  1. I don’t suppose anybody has a transcription before I sit down and do it...?
  2. PS @stingrayPete1977 did you have a good colliers Boxing Day pie? Will get something in the diary soon! Bet you looking forward to getting the first IEM outing underway. You got everything sorted with your split desk setup now and EQed your bass to perfection? 👯‍♀️
  3. If you can get a bigger tip in your ear, you are bound to get a better seal. The better seal you get, the more bass. The only thing you got to be careful of is that you don’t occlude the passage of air from the drivers to your inner ear - as that’s when things can start to sound weird. Was your mono/stereo issue whilst coming off an aux of the XR?
  4. Defo worth a trip to see the ciem company - one stop shop to get everything sorted and you can get to try out all the i.e. to suit your budget. Although I have to say, given the budget you have stated, the ue6 would appear to be the obvious choice!
  5. For a balanced armature mulitidriver, aim for a quad (treb, mid, bass, bass). You’ll get that from Lugs but you’ll struggle elsewhere. The UE6 is a hybrid triple so you have extended headroom in the mid and bass but still the detail in the highs due to the use of a balanced armature. Note, the low and mid drivers are dynamic drivers. i don’t believe that there’s anything else out there that comes close to the UE6 for the money... and I’ve heard a lot of stuff!
  6. Shure make decent mics, not decent inears. Go straight to UE6. Do not pass Go. Do not collect £200. Shure cannot hold a candle to a set of custom UE6s. Snugs do not nail a custom fit like a custom IEM built for you. A UE6 can be in your possession in under a fortnight (once all this Christmas nonsense is out of the way). Seriously, with your budget, do not go for Shure.
  7. The placement of the feedback on your back is flawed. Your back has the least nerve endings in your body and the placement of backbeat can be awkward. The concept is good but could be executed better imho. The best feedback is through the hips - hence I prefer the Woojer (you can also place it so it feeds back through your chest and back) although they probably aren’t as well known in music circles as they went for the gamers market.
  8. What? You're going backwards? Still... bet you glad you still kept hold of the Helix! Are you still gigging with the other band - especially considering that you have invested so heavily in the item field. I guess that's what you call old school rock n roll!
  9. Custom moulds is where it’s at. To be honest, with your diagnosis, they would be worth every penny. Feel free to PM me if you want to talk.
  10. After headaches, managed to track the thing down and it’s now with a Shure - should arrive back after the weekend on Christmas Eve... fingers crossed. logistics companies are big poo faces
  11. Guess I’ll find out more tomorrow @tonyf - the thing is, it needs to have been serviced and left from Shure by Thursday for delivery back to me on Friday otherwise it’ll not be til the New Year - which is a right ball as I got some gigs in between Xmas and NYE that I could really do with having it back. Of course, that is assuming that it miraculously gets found tomorrow. Im seriously considering trying to get this deal on watchdog or something - insurance for other people doing their job right is just ludicrous. And the thing is, I have to wait a stupid amount of time before I can make a claim - and then the claim process is always deliberately so that it’s difficult to actually get a pay out. Corrupt as.
  12. FML. As if it wasn't enough losing my inears, my ULXD is now lost. FFS. Why can't a delivery company ever do what it's meant to do. And yet you take out insurance for them to do their job right. Ask yourself this... if you had a tradesman came into your premises to do work and they completely fck*ed it up... would you claim on their insurance? Why do you have pay insurance out for the safeguarding against THEM doing THEIR job properly? Absolutely raging.
  13. Lovely!!
  14. Beautiful. It just goes to show you the big disconnect between what is happening with regard to PA speakers and Bass cabs. For now, I can only see the only reason you'd want to go with a traditional bass cab, is for traditional looks. If you want to make your setup sound different, change what your pre is doing.
  15. Have fun. But don't make Rock n Roll's death too painful.
  16. There we go. Now we are talking.
  17. Because... PJB. same with the headphones. Obviously must be good for bass players cos PJB.
  18. I seriously doubt it. You only have to look at some of the hi end hifi headphone amps to see that this is small fry compared to whats out there.
  19. Not latency... just standard drummer timing! 😛
  20. A lot of drummers hate electric kits... the thing is, choosing the right kit can make all the difference. Here's my drummer dude this weekend at a small bar gig, dark cymbals (v important!), small kit, miced in stereo for the in-ears and kick support out front. Darker cymbals, quiet acoustic kit... but as you can see, I don't think it really holds him back. Obviously the mix sounds a bit off here as it was shot in a phone (that was in a case to further mess with the mic response) - but the whole setup sounded awesome out front.
  21. Oh well, at least you'll have some fun hearing everything whilst you earn some pennies to pay for it! ULXD - yeah, pretty bummed out. Funnily enough, I dropped an email to a guy I know in Shure and he was on the phone within a couple of minutes. Pretty good considering that they aren't open at the weekend. Guess it's the nature of the business and the time of year. All being well, shipped off on Monday, should have it back within 48 hours after it lands with them. Thats pretty decent don't you think?! He seems to think it's a quick fix - don't know about price yet though Are you not running your setup stereo yet? You've got some more delights for your ears to come then! Has your desk not got enough auxes to equip everybody with stereo? What desk is it that you are running? Quiet Christmas for me - which I'm looking forward to. As for picking my brain - any time, anywhere I can help, glad to do so.
  22. Its not a DAW per se, more anything that is digital and has an A/D D/A conversion in your chain... so digital pedals, digital mixers... DAWs have an operational latency to begin with... but you are right, you are more likely not wanting to be adding to it by going wireless into it.
  23. No worries man. You've got an absolute killer setup there now. Roxannes and EW300 -that's a top flight rig and it's good to see that you are now where you want to be - enjoy. (Certainly a big step up from those other customs you had, right?!). Bet you're beaming like a Cheshire Cat now?!
  24. More rock n roll death. 😛
  25. He confirmed this morning that he had his stuff. I don't think he tends to leave his gear anywhere!
