  1. Ha yeah! Although compressed gas cylinders are usually on the courier prohibited items list - or insist that they are empty. How they could ensure that I don't know. Anyway...
  2. It does your head in doesn't it? I hate to say it, but I've been one of those people where they left my package "in the grey bin on the drive" - the very one that was being picked up by the dustbin men. *facepalm* It was some diving equipment - and to be fair to the shop, they sent me out replacements straight away and told me to "let us deal with the d1ckheads".
  3. Conan - good to see that you're getting in to the tit for tat point scoring as opposed to focusing on the op question.
  4. Not while there's TV to watch and kebabs to eat.
  5. By the time you've spent 10 minutes getting assaulting by the sound in the main room, you're going to wish that you never had the urge to play bass....
  6. I don't think there is negativity, just statements on what has been witnessed... which are then taken as negative... usually by people that have bought. There's negative comments made all sorts of brands on here (Ashdown most recent)... but people seem to exhibit big amounts of butt hurt when it comes to comments being made about Barefaced. I dunno. Go figure.
  7. It's not a myth! You only have to look at pretty much every BF for sale on Facebook to see the evidence.
  8. It wouldn't be a bass show if he isn't.
  9. Who'd want to carry a bass around with them across London unless they absolutely had to? Not for me ta!
  10. I agree - with bass, I actually prefer no speaker emulations. Certainly wouldn't say the same for guitar though!
  11. Another big issue is whether your monitor is passive or powered. Alot of venues have passive monitors... so turning up with a powered monitor could be a bit of an issue. So to get around this you are looking at getting a passive monitor and a separate power amp should you need it... like a bass amp and a bass cab. The FRFR story thread will give you some ideas... but ultimately, you still need to have some knowledge of what you are dealing with. A monitor that you can use as a bass amp and put the rest of the band through... well, for me, that's preferable, you've just got to sort out what your real requirements are.
  12. I agree - the top end on most bass cabs are highly attenuated... and additionally, bass cabs are traditionally far from flat response, especially in the mid range.
  13. Unlikely - but I guess we will see. I'm guessing they are bolting their own preamp which that have mated with some pre existing power amp. Not many class D 2 ohm power amps around... certainly not a lot that will sustain high power output with out going into thermal issues. But we shall see.
  14. Is that American Hipshot hardware I see on your basses? - or is it the licensed Chinese stuff?
  15. "so I have a jack/XLR converter which is MONO" - this is your issue. If you use a TRS (e.g. a stereo) to XLR jack from your headphone amp, you'll end up with a stereo feed (of two identical mono signals), that will be unbalanced. Behringer have gone the unbalanced XLR route to avoid having two unwieldily XLR/TRS inputs on the belt pack. As you say, you could also get a mono adapter for the headphone side too.
  16. I'm quite surprised that there's a perceived top end zing as these cabs come out dead flat on a smaart analyser. Guess we are all used to hearing different things - but I know RCF excel at top end reproduction.
