If you have an iPad, stretch to a mackie dl1608. It makes sense - fx, gates, compressors, 31 band eq, 6 aux sends, remote control for foh and monitor mixes from iPad or iPhone. All in a compact, lightweight package.

The diagrams make it so much clearer. I use as in example 1.
The Mobius sits in the bottom left of my board - it's a killer pedal for modulation... really nice controllable effects and even greater when used with a expression pedal too. Its sacked off a few of my pedals - so when you look at the cost, it's more easy to swallow that way. Plus being able to recall multiple presets is awesome.
The chorus is one of the strongest positives about this pedal. Love it. Like everything though, some time spent tweaking away from the presets will reward you with the greatest results. Enjoy.
Also worth mentioning is the pre/post feature - defo worth using that, especially with any overdrives or distortions.
Have a look at a set of ACS Pacato earplugs. Cheap, but comfortable enough to stay in your ear with the all important filter. Obviously, if you can go the full deal and get some moulded, that's where you want to be. But from my experience of the xmas trees, the full on moulds, doc's proplugs, the yellow foam things and the Pacatos... the Pacatos are where you want to be on a budget.
I have to say that the 112 Neos are not the greatest cab compared to others out there... The EBS 2x12 is probably my fave EBS cab... however, 2 of the 1x12 Neolines don't cut it... unless you like farts that is.
The Reidmar is a fantastic piece of kit... as is the Aguilar. You can't make a decision without hearing them though - they are very different. See Aguilar as more old school sounding and the Reidmar as more hifi. You can take the hifi out of the Reidmar but you can't add the hifi to the Aguilar. Find out which tone is more to your liking.

and didnt really get the wasted use of the samsamp that only goes to his ears!?

I do the same but with EBS MB2s. Why bother telling the engineer what you want in your ears bass tone wise when you can mix it yourself and be completely independent of the front of house mix? I like uber clarity in my ears without all the sub bass that is send out front. Makes perfect sense to me. I have my own gain structure and eq available at my fingertips without trying to explain what I want - he's not compromising the front of house mix for me and vice versa. I completely buy into that logic I'm afraid.

I would hope nobody is seen as untouchable, and threads like this are useful to have for information purposes. For me the terms and conditions combined with the prices and apparent eccentricity mean I wouldn't consider his stuff (I can only attach so much importance to a part of the instrument that doesn't make any noise), but I presume the priorities are different for some.

I think you missed my underlying sarcasm!
This is the trouble with custom stuff - I have a friend who swirls guitars - the results of course, although can be influenced, do have a degree of randomness to them. The trouble is, the customer doesn't always like it... then it has to be reswirled.
I think Spitfire should rethink their model if this starts becoming a problem. Make them and offer the for sale piece by piece with a pic of the particular example for sale.
But this guy seems like he could be untouchable by what I've read here. And he's backed by the Lord.
Worth also stating duck tape around the case and the latches. I've also used cable ties. Also put tape and cable ties in checked baggage as opposed to carry on to avoid problems with the authorities. They don't seem to like that kind of stuff as carry on. :-p
Ps don't always think flight cases are the end all. Great when in bulk but I've had a full on flight case pierced and whatever pierced it narrowly missed the bass neck.
Oh and flight cases are so heavy if you are responsible for carrying them. At least with bass safe you can use a gig bag when you need.
What I would say, get a 5 strong Squier jazz so you don't have to worry. I know a good few players that now do this. At least you won't be heartbroken when the airport monkeys lose or destroy your bass.
Enjoy your trip!

Hiscox - I am a fan but not for flights necessarily. Ive known somebody lose a headstock whilst in a Hiscox.
Pedalwise, what you running? All 9v?
Depends upon what sound you want. The EBS can do a hi zing that the Hartke can't. But the Hartke gives you a fat ballsy tone in anger. Depends how versatile you want to be. Both great choices.
