1.
any thread with a HJFreaks video cheers me up no end
Conversely... the drummer at the wrong gig vid is long past it's expiry date!
 2.
Barefaced foam party...?
On par with the handle incident.
 3.
Here's some clues : G** P****, J**** G******* but I may be wrong on this last one J*** B*****
Justin Bieber?!?
 4.
I used to like the threads where famous named players would join Basschat and get run out of town/flounce off!
I bet they're not available in the search...
 5.
Surely the finding of the waistcoat guy trumps everything?
Aye, that was pretty special.
 6. I'd like to see what his take on sweetened tunings would be.
 7. Found it - http://basschat.co.uk/topic/142240-lesson-in-bass-playing/page__hl__cee%20lo%20bass%20tune Didn't realise it was me that actually started it... But yeah, it's more about the responses!
 8.
I like that one with the hundreds of video reviews of our favourite bass gear... oh, you know, what's that guy's basschat name??
That Ed Friedland bloke? Yeah, he's great.
 9. Cee Lo at Coachella thread... some corkers. Can't find it at the moment Want to see if the comments in it were as funny as I seem to remember. I think Skank's input was particularly amazing. The one where we were talking about this performance - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ewTJWKeGLAY Listen on headphones to get the full effect of the bass... What's your fave threads of BC history?
 10.

I don't know who this Jaco guy is but his timing on some of those phrases is awful.. Had a right game trying to sing along.
 11. They recorded some songs together... but since the back catalogue debacle, I think the "liking" of Jaco went south...
 12. I have that very same case for my Yammy bass and echo exactly the same words. Very good value for money and plenty of padding. Much better than some four times the place.
 13. NEWS JUST IN Macca approves of this thread.
 14.
It appears that if there is a lot of competitive wi-fi signals then it a affects remotely logging into the desk. The solution may be to buy a decent independent router. They are easier in terms of lugging equipment about and using scenes for similar venues etc
This is the top complaint with this desk - get a decent router and use that instead of the inbuilt one.
 15. It's funny how everybody immediately cites Rhodes as THE electric piano sound. For me, it's always Wurlitzer...! Anyway, enjoy your Wurlitzer... great to have around the house... although I would say, gig wise, you are better off going with something like a Nord... a lot more stable and reliable on the road! Old boards always fascinate me... I nearly bought a B3 and Leslie many, many moons ago because I just loved their sound. Wish I had now - could have turned it for a pretty penny!
 16. Mega cone is not in the same league as going through PA. I play regularly with a drummer with a mega cone and whilst it's better than nothing, he'll still push for the PA. If your observation is that the kick drum is sounding like it's coming out of the PA, then I would wager your subs aren't much cop. The success of getting your bass drum to sound good through the PA all depends upon your gear. First of all, you need a good sub... but secondly, you need some fairly powerful eq and critically, a compressor. Digital desks win here. If your EQ options are limited, an Audix D6 is a pretty good mic to go for - as it's naturally EQ response is pretty much where you want to be. You'll still want that compressor though...
 17. Great track - although I still maintain that the original version he did with his previous band Raiyn was a superior version. Raiyn was an incredible band... PRB, Jason Silver (keys man with Mark Ronson - PRB played with Ronson for a while too), Adam Sosner (think he's currently MDing Rizzle Kicks amongst other things), Rick James on bass (not that Rick James - but has played with a range of top acts) and Daniel Walker - silky vocals although sadly, he doesn't seem to be doing as well as the others - he had a go at the Voice (with an amazing version of Kiss from a Rose - Seal) but sadly didn't get anywhere.
 18.
Dave Swift is probably one of the better known bass players on bass chat
Who?

 20.
Krist Novoselic listened to some Jaco, didn't like it and decided it best if he stopped playing, John Deacon followed suit.
The whole story about Entwistle and the hooker was a cover too. News had it that when he was found dead on the bed, he had some earphones in... when they took them out of his ears to see what he was listening too.... yup, you guessed it. He just knew that he was beat and had to give up there and then.
 21. It's not very well known but he is actually an immense jazzer.
 22. Go into a body shop and give them some beer money to get them to polish it with a mop.
 23. Nirvana was special too. Not a fan of their music. But what they did was really important. In a sea of bubblegum pop sh1tness, they made guitars and independent music cool again.
