. You see, the world is like this now - everybody has a soapbox via social media and online forums. Historically these people had no platform in which to spout their unquantified opinion. Somebody ask for gear advice? Step forward random person with no certifiable credentials to offer their unconsidered view. Call them upon it and their world starts to wobble. These are also the same people, that seem to buy in the madness of PC the world seem to be stumbling into. for the record.... If somebody spouted bull to my face in the real world, I’ll call them on it, just as I would on here.
  5. Pitch shift up an octave in the recording if you find it hard deciphering the bass from the low end mush.
  6. Oh gosh, people are being serious. Serious??
  7. Move along now, snowflake. Glad to be of service. (Assuming snowflake is considered an insult in these parts?)
  8. Hey I’m big enough to say I can be a bit angsty - but it’s usually backed up through my experience and me being passionate enough for others not to make the same mistakes as I have. If I see people talk bull, I’ll pull people up on it - because I’m amazed at how many people talk with authority about gear or subjects that they have zero experience of... self appointed experts if you will. I’m hoping those that meet me in real life can see that I’m a good egg and if you read the threads I participate in and those that I have written lengthy PM exchanges with, will see that I only have the best interests of everybody at heart. Life is too short to be making mistakes and playing through stinky poo gear. Im sure there’s a few people on here that my input on FRFR and inears alone has changed their gigging life... for the better!
  9. 10000 posts, mostly drivel I expect.
  10. I’m offended that you think Rickenbackers are horrible. Please stand by as I become Guest EBS_Freak. FWIW I thought the comments on barefaced were very balanced and the comments made are not without evidence to support such comments. So...?
  11. I think it’s a bit unfair to single out Barefaced as a singular reference point of being on the receiving end of something. Rickenbacker, Keytars, Bros, ACS (in the inears thread) are some of the things things that have come to mind without too much thought - as things that have been brought up in not the most positive light. With regard to products... Just because something is home grown shouldn’t or doesn’t grant immunity to public comment, especially if money for goods is expected to change hands. I for one, think it’s very important that things like this are not censored. It should be also pointed out, that it’s clearly a barefaced fan that brought barefaced up - and because the opinion didn’t go the way they intended, milk got spilt. Cmon people, there’s enough vegan sausage rolls for everyone.
  12. Hey Guest bassman, there’s no need to leave just because your views aren’t shared - it’s probably more dangerous out there in the wider world.
  13. Got lucky I guess. Can wrap cables too. It may warm your heart to know that the male singer has yet to get to a gig on time... and has never done anything regarding the movement/packing/carrying of gear. And yes, he doesn't own his own microphone either.
  14. There's been many "kick back" cabs over the years... they never really gained any popularity though. Maybe that's because primarily, they were quite budget offerings and their performance not as good as it could have been.
  15. You are kidding right? Although, attention is taken off the keytar somewhat by (I presume) your slacks.
  16. Waste of time. Most of the time I carry around two Dante enabled Mackie DL32Rs. (one for FOH, one for Monitor world). I've got a plastic suitcase to carry cables around in... primarily because it keeps the mixing racks (I've got each DL32R in a separate case) light and portable... and the cables light and portable. Why would you want to carry around a big bulky, heavy rack? I used to be a big rack nut. Not I would rather have gear that everybody can carry. Having said that, the girlie singer in my band dead lifts 50kg subs into the back of the van by herself... despite me telling her not to.
  17. And also, when two of the feet fall off, you'll get tiltback monitoring anyway.
  18. What happened to sticking rack case lids under cabs for a bit of "lift"? 😛 I know, I know.. who carries around rack case lids nowadays...
